The merchant's carriage
"So what should we give the man who helped us?" The merchant man asked the two women in the carriage with him.
One was a middle-aged woman who wore plain clothing. The jewelry on her ears and neck were extremely valuable.
"That our a question for our youngest daughter." The middle-aged woman said.
The father looked at the woman beside his wife. She wore a little bit of fancy clothing and the jewelry on her ears and neck were nice but not as valuable as her mother's.
"I do want to form a contract with him. It seems impossible for now." The woman was shy.
"Dear, sometimes the most valuable asset is what you put in the contract. It may not always be the right way for people but when another merchant sees him. They would sign everything he wanted, needed, or even family members." The mother said.
The father went over to his daughter.
"You are still a chastened lady. I want the best for you. If you do decide to write a contract with him, make sure he understands everything inside it and make two copies of it. One for us, one for him, and you keep the original. That way nothing bad happens." The father said.
"Thank you mother."
"Thank you father."
The carriage's inside was silent the entire way to the city where Rex and his women were currently staying.
Meanwhile
Rex decided on his way to the next town to turn around and deal with the vicious beasts and their controllers.
The first part of the Merchant Quest was to either help the daughter survive or join the son.
While most people sided with the son, the few who joined the daughter's side actually managed to kill the son. This made thousands upon thousands of people upset.
Rex was the only one who got to stay beside the daughter until her Merchant Store was fully developed.
Then came the second part of this Quest. Find the people who killed her parents. This was easier said than done. All records show that vicious beasts killed her parents while the carriage went away.
Rex had two leads to find the people and neither one showed any results. He did not know if it was because the people had already left or not.
Now with the goal in mind. He dashed into a wooded area. These woods were where the beasts came from to attack both carriages.
The first place Rex checked was a cave. When he stepped inside. Howling from the vicious beasts were heard. Then yelling to charge out.
Rex smiled. He simply wanted to end one of the Quests he never got a chance to.
Upon nearing the exit. The vicious beasts stopped. They sensed a great evil near the exit. They could not move at all.
People yelling behind them did not change the fact that a great evil was in front.
Rex released just a little Demonic Qi. This let the people know a demon was in front. This made them piss their pants.
"When I say, use everything possible to kill the demon." A cloaked figure barely got off.
The smell of fresh piss could be smelt. Even the vicious beasts began to piss themselves.
"Such funny tactics. Is pissing a new way to make people care for you?" Rex asked.
A single step forward. Instantly, made the vicious beasts nearly jump into the people's arms.
The beasts that missed got punch shockwave in the skull. Blood, blood stains, and the blood smell began to fill the cave. There was no longer a piss smell but from the looks on the people's faces. They were hoping for more pissing moments. This made the vicious beasts go crazy. The people were instantly attacked by the beasts.
Once the beasts had killed the people who controlled them. Rex began to slaughter the beasts so that no one else had to deal with these beasts.
Once the final beast had been slain. Rex lit the entire cave on fire. He hoped to burn everything and everyone. He did not want any beasts getting stronger by eating these beasts.
Once everything had been burned. Rex moved to the next location. When he did, he saw one of the few people who could match his battle prowess as an only Body Cultivator maxed in the Fourth Realm.
"Such a fine day." Rex said.
He gently walked to the man. He was wearing a wore out overcloak. A straw hat that barely was put together. He was not wearing a shirt. The shorts he was wearing was better described as underwear with how thin and faded they were.
"On such fine days, what makes people fight to the death?" The man asked.
"Depends what is worth fighting for." Rex said.
The man looked at Rex. He felt the dots connect together for him finally. He found the reason to fight not just to win and kill or win for gambling. He found the reason to keep strengthening himself for the better.
"Such great wisdom at such a young age. Please tell me how young you are?" The man asked.
"My age is not something you can account for. I have traveled through Time and Space to achieve my current strength. During those times, I felt how bad it is to leave people you care about somewhere else untouchable. I can be in a different Mortal Realm and still save all of my Soul Mate." Rex said.
"My such interesting stories must be told right?" The man asked.
"Only if we have the chance to fight when you are stronger. Currently, you are weak. Being from the Fourth Realm does not allow you to slow down your progress. It should hasten you to increase your strength. People climb high and reach further. It may not always be the best solution. It is the only one we currently have." Rex answered.
The man stood up and turned around. Rex could see everything. The man picked up a fresh set of clothes. He tied his hair and spun around.
Rex was honestly surprised to see him in the current clothing. The clothing meant he was ready for death or that death followed him.
"I announce that the next time we meet. We shall fight to the greatest of both of our abilities." The man said and left.
Rex was honestly proud to have seen him here. Now he could honestly have a great protector in his city.
