Announcer: And now the match to settle it all is upon us... From the males, we have our last candidate... Aiden Brightfil!
[The crowd was silent.]
Aiden: Ehh? No applause? Sigh...
[Akeru began patting his head lightly to comfort him. ]
Announcer: And from the girl's team we have... Ahana skywill!
[A roaring cheer arose from the crowd... All women and girls. They gave her a loud ovation even Aiden's mom clapped politely. Aiden felt even more depressed and his eyes became teary]
Akeru: Don't worry Aiden you can cry on my shoulder.
Aiden: I'm not crying you're crying! Waahh! Sob...
Announcer: Please quiet down. Could the two of you please step down into the ring?
[Ahana stood up and walked into the ring elegantly. With the silence of the arena her armor clanked as she walked... but Aiden on the other hand was still on his seat, he hung his head low with a faint unreadable smile plastered on his face]
Aiden: Looks...like it's my turn now huh.
Aiden's POV
What... do I do now? Win? And then expel 8 people who were serious about going here?... What was my reason for coming to Agrath's anyways?
Draven: Hey Aiden what's wrong?
Akeru: Yes, is anything the problem?
[Aiden still didn't raise his head]
Aiden: Heh, nothing's wrong...I was just trying to think of a cool way to enter the ring is all.
Henry Wiston: And one more thing!
[The masses looked up to listen to the new voice currently speaking on the magical speaker. It was the teacher that previously spoke up for Aiden, his name was Henry Wiston, and he was a handsome young man in his late twenties, he wore a white luxurious overcoat that showed off his Aristocratical status but it didn't feel as stuffy or stiff as what other Aristocrats wore. He had straight white hair, golden eyes colors, and carried a sword on his waist]
[That "magical speaker" is more of a cone with a handle imbuded with sound magic so that the vibrations intensifies making him sound louder.]
Female crowd: Iyaa~~ It's sir Henry again!!
Henry: I talked it over with the school's committee and to make sure you both try your best the reward for this last match will be 2 of any of your desires will be granted.]
[Aiden raised his head suddenly]
Aiden: Huh?
Henry: Yes, any desire you may wish for you will be granted. Though we know you lack nothing, a little incentive wouldn't hurt. So make sure you both give it your all. May Agrath be with you both.
Aiden: Heh!
[Aiden bounced from his seat in excitement. When he did, he took a glance at Calico. Calico looked indifferent about the turn of events but Aiden gave a soft smile as if he knew why Calico's mood was 'neutral' about all this.]
Aiden: Well then... WOOOOHHOOOO!!
[Aiden jumped from his stand to the ground when he landed he created a cloud of dust that he was choking in. And the height he jumped from was no joke!]
Aiden: *Cough-Cough* Maybe that wasn't the coolest way for an entry, Hehe.
[He wore his bright, carefree smile again. Ahana in the ring had a stern-looking face while staring at him. She wasn't mad nor did she resent him, she just didn't want to lower her guard for a second. After all, this was a match that will decide the fate of the girls]
Ahana: You seem more eager now that you've heard of a prize. Is that all you really care for?
Aiden: I just realized we haven't talked before. Oh and yeah I want the prize aren't you gonna fight harder because of it too?
[She let out a sigh]
Ahana: I fight for something more than a prize. Fight me with all your might Brightfil and when I win I'll give you the prize. Don't hold back because I'm a woman. It'll be a horrible mistake on your end.
Aiden: I'm a beacon of true gender equality! I will hit you as hard as I can.
[He wore a smug look on his face]
Ahana: Glad to hear it.
[Aiden walked into the ring. They both met face to face, Aiden on the left and Ahana on the right, While Aiden wore a smug smile showing his teeth, she wore a stern expression while narrowing her eyes. Her hand on her sword ready to swing it at any moment]
Announcer: ....Begin!
[They both ran at each other so fast that they generated massive wind gusts the ground beneath them sank and got destroyed]
[Aiden blocked her sword strike with his forearm]
Aiden: Heh, you're strong.
Ahana: I don't take that as a compliment.
[She wouldn't take that remark as a compliment because to her saying "You are strong" is the same as telling her " You're breathing" to her it was like stating the obvious. She believed in her strength as someone aspiring to be a knight and will not be taken lightly]
[She concentrated wind onto her hand creating a small torrent, Aiden saw this and created something similar in his but with fire. Their fist collided with one another and roaring flames engulfed the entire ring, since magical attacks couldn't get out the flames stayed in the dome. Within the dome was dyed red with flames The impact of their attacks pushed both of them back.]
[Ahana's hand up to her wrist were mildly burnt but she could still continue]
Ahana: Hm...
[She opened and squeezed her dist tightly]
Aiden's POV
Yikes!! I'm glad I held back on that last attack. Her hand could have been blown off!
Ahana: Brightfil... Are you... holding back?
Aiden: Heh. Of course not.
[He avoided eye contact]
Aiden's POV
Lies! Don't try this at home kids.
Ahana: Don't lie to me! You are, aren't you?!
[She yelled at him.]
Aiden: ...
Ahana: Am I... really such a weak opponent that you have the luxury to hold back on?
Aiden: I told you before didn't I? You're strong. And I'm not gonna lie but not many would take an attack like that from me and still have that hand.
Aiden's POV
I'm not trying to brag or anything I just... don't want her to think that she's weak because it's a terrible comparison between me and her.
I'm in something of an OP MC. And in this genre, other characters that fight me despite being strong will lose.
If a strong character were to fight someone like that and lose would you call them weak?
Would a strong person losing to someone stronger be considered weak a weak person?
I don't think so. And that's where she falls in... she's strong it's just I'm stronger.
And funny enough if I had to say who was stronger between her and Jack wittaker... it'd be her.
But what do I do? If I do go all out as she says her I could accidentally kill her.
Ahana: If you truly believe I'm strong then use all your might to defeat me.
[Her head was lowered while she was talking and out her sword back in its sheath]
Aiden: I...
[She suddenly raised her head and had a smile on her face]
Ahana: If that's the case I'll just have to beat you! I'll admit I wasn't going all out either.
Aiden: Oh? Heh, Bring it!
[They both dashed at each other, Ahana coated her fist in wind and tried to punch Aiden but he dodged it and blasted her with a small fireball he had in his hand]
Ahana: Argh...
[She slid back. She touched her stomach, the place Aiden aimed at and took off the chain mail covering her stomach, and touched the burnt area releasing a small groan from the pain]
Ahana: You're starting to take this seriously. That's good.
[She stood up but stumbled a bit, she was getting dizzy because of the heat. Some large fragments of Aiden's Flames were still blazing within the dome, it was reducing the oxygen and making it hard to breathe]
Ahana: Ever-blessed Winds!
[A gentle breeze blew within the dome, putting out the small inferno and purifying the air]
Aiden: Ahhhh...
[Aiden released a deep sigh of relief]
Aiden: I didn't mind the heat but this feel refreshing, the gentle breeze blowing upon my skin, the clean air filling my lungs, it feels me with so much nostalgia, the way it's making me all will to fight... Wait a minute.
[Aiden dodged a hyper-fast attack from Ahana.]
Aiden: Heh, really? You tried removing my will to fight?
Ahana: That was just to cleanse the air, I didn't know it had those effects.
Aiden: When I win this, promise to blow this breeze on me again. I've never been more at peace.
Ahana: When 'I' win I'll think about it.
They both ran at each other again, one punch blocked, one dodged, fire magic repelled, Wind magic negated, this is how the fight went on, though Aiden was still not using all his power he made it seem so for Ahana and she used all her power against Aiden]
[Ahana coated her hand in a small torrent of wind and blasted Aiden with a wind comparable to a category 3 hurricane]
Crowd: Woahh!
[The dome got destroyed again due to the massive amount of magic it couldn't contain, but when the dome broke she stopped her spell so people wouldn't get hurt.]
[Ahana panted heavily as she just released her most powerful spell, she believed surely Aiden would have been pushed out by it, even if he tanked it he would still be out of bounds was what she thought]
Aiden: That was pretty cool actually.
[Her eyes widened in shock as she heard Aiden's voice coming from behind her]
Ahana: How did you...?!
[Aiden walked in front of her]
Aiden: I'm fast.
*****************
Chase: I... couldn't keep up with how fast he moved... UNACCEPTABLE!!
***********
[Ahana staggered to stand up.]
Ahana: *Pants-Pants-pants*
[Aiden stood in front of her not feeling tired at all]
Ahana: You...still weren't taking me seriously were you?
Aiden: I took you more seriously than any other fight I've been in... I'll say it once again... You're strong.
Ahana: You came from behind me... why didn't you attack?
Aiden: I once heard from somewhere that a scar on a warrior's back is shameful. So I'll take you up upfront.
[Ahana had a soft smile on her face]
Ahana: Well said.
[She used the last of her strength and charged at Aiden, but he condensed magic in his hand to make a fireball and blasted it at her... she was out of bounds and knocked unconscious at the same time]
Announcer: Aiden Brightfil wins!
[There was a huge roaring cheer from all the males in the arena. The male Aristocrats didn't cheer as loud but they said something along the line of "As expected, a girl should know her place", "Wretched little girl thought she could challenge the rules and defeat a man she got what she deserved" and " He's far better than I expected, but his opponent was a girl so him winning should have been obvious"]
*********
Aviana: No way...
*
Jade: He won...
*
Elnora: I don't know if I should be happy he won or pissed off. (Ouch my stomach.)
*
Mara: Why did I decide to fight? I should have known if he was in this there was no way we would have won.
*
Breeze: Hahaha, so all the other girls are disqualified now? Hilarious.
*
Calliope: He won...
*
Riverine: Oh no. I won't get to be in the same school as Versi.
*
Crysta: ...
Luna: He won, huh? What are we going to do now?
*
Aser: Heh. I made the right decision by having him fight her.
Breeze: Ho? You're happy he won? Even though you barely did.
Aser: Put a cock in it, Breeze. You're acting all smug because you weren't part of them.
Breeze: If I was I wouldn't have lost so pathetically like my elder sister.
*
Announcer: And with that Agrath's Royal Academy exams have come to a close. The males came out victorious and the girls who defied the rules will be barred from entering the school. Thank you all for participating.
[There were some with heavy feelings in their hearts when they knew they lost, it was sad for them but this school doesn't take second-rate students.]
Henry Wiston: Yes before we completely close, Aiden Brightfil? Please step forward.
[Aiden walked towards the podium that Henry was standing on]
Henry: You've successfully gained admission into the academy. I won't ask how you feel about this but let's cut to the chase. What are you're two wishes?
[All eyes were focused on him, he who bested the last of the girls and got the final victory the boys needed to win, to make his wish]
[Aiden kept quiet for a moment, he began to contemplate, then looked sir henry dead in the eyes and said]
Aiden: My first wish is...
