"By the way... we have something else to worry about." Ortiz said after a minute.
He was in Victor's office and wanted to direct his attention to another persistent problem than Elena Bell.
Victor's scowl deepened. He looked stressed, and Ortiz wished he could relieve some of his burdens. But he was already doing the best he could, and some baggage was only Victor's to carry.
"What now Ortiz? My mouth is already full with more than enough. Can't you deal with it for me?"
Victor didn't sound rude or arrogant but genuinely requested.
He was an entirely different person for the world and very different for the people he loved. The only problem with him was that the man was not good at expressing that love which only added to misunderstandings with the people around him.
But Ortiz was an exception. After more than thirty years of friendship, Victor and Ortiz were tied with an unbreakable bond.
