ELENA
I walked beside Mason, scratching my thumb. I kept my shoulders square and face straight, but my honey-coloured eyes kept darting around in hope of seeing Devon coming looking for me.
But the curiosity in me too was eager to hear what Mason had to say and wished Devon would not ruin this chance for me.
Mason stopped in front of a door and then opened it. "After you, My Lady!" He smiled charmingly, a smile that could swoon any woman off her feet.
But not me!
I replied with a small smile before stepping inside a spacious and luxurious space with large windows and furniture that looked straight out of a furniture advertisement.
It was nothing like Devon's office, which was quite simple and uncluttered with expensive items. The other thing that made a striking difference in both spaces was the presence of small decorative trees and climbers in Devon's office.
