Sierra's beautiful violet flashed strangely as she looked at him with her red lips curled into a beautiful smile as she said, " You seem to have some misunderstanding about demons and demonic beasts, not only they don't fear the colour red but it is supposed to be their favourite colour."
" Then why did you give this bow tie?" Damien asked as he waved the red tie in his hands in front of Sierra. If the bow tie wasn't going to scare the demonic beasts away what was the point of having it?
" Press the ruby in the middle of the tie would you please," she said while pointing to the egg-shaped ruby sitting in the middle of the fabric, Damien did as she asked and no sooner did he touch the jewel, a strange thing happened.
The bow tie started to glow and then with a pop a weird creature came out of it, it didn't look like a fairy, with its serpentine tail and half-human-like body but the strange red wings behind it made it look like the thing was a fairy. Dark skin with eyes that matched its blood-red wings on its back, the pixie-like creature fluttered from the palm of his hand and then came flying up until he was at eye level with him, its eyes glowing strangely.
Damien then heard a voice ringing inside his head
[ Welcome host, treasure hunter has been activated. ( Current treasures 000), Host Level: 0. You need more treasures to level up, please follow the instructions provided by the Lynch. The more effort you put into looking for a treasure the sooner you will level up as the demon with skills like power, mana and strength.]
"What's going on?" He asked as the pixie that called itself Lynch fluttered over to his shoulder and then sat down. He turned to look at Sierra who was standing in front of him confusion brimming in his eyes, the message that Lynch told him if anything made him even more confused.
" What else, this is your life belt," replied Sierra as she walked closer and then pierced her finger with the tip of her nail, for a minute Damien didn't understand what she was doing but then the demonic pixie on his shoulder opened its wing and then flew over to Sierra and started lapping the blood that was oozing out of her finger. " This is Lynch, I suppose he must have introduced himself already."
If she noticed the alarm flashing on his face when he saw the blood-sucking fairy, Sierra ignored him. " Lynch belongs to the difier demonic tribe, they are known for their treasure-hunting skills, you see?"
Damien still looked at her in confusion seemingly not understanding why she was giving him a treasure hunter, shouldn't she be giving him some real weapon or something like that, something that will protect him against the demonic beasts?
Seeing that he couldn't understand what she was trying to do, Sierra picked up the book that was sticking out of the corner of her bookshelf. And then to Damien's shock, the second the book was taken out the bookshelf parted into two before another bookshelf, smaller and older than the one in front appeared. In it was an old book with a black hard cover and a hideous drawing on the front, Damien didn't know whether or not he was imagining it but the book seemed to be emanating an aura of terror.
His heart started to thump wildly as he looked at the book as if it was going to burst out of his chest. However, Sierra calmly picked it up was it because she was a demon who was unaffected by the weird energy that the book was releasing?
But then he noticed that even Sierra's forehead was covered with sweat as she placed the book on the table and then heaved a sigh of relief. she turned to look at him and maybe she noticed his discomfort because he heard her say, " Don't worry, the book of the overlord does this to everyone whether human or demons alike."
"The book of the Overlord?"
Sierra nodded. " The previous overlord existed many years ago, no one knows how and why he suddenly decided to fade out given he was the strongest of all the other overlords who existed in the timeline before his, which was ever since the year when the overlord faded away, many experts have been studying his mysterious vanishing and the abandonment of the demonic world but no one really came up with a suggestion." She patted the book resting on the table and sighed as she continued. " Except for this one, this book was written by the closest aide of the overlord who understood him the best... That is to say, my father."
" My father was the overlord's most trusted aide and stood by his side for a very long time because he understood his master the best, he tried to come up with a valid reason for the decision of the fading of the overlord, unlike the others who couldn't find anything…my father found out the reason why the overlord suddenly vanished," her voice took a sombre note as she narrowed her eyes and answered the question that Damien had. " The demon lord was killed."
