We'll go ahead and change your clothes then. Goodnight Yuri." he said and waved good night to him before turning around and walking back inside the manor, leaving Yuri standing in the hallway awkwardly by himself.
It felt strange to walk alone after spending the whole day together. Normally, his father would accompany him everywhere, whether it be to his school classes, to dinner, or to bed. After being alone, Yuri finally realized how lonely he actually was. While he wasn't the type of person to show many outwardly emotions, he knew that he cared deeply about people. Not many of them were close to him, but even still there were a few who he liked and respected greatly. However, the fact that he had become so isolated within his own life recently meant that he couldn't rely on anyone else to provide him with company.
In the end, he was left all alone.
Chapter 8
The following days passed by fairly uneventfully. It was nice not to have to worry about anything in particular, except Yuri, but it did seem as though everything would eventually calm down soon. He was looking forward to it immensely though. Every morning Victor and Hugo would wake him up with breakfast while his father would make breakfast for himself and Yuri. The food was delicious, and Victor' s cooking skills were top notch. Yuri had a hard time trying to figure out where Victor learned those techniques as he could cook a lot better than his parents, which meant that it must've been taught to him by someone. However, nobody in the household ever volunteered information about who could have possibly taught Victor those techniques, so he gave up trying to find the truth eventually. Besides, he really didn't want anyone else to teach him cooking either, as long as it didn't involve fire.
After they ate breakfast together every morning, Victor would leave the kitchen to tend to other duties and his father would escort him down to the dining room for breakfast. Since he didn' t eat, Yuri would also take care of the rest of the chores on his own. He knew that his mother would try to punish him if she were awake, considering how late in the morning it usually was, but after a few days of being forced to stay alone she had gotten used to the silence and was simply glad for the fact that her son was sleeping soundly, rather than constantly waking up early in the mornings and complaining. She was still mad at him and sometimes, when she was particularly upset with him, would threaten to lock him inside his bedroom if he dared to disturb her while she slept, but after having endured several months of living together
