(''Sorry, I don't think I heard you correctly, could you repeat that?'')
(''Sure. Would you like me to heal your veins?'')
How?! I'm sure its possible with the best healers in Kine but aside from that there is no way a small girl like her should be able to heal bruised veins.
(''Are you pulling my leg, haha. There is no way you can heal my veins.'')
She reached into the sachet swinging by her shoulder and took out a small diamond shaped vial. Inside swirled a glistening blue liquid that gently moved in circular patterns.
(''This is the elixir I was talking about. With this we saved your eyes and we could also heal your veins. Though it would take few minutes after consumption.'')
A few minutes?! That's way too quick, there is no way that this would work right? Absolutely not…but what if…
(''Alright I'll drink it, but I'm not fully believing it will work. And how did you know about my bruised veins?'')
She giggled and placed a finger of her lips, motioning me to stop asking questions. Her hand stretched forward offering me the blue elixir. I could feel the edges of my mouth quivering as I slowly brought the tip of the vial to my lips. The cold liquid slithering down my throat into my core, spreading its icy roots through my veins. I felt the effects of it almost immediately as my core fired up again with frin.
My hand swung forward in an attempt to conjure a ball of shadow but all I was met with was a *poot*.
(''Hahaha. God you are so silly. I told you it would take a few minutes.'')
Great, my veins were burning but she made sure my cheeks shared in the heat. Why are all the girls I meet like to tease me?
I felt my figure shrink down to take up as least space as possible as I walked towards an empty seat at a long table. My fingered wrapped around the rim of the intricately carved chair. The red cushion was quite comfy, wrapping itself around my butt while not competely sinking it to it.
Beside me, the young girl sat down and placed her satchel down. She turned her head and smiled at me while sliding her arm in front of me. She tapped the table before opening her mouth. (''You know, you haven't even asked about my name. Are you not interested in being friends with me?'')
Shit. That's right I forgot to ask…actually that's not even my fault. I received a lecture that lasted hours on end righ after nearly being killed. I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask for future reference.
(''What is your name young girl?'')
She giggled again, almost as if she was hiding something from me, though I know nothing about her to just that.
(''Blossom.'')
Blossom? That's quite cute, really suits her. She can easily captivate anyone who looks at her like a flower. And I didn't want to think about it until now but she does give off a floral fragrance. In a few years she could even challenge Lucet in terms of beauty.
(''And what's with the young girl thing?'')
Huh? I guess it's weird for me to say that when I'm only eighteen. (''I'm sorry, I guess it must've sounded pretty awkward.'')
(''If anyone heard they would laugh at you haha.'') Her smile was contagious, before long I found myself joining her.
(''What do you mean though? It's a simple mistake anyone would make right?'')
Blossom tucked her golden locks of hair behind her long ears while staring at me, clearly getting the reaction she wanted.
(''You are an elf?! That's amazing, its an honor to finally meet one!'') I instantly reached for her hand, shaking it frantically up and down.
(''How old do you think I am?'')
Well if I had to guess I would say about fifteen or sixteen. Her appears does look quite young so that should be a safe guess.
(''Fifteen.'')
Pfft.
(''Hahahaha. Maybe you got affected by the blue light after all! Haha'')
How does she always make me feel so embarrassed.
(''...Twenty-five.'')
(''I wasn't even that far off-'')
(''Two-Hundred and twenty-five.'')
(''What?!?!! There is no way someone as young as you can be that old! You don't even have a big ches-'')
Shit. Nearly said it right in her face.
(''Finish.'')
Huh.
(''Finish what you were going to say. I dare you.'')
In the palm of her hand a reddish mist built up which overflowed onto the floor. What the hell is that-
Cough.
Cough. Cough.
Ghh.
I gripped my throat trying to get out that smoky sensation. No matter how hard I gasped for air nothing but the red mist would flow in. What the hell is this shit?!
(''Never comment on a girl's cup size kid. Now get up, the waiters are about to come out with our food.'')
She snapped her fingers and the smoky sensation instantly dispersed reverting my throat to how it was minutes ago. These elves are powerful, I can see why they keep their magic hidden from outsiders. If it were to fall into the wrong hands it could spell the end of empires.
That's why I must learn all of these techniques, though I have a faint idea of what she did. Did she use the formula from before to alter the state of her frin into a poisonous gas? If so that is some really advanced art that not even Lucet would be aware of.
Through the double doors to the left of our long dining table came a fleet of waiters holding various colourful platters. Each large silver disk was sat in between two table candlesticks and bottles of wine.
Before long everyone stood up, I didn't want to be the odd one out so I followed suit. Everyone started shaking hands with eachother and thanking one another. From my seat I could faintly make out what they were saying, it was relating to gathering the ingredients.
This is quite different than what I was used to, though I guess us praying to the Lord of Harvest wasn't much different.
Everyone sat down filled their plates up with whatever they could grab. If it was just Zeraf and I here the whole table would've been on our plates but these people seem to be somewhat polite and courteous going as far as offering me their favourite bits.
I looked down at my plate which was full of colours. I recongnised a handful of the ingredients but there were some that were foreign to me. On the side of the small plate was a blue mushroom which had its stalk cooked to a golden brown. My fork slid right through, latching itself onto the mushroom.
Oh my god. This is divine. I couldn't stop myself from devouring it whole in two bites. These people here can outmatch even the chief's wife!
There was a piece of venison covered in what seemed mushroom sauce. They must really like mushrooms down here. I bit down on a piece of venison, my teeth sliced through it with a bit of force but the flavour instantly flooded my tastebuds. The mushroom hadn't even overpowered the earthy venison taste.
It would be worth asking about their recipe later for future occasions. Aside from this, there was a small plate with mashed potatoes. One with gravy, various different coloured kinds of cheese and grapes. Bread found its way between all of the different silver plates, mainly untouched by the adults.
I should finish my own food first before grabbing more, don't let your temptations get to you Abby!
==================================================
(''Woahh that was great! Do you guys eat that all the time Blossom?'')
She smiled back at me and nodded her head. In her hand, she held the piece of cloth she had used to cover my eyes. I guess it has to be done, this time it should be better than before.
I turned around and let her tiny hands wrap around my head as she tied the blindfold. The world had once more been plunged into darkness, this time I was fully conscious. Woah. I still couldn't get used to my lack of balance when my sight is being taken. As a darkness magic user, you would think that I would fare better than this.
(''Let me take you to your room. We are going to rest and in the morning we can offer you some training in our secret arts. As well as provide some training in fighting without sight.'')
These guys are quite skilled! Are they accustomed to fighting blinded? That's seriously an incredible level of skill that I wouldn't hope to achieve on my own. I'll take this opportunity with glee!
She grabbed my arm and pulled me along with her, I got an idea of how far she could step on her own feet so I should fare better at walking this time around.
(''Our house isn't too far, that's where we will be sleeping tonight.'')
That's good, I'm incredibly tired. Some sleep will be great-
(''What do you mean WE?'')
(''WE are spending the night together silly.'')
