Chapter 12 - Chapter 5.12 - Yumiko - Trade Route

On to our regularly scheduled flashback. As I mentioned to White before, just as he was about to leave The Glorious Kingdom of Spectrum, a chaotic purple cloud begun to envelope the entire country. Those who inhaled the cloud, were given a curse. A curse that blocks specific memories. White does not know the effect yet but he would find out about it once he decided to have a short talk with one of the ex-lord that he saw shopping at the market.

"Lady Luft, is that you?" I called for her.

She searched for my voice and looked at me weirdly.

She then asked, "Uh...who are you?"

White laughs, "Oh come on. Stop joking. You know me right, Cyclone White."

"Uhh...I don't think so...are you a mercenary or something? Well...As one of the generals here in Spectrum, I expect you don't cause any trouble. Got it?" She then left the marketplace.

White scratched his head in confusion. Afterwards, he tried to get into Queen Sam's castle but his entry was denied. White even stated his title but apparently no one knows him at all. He then returned to the market as he sat down on one of the many crates there.

"That's weird...nobody remembers me...Is it that weird cloud just now?" He theorized. "If that is the case...then I have to get out of this game at once."

White tried to log out but he couldn't. That's when he realized that he was now stuck inside that world. He looked down in defeat until he notice the necklace on him. He held it tightly and looked up. White bounced back as he jumped away from the crate.

"Since nobody knows who am I...I doubt I can be considered a Pantheon. They won't believe. So instead, I'll just be a wandering adventurer."

White pick himself up and went to the blacksmith store. He got himself some light protection as well as a bow and a couple of throwing knife just for safe measure. He also bought essentials such as a rope and a couple of medicine. Afterwards, he headed to the tailor shop and ordered the shopkeeper to make a customized robe that can conceal most of his equipment. Once everything was done, White got out of the store, pulled in the robe's hood and covered his face as made his way to the port.

White was able to get a passage to his next destination, The Violet Empire. That's where he believe that someone over there will be able to help him with the strange phenomenon. And so, he got on to the ship and got into his quarter.

Just as he was settling down, he found out that he has a neighbour in his quarter. They were also setting down their stuff. White couldn't tell who the stranger was as they were showing their back.

White then said, "I though I asked the captain that I need privacy..."

"Well sorry about that. The captain told me that I can sleep here. You go ask him about that." It was a woman.

White went up the deck and found the captain, "I asked for privacy..."

"Well big deal, sir. We have a lot of cargo here and this is not even a boarding ship. This is a cargo ship. We deliver goods not people. But since you insist to pay, I gave passage. Won't sharing be suffice enough for a passage to Violet?"

White visibly hushed, "Fine." and head back to his now shared quarter.

"Looks like we'll be sharing...Miss..." He then stumbled his words as the woman turned her back. It was someone he know. It was Typhon Blanc. "Blanc?"

"How'd you know my name? Who are you?"

White then remember that everyone was affected by that weird cloud and so he bluffed, "The captain told me. I'm Cyclone White. But please call me White. Cyclone is my family name."

"Oh I see. Our family names arrangement are the same then. We are you from anyway?"

"Where am I from?" White tries to think of suitable place. "I'm everywhere. I'm wandering. A wandering adventurer."

Blanc sat down on her bed and laughed, "An adventurer? Wow. What a coincidence. I'm also one."

"Good to know that I'm sharing this quarter with a fellow adventurer, then." said White.

"It certainly is." She then pointed at White. "Just don't do anything funny while I'm asleep, got it? I'll kill you faster than you can say The Glorious Kingdom of Spectrum."

"No problem. As long as we kept our privacy, I'm fine."

"Good." she smiled.

After a few minutes have passed by, the cargo ship had begun sailing off to the sea. Three days have passed since then. It was daytime. White decided to take on a stroll at the deck. As he was enjoying the view, he also witnessed the crew having some fun. They were having a round of fistfight with each other. White enjoyed the view until the captain broke them off and tell them to get back to work.

"You shouldn't really be up considering you're an outsider, here."

"We're at sea." White told him.

"Sure, whatever. But here's the thing. I'm having some weird rumors that my crew is trying to take over this ship. I don't know who but I just hope we're able to make it out alive by the end of this trip."

"Who told you that?"

"No one. It's just me." He then whispered to White, "The cargo that we have right now is really precious. Its about months of fortune for just this single trip. As scruffy as I am. I am afraid that some of my men are setting up all of the money for themselves..."

"I see...So it's dangerous here."

"And at sea...Nobody can find your body."

And so, a mystery unfolds as White makes his way to Violet Empire. But will he even make it there? That is of course, unless he do something about it.
