As the group ate, silence filled the air as the food was delicious. Even War God had think twice about how good the food was. The Ancient Zuggurant would rip a leg off and eat the leg. Once the last leg was devoured, he broke the head off and ripped it apart with his hands. The poisonous glands still intact was carefully extracted.
There were two just slightly smaller than a basketball. One was a black color, the other was a red color. Both had a vein to each fang that injected the poison.
"My good friend, I hope these poisonous glands help you in the future." The two were set on a platter and delivered to Rex.
"What do these two poisonous glands have in them?" Rex asked.
"The red glands has a paralysis poisonous. It usually will affect a humanoid for up to three hours. A beast depending on the size and race up to two hours. The beast or humanoid will die of suffocation before the paralysis is over.
As for the black glands, it is a spitting poison for the spider. It will spit out it's poison to other spiders who do not belong in the family circle. Once a spider becomes almost two hundred years old, the youngest use it to kill the eldest use increase their poison." The Ancient Zuggurant replied happily.
"These seem like wonder treasures. I will gladly take them. I hope that you will remember me in the future if you come across anymore." Rex replied.
"Of course. I have about six hundred of them living around the area. We kill about one a week unless at these twenty batches of spiders of born a year. Usually we have fifteen but we keep them around that number to prevent them from trying to actually hunt." The shortest man replied.
"Marvelous indeed." Rex happily spoke.
This put a smile on the Ancient Zuggurant's face.
"I know I hate to be a party pooper. I would like to fight you and see how well my Qi affects you. Of course, that is only if you accept." Rex spoke.
"I will accept. It has been a while since I got to fight. Although, judging by your character I would hate it if you used your full strength on me. I would hate to make it a fight for real." The gloominess on the face was surreal.
"I will announce if I am trying to use my full strength. That way, I can watch to see how you would deflect my strikes. I too would hate it to have it become a fight for real." Rex's voice was full vigor and telling how strong he is.
Smiling faces filled the table once again. The supper continued with no problems. Once everyone had their filling on the main course. Dessert was brought out.
"We call these sweet cakes." The shortest man spoke.
"Oh delicious! Make sure to bring the toppings as well." The Ancient Zuggurant spoke happily.
"Of course. However, I believe that a quick test taste in order before we bring the toppings out. This is to ensure that everyone can at least eat these." The shortest man spoke saddened.
When the plates were brought around. Rex could have sworn what was on his plate was pancakes with butter on each piece.
He cut into the first. The richy and sweet taste filled his mouth. Then the softness of the sweet cake was there.
"I would like some toppings please." Rex spoke in a joyful tone.
War God tried it. She was happy with the sweet cakes as they were. She decided to at least try some toppings on a piece or two of the sweet cakes.
"I will try some of the toppings as well." War God spoke.
"WONDERFUL! ABSOLUTELY WONDERDUL!" The Ancient Zuggurant was overjoyed.
"We shall bring them immediately." The shortest man replied.
Strawberry like things were brought first in bowls. It looked like at least three were cut into quarters. Then small bowls of a syrup were brought.
"These red fruits are called 'the lips of the woman'. This is due to a man and woman kissing, instead the man kissed the fruit hence the name. While the syrup is squeezed for the local trees and given proper treatment to be eaten." The shortest man spoke.
Rex put together one of the lips of the woman and sure enough it did look like a woman puckering up.
"Weird. I have never heard of these. Unless this is just another change from when I fought against the Dark Abyss. Even that does not make sense." Rex mumbled.
"Something wrong?" The Ancient Zuggurant asked worried.
"Oh nothing. It is just that I have never heard of the fruits before. I feel like that something was indeed wrong with the fruits." Rex replied.
"Well, if you truly want to know about them. I can explain a little about them."
Rex nodded.
"Very well, we shall begin the story." The Ancient Zuggurant replied and then took a bite.
