DEVON
My foot was continuously tapping on the car's floor in impatience while I busied myself with playing video games on my phone. Christine sat tensed beside me, her office bag resting between us.
She was ruining her manicure and nail art for which she must have spent thousands of dollars from her salary even after getting scolded by her mother.
But I didn't stop her. Because I was as nervous as her. We both had our own ways of handling the situations, and when the situation is so tense, we avoid any conversations to keep ourselves focused and pulled together.
The car entered the Trinity square, and my head shot up from my phone. Every time I passed by this road, my eyes found the spot where Carson's dead body was found.
Numerous cars- some aware of that fact and some not- ran over the same spot. A shiver ran down my spine like that every time before the car entered through the large gates of the office building.
