Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 (The start of a kingdom)

As a merchant, Jomei did not deal with the slave trade, but he tried to help slaves achieve freedom and at his own risk hid slaves that ran away. I told Siraj that Jomei's actions, although noble, were water in the bucket. I think I know what Jomei may be feeling something like 'if now I have power, why can't I help those around me?' Jomei is not sure what to do and how to do it. So I suggested to Siraj that he gave a mission to his follower to silently spread his faith.

So Jomei gradually turned the oppressed into thousands of priests of Siraj. Then, he overthrew the city where he lives at, and the next, until Siraj's faith ruled all the central region. Some may ask, how a bunch of divine alchemists become warriors.

They became divine magicians, not alchemists. They used the domain of Siraj to use a combat power created by him for them to use. It was a plasma ray. A very complicated spell created by Siraj that the priest can use automatically. It was complex because it involves making the plasma not emit any toxic radiation, making it emit light, making it seem cooler, and making plasma make a ray-like trajectory. The spell was accompanied by several useful variations.

Jomei's government plan ended up being composed basically of the suggestions I gave to Siraj. To change society forever quick and precise action may be more effective than long gradual reforms, which sometimes tend to go forward and backward.

All the slave owners were forced to pay salaries for the slaves that worked for them, making several very rich merchants go bankrupt, slave tailors started to become the joined owner of the places they work and lived at. And this financial compensation happened to all the slaves in different professions. Nobles that never actually paid their farmers were forced to compensate them financially, and their land, which was usually theirs only by the arbitrary use of force, was divided among the farmers.

Jomei also introduced the four-crop rotation system. And the owners that tortured their slaves were imprisoned and the r***st executed. and obviously, the slave trade was forbidden, and all related to it were executed as well.

I was thinking of telling Siraj to fix the soil problem in the region using vulcanic eruptions but to do this the local population need to go. Siraj said that he would do it, but he did not know of a way to transport all these people I came up with using ships, so I gave him a design for him to pass to Jomei. Siraj made all his priest dream about the volcanic eruptions, which Jomei has the solution for.

It was a monumental task with practically all adults helping to do something. To make the process easier I created new tree logs, made of wood from the fairy world and I said Siraj to make them appear to the people. Why such magical logs? Just to make the ships have something legendary in them and it becomes a cool story in the future.

People were taking too long to complete such a hard job, so I asked Siraj to send a qi wave and make it enter the workers' bodies and revitalize them.

These events became a myth being referred to as: the night of prophecies, the wood miracle, the qi miracle, and the greatest voyage.

So people went out of that region and occupied a fertile plain covered by rocky mountains and the perfect place to open a port. The plain was in the southeast part of the continent, being close to the beehuman continent.

After completing their foothold there and making a port, a rejuvenated civilization was established. They started conducting intense sea trade and quickly became the human sea hegemony.

The cities were well-planned. The port city and capital have an awe-inspiring temple in the center in honor of Siraj. The people want to use the wealthy resources from the mountains but in the end, Siraj ended up wanting to give them the materials to do it, and so he did.

As Jomei tried to understand his god domain better, some people were saying that was the sun, but deep down he knows it was not; he asked his god in prayer, what god he was and Siraj answered that he was the god of 'the sun, the moons, the planets, and the comets, being the god of everything on it'. So Jomei thought that Siraj was the supreme god. Siraj said that he was not, but that the closes to what a supreme god is, would be Siraj's father and creator.

So a temple was built in honor of the creator. Sira has commented with Jomei about the other gods, so all gods, in the end, got at least a simple temple at the capital, even completely unknown gods like Arche and Themis.

Slave trade will probably have to work only by land routes because for this sea hegemony slave trade and piracy is the same thing. Siraj said to Jomei by telepathy, to make with some sailors a mission to the deeper sea, and then Jomei started this multi-continent trade, so Sitaj not only gave Jomei the wealth that he wanted but also a lot more. Jomei also spread in the beehuman kingdom the faith of Siraj a bit. The rocky mountains are filled with minerals like iron, gold, silver, and so on...

Jomei was crowned as Jomei I, the faithful, king of the Great Siraj kingdom.
