Chapter 12 - Terror Of The Heavenly Demon

Along with Cayden's speech, a dark green vapor of spiritual energy drifted into the air through his mouth, creating astonishing might. The space was locked, it was impossible to breathe or speak, the mana in their bodies disappeared into nothing, and a heavy pressure enveloped the room.

Clatter!Clatter!

The glass windows shattered on the spot and all the furniture except his chair creaked, breaking down into pieces while everyone dropped to their knees. Even Bryan wasn't spared.

"You.." Igor could only blurt out one word despite being a rank A warrior.

This showed how strong the coercion was for others. Especially, for Ellie and Bryan who were already panting with red faces, gasping for breath.

As for the manager and the chiefs, they were a bit better since they were isolated in another room and Cayden didn't bother paying attention to them.

Tick!Tick!

There was a pin-drop silence on the top floor as the clock kept ticking, indicating the passage of time. Only after a minute, did he blow a cold breath, diffusing the spiritual pressure.

Cough!Cough!

Everyone could gradually catch their breath and lie down on the floor. It was too terrifying. Just a single breath was enough to kill them all. They couldn't believe it. After all, they have never heard about even S-ranked warriors having such capability.

"Is he a newborn S-ranked warrior with the ability to manipulate air?" Igor and Ellie muttered, turning towards each other with ugly faces.

However, if Bryan knew their assumptions, then he would laugh his ass off. They were too naïve to think of the possibilities of powerful beings existing above rank S. Their knowledge was limited to the Earth and the worlds inside the spatial storms.

He too was the same prior to meeting the Heavenly Demon, Cayden. Now, he was eventually getting closer to understanding what a true powerhouse meant.

So, when they asked the same question to Cayden, he simply shook his head with pity.

"Rank S? Haha, you guys think too low of me." Cayden scoffed in disdain.

"What do you mean?" They didn't understand him at all.

"I'm too lazy to explain it. Just tell me whether I am guilty or not?" He gazed at them playfully.

They gritted their teeth in unease, feeling that they might really perish here if their answer didn't satisfy him. It seemed like the man in front of them didn't fear the guilds or the Military.

Only S-rank experts can have such a demeanor.

"Perhaps, I should give up for now and later contact my superiors. I believe that they will make the right decision by forcing him into the military. Such a talented individual cannot be wasted here. With an additional S-rank expert, we might be able to get back our lands." Having these shrewd thoughts, Ellie calmed down.

She stood up steadily and respectfully bowed. "I am sorry for doubting you. With your strength, there is no reason for you to be a cultist. The Skull token speaks volumes. The Gang Leader must be in the wrong."

"Aren't I right? Swordmaster Igor?" She wanted to help him as well.

"Who knows? An investigation must be done. I trust that the S-rank experts in the police force will take care of this matter personally." Igor had a frustrated look all over his face.

Who could have imagined that he would be so powerless against him? He lost all his face.

Ellie's face changed, listening to his reply. He was simply putting all the blame on her, implying that she had rank S warriors behind her back. Also, signifying that he shouldn't act arrogantly as there were people capable of stopping him.

"Is that so?" Catching the glimpse of hatred and bloodlust radiating in his eyes, Cayden's expression became colder, sending chills down everyone's spines.

He stood up with his temperament changing, returning to normal i.e., the color of his hair and pitch-black eyes glowing as if he wanted to devour them alive.

"Let me see if they can stop me."

A strong killing intent flashed past, focusing on Igor.

"What?" Igor felt his vision darken as he found himself surrounded by a sea of blood.

"Illusion?" He hastily cut through the space ahead of him, swinging his katana rapidly, making hundreds of strokes in a couple of seconds.

Nevertheless, they were all futile. The space was as stable as ever.

"Don't tell me he teleported me somewhere?" He started sweating.

The fear inside him continued growing when he saw hands made of blood popping out from below one after another.

"What?" His mana burst out like a volcano, cleaving everything in sight with his enormous sword energy.

Next, he started swimming away in the river. Yet, it was endless. Likewise, the hands didn't cease emerging.

Soon, he ran out of gas, and the hands forcibly dragged him down while endless voices of resentment sounded in his ears.

"Ahhh!"

"Cayden, I will never let you go."

"Husband, why? Didn't you love me?"

"Stop! Demon! You dare refine us into a pill."

"My vitality? Ahh! What did you do?"

He clutched his ears and closed his eyes, hoping that he would return shortly. Nonetheless, it was all for naught. He slept peacefully, never walking up ever again.

"What happened?" Ellie and Bryan cried out in shock.

Seeing the swordmaster abruptly sweating, releasing his mana, twitching, and falling unconscious on the floor in the span of a second, scared them out of their wits.

"Did you do something?" Ellie definitely knew he had some hands in it. But she couldn't confirm it as he didn't make a single suspicious movement. It was weird.

"He's a god!" Bryan swallowed his saliva in awe.

"Who knows? Maybe he might wake up in a couple of hours." Cayden smirked, leaving the room overbearingly.

"Miss. I will be leaving too. Take care." Bryan politely bowed and left helplessly.

"Damn! What will happen to us from now on? We have offended both the guilds and the military." He cursed.

"Besides, I have yet to pass on that letter." He put his hand inside his inner pocket and sighed.

His life was becoming a mess.

Outside the Sky Restaurant, the cop driver saw two men exiting and was surprised since he recognized Bryan. As for the extraordinary young man next to him, it was certainly the Gang Leader.

"Why are they here first? Did they finish their conversation? Why is it so fast?"

While he was pondering, he perceived the young man turning his head in his direction.

Peering at those eyes, he trembled immediately and had a bad premonition.

"Is she ok?" He called his ma'am straight away.

Meanwhile, Cayden questioned, "How many of them were supposed to be coming here?"

"Five," Bryan reported.

"Why were there just three?" Cayden frowned.

"Eh! Weren't they only two?" Bryan was puzzled.

"Humph! The others might be creating issues in the gang. Let's rush there." Cayden commanded with a dangerous light glinting in his eyes.

Brayan nodded as he started the car.

On the way, Cayden suddenly asked, "What do you know about the cult?"

"They are said to be a group of people that worship various evil gods. They set foot on Earth from various worlds located in the spatial storms. I heard that they gain power through sacrifice. That's why they come here to cause trouble." Bryan told everything he knew.

"They cause chaos like the incident in Z-city and sneakily ambush our warriors, capturing them for offerings. They are cruel and hideous. Recently, there was news of them awakening like us using some forbidden potions."

"I see. Those evil gods must be some type of immortals. Alas, how could I have been so dumb to not notice them previously? They all have roots in the mortal realm." Cayden realized it late.

"Anyways, do you have an extra set of robes?" How could the Heavenly Demon appear wearing a dirty set of clothes?

"I have already prepared it beforehand." Bryan passed it to him from his spatial storage.

"You are good. I can provide you with some benefits if you keep working harder." Cayden praised him.

"I will." Bryan's eyes lit up with expectation.

In the Skull Gang's headquarters, the atmosphere was stiff. The gang members were standing with solemn expressions gazing at Skylar, who was creating problems everywhere he went.

He would occasionally catch someone and question them threateningly. Later, he would smack them for not giving reasonable answers. Although he didn't kill them, he would break at least a few of their bones.

This forced Boss Mike to take action. He unleashed his superpower, turning his body to a steel plate, fighting head-on with Skylar.

But Skylar was shameless. He nimbly dodged all his moves like a snake, while releasing poisonous mist from the pores of his skin. Thus, Mike was getting slowed, had headaches, and weakened as time passed.

This was the substantial difference between their superpowers. Despite the fact that both were B-rank experts, the gap between them was extremely huge. Therefore, Skylar was in a higher position as a gang leader while Mike was just a lackey.

If Martin hadn't intervened in time, Mike would have really fallen.

"Skull Gang! Haha! Kneel before me." Skylar released his pent-up emotions, bullying the gang members thoroughly.
