ELENA
I was overwhelmed, confused and still finding it hard to believe that this was indeed happening. My phone hadn't stopped ringing, and my mailbox was full of hundreds of new congratulatory emails.
The whole town of Swindon now knew the news of the award, courtesy to my office staff.
The whole building was buzzing with exhilaration, celebrating my success. And the happiest people were, of course, Joanna and Steve.
They were running from here and there, screaming at the top of their lungs and with smiles so wide on their faces that I feared they may end up with slit faces.
I sat in my office, my phone on silent mode and my laptop closed to give me a breather. Staring at the cabin full of flowers and bouquets, I sat in my chair with a blank mind.
I couldn't believe it!
Was I living a dream?
Because if yes, then I want dad to wake me up with another of his rant on my poor career choice. Because this all felt so surreal that I ended up pinching myself eight times in a day.
