"Hehe, do you think that I'm so naïve?" The Gang Leader forced out a laugh as he slammed the end of his staff behind, hitting on the wall.
Kacha!
A clanking noise sounded in the air as if a secret mechanism had been activated. This immediately made Bryan and his gang cautious, checking around to see if there were any traps triggered.
Nevertheless, they didn't notice anything different. Instead, a burning smell drifted inside their noses.
"What did you do?" Mike couldn't help but ask.
"Who knows?" The Gang Leader replied mysteriously.
"Humph! Tell them that you burned away the evidence." Cayden slapped ahead, blowing the gang leader straight toward that wall.
Boom!
A large hole was created, and one could spot a new room inside. There were a bed, desk, chair, bookshelves, and a few electrical appliances that Cayden couldn't recognize at the moment.
Nonetheless, almost all of them were blazing, creating popping noises and exploding once in a while.
"Who are you? What do you want? I don't think I have ever offended you." A bloody naked man with many burns on his skin stood up with great difficulty and questioned.
He was trembling all over. He was scared. He didn't have a single ounce of confidence after getting beaten in this manner.
"Haha, didn't you just refuse to answer me?" Cayden chuckled, nearing closer to him, one step at a time.
"You…" The Gang Leader was speechless.
"Anyways, I have decided to cut you off. As for your secrets, they are worthless to me. You are just an ant in my eyes." Cayden declared coldly, sending shivers down his spine.
"What do you know about me? You bastard! Don't get cocky!" The gang leader yelled crazily, pouring all his mana into the staff.
"Descend! The Great Demon!"
Boom!
The runes on the floor shone brightly, coming to life and the skeletons began rattling. A fissure in space appeared above it, from where a black mass of gas seeped into the skeletons.
Clack! Clack!
Parts of the skeletons separated which then steadily combined, forming a tall giant, reaching all the way to the ceiling.
It had a hundred arms, legs, and heads with enormous mana radiating from them.
"My God! It should be a rank A creature." Mike exclaimed in astonishment.
"Fall back!" He ordered.
"Kill them!" How could he let them escape? The Gang leader commanded, slumping on the floor.
It seems like he had exhausted everything with this move. He didn't even have a trace of mana left to protect him from the flames that were still raging.
"Haiz, what a futile struggle!" Cayden sighed nonchalantly.
Afterward, he jumped in the air, appearing right next to the head of the giant. Then he made a chopping motion with his right hand, slicing its neck in one go.
Bang!
Those hundred skulls crashed down on the ground, destroying the head completely.
"Come"
He instantly entered his hand through the hole made in the neck, forcibly grabbing the dark mass of gas that was controlling the giant.
"Stop!" A feeble voice full of resentment sounded from within. But would the Heavenly Demon care?
"A dead should better stay dead." He scoffed.
"No!" The giant raised its hands, wanting to throw him away. Yet, it was too late.
The hands abruptly paused as the black mass was dragged out entirely.
The moment it happened, all the bones fell down on the floor with a bang and the runes also died down along with them.
Cayden too landed on the ground and greedily gazed at the thing in his hand.
"Who could have thought that I would encounter such a good thing here?" Licking his lips, he devoured it without any hesitation, driving it in the direction of his divine temple.
There his spark of divinity took action, corrupting the soul inside the black mass, slowly destroying it. The process took a couple of minutes while he kept on hearing unwilling roars.
Soon they turned into whimpers and disappeared, leaving behind a pure ball of spiritual energy.
"Now, it's time to leave." He opened his eyes, returning back to his senses.
"Eh! He is still breathing!" Noticing the charred body of the Gang Leader, he was surprised.
"Is your secret more important than your life?" He shook his head.
Sucking in a huge amount of air, he blew it with a tremendous amount of power, dissipating the flames at once.
Whoosh!
Once everything became quiet, he made his way inside, hoping to catch some clues. However, he suddenly felt something crawling on his feet, stopping him from moving.
When he glanced down, he perceived it was the hands of the Gang Leader and heard him murmuring.
"They will never let you go."
"Who?" He was calm as ever.
Nevertheless, there was no further response as the Gang Leader's breath faded away.
"Trash!" He kicked his body, sending it flying.
Bam!
Coincidentally, a small compartment was revealed at the place where the Gang Leader was struck.
Piles of gold bars were lined up, dazzling him. Next to them, a weird dark token with a symbol of a bloodied skull was kept.
"Was he working for some type of cult?" He guessed, fiddling it with his hand.
"Maybe the others might now." Not putting the gold in his eyes, he came out of the room, meeting with Bryan and his gang.
"Lord, did you finish him off?" Mike was the first one to open his mouth since he really cared about the gang.
"Humm." Cayden nodded.
Confirming it, Mike became downhearted.
Although he didn't like the Gang Leader, he didn't want him to fall in this way. Now, what will happen to the gang? Will they get gobbled by the other gangs? The Poisonous Viper Gang had been eyeing them for a long time.
The driver also had a similar expression. Besides, they needed the Gang Leader to take revenge for the earlier incident.
Only Bryan looked somewhat fine. This was because he had expected this. In addition, he decided to bury the feeling of revenge deep inside his heart.
Seeing how unfathomable the man in front of him was, he knew that there was no hope. Especially, witnessing the scene of how fast the supposed rank A monster was dealt with.
"He is definitely an immortal." He was sure.
"Have you guys seen this token?" Only when Cayden spoke, did they wake up from their stupor.
"Nope." They replied at the same time.
"Perhaps the guilds might have an answer," Bryan added.
"Ok! I will leave it to you." Cayden passed it to him without any worries.
This was because except for the material, there was nothing extraordinary in it.
"I will do my best." Bryan bowed solemnly while having some ideas. "For now, I should try getting closer to him."
"There is no hurry. Find me a place to stay foremostly. It should be a quiet one where nobody can disturb me." Cayden commanded sternly.
"Please, follow me." Bryan led the way.
Cayden was about to join him when he abruptly remembered something. "I will leave the matter of the gang to you, Mike."
"I understand." Mike nodded meekly.
"You don't need to get so distressed. Just spread the news that the Gang Leader was ambushed and passed away when he was leaving for the Poisonous Viper Gang to seek an answer." Cayden gave him instructions, realizing his concerns.
"If someone gets scared and wants to leave as a result, then let him go. Others can continue doing what they were doing. If there are problems, you can't handle, you can always contact me through Bryan. I will be staying here for a period of time."
"Lord, are you taking the post of the Gang Leader?" Mike's face changed 180 degrees. His heart was pounding with joy. With the Lord taking over the hem, who would dare to make trouble here?
"You can consider whatever you want." Cayden waved his hand, showing an annoyed look.
"Oh yeah! I forgot to remind you guys that there is some wealth inside. Clean that up and destroy this whole place." He left, not waiting for their reply.
"We will work hard." Mike and the driver had their mood uplifted. But they didn't know that a bigger bombshell was waiting for them inside. This also made them break out in a cold sweat.
Indeed, it was due to the illegal gold. Who knows whether they can exchange it safely without alerting the military?
A while later, in a beautiful one-storied conspicuous-looking house that was near the pavilion, Cayden appeared with Bryan.
"My Lord, I believe this place would satisfy you. I heard that the Gang Leader used to stay here previous to moving into the underground shelter. Currently, it has been abandoned for months, and nobody comes here." Bryan explained.
"It's good. You may leave now." Cayden was pleased.
"Lord, please wait." Bryan hesitated before calling out.
"Humm, what's the matter?" Cayden responded emotionlessly.
Bryan took a deep breath, getting used to the Lord's voice. Albeit still a bit scary.
"There are many things in this world that you have yet to recognize and learn. Why don't I show you around? For example, we have a tool for displaying the news from all over the world…."
In this way, the most terrifying existence in the Myriad Realms, the Heavenly Demon Lord learned about the existence of television and soon got addicted.
