It's been two weeks ?
Maybe more. But who's counting! Not me definitely not me!.
It was a bright sunny morning. I moved the blinds away so I could get a better view of the environment.
"April!!" Daddy yelled downstairs.
I went into the bathroom and I was out in a few minutes.
"April!!! Breakfast!!!" Dad yelled again for the second time.
"Be down in a sec" I yelled back. I wore a short pleated skirt and a big hoodie then I packed my hair in a ponytail picked my phone and ran down the stairs.
"Good morning dad" I smiled at my dad and took my seat opposite him.
"Morning princess". He said
We held hands and prayed. It has been our family tradition for a long time, before each meal we say thank you to God for providing.
"Uhnmmm pancakes" I said rubbing my hands playfully. "Where's the syrup" I asked taking the first bite.
"Kitchen". Dad said simply.
After breakfast I cleared the table and did the dishes. I went to sit beside my dad in the living room.
"So I've been thinking" he began, " it's summer break and kids your age are all enrolled in holiday coaching" he added.
I knew it would come to this he has been asking me what I'll do during the holiday but ion wanna do nothing I wanna stay home and chill is that too hard to understand?.
"April" dad called me while snapping his fingers in my face.
" I kinda zoned out there" I said laughing
" hahaha, not funny. I'll be late for work if i stay with you any longer bye sweetheart." "Think about it baby imma find some good school with vibes" he added winking at me .
I just sat there with my phone.
I guess summer school isn't a bad idea.
"Hey mom" I said calling my mom on face time.
"Oh baby how are you" mom said wiping tears off her eyes.
"Mom stop being dramatic it's not even up to a month" I said rolling my eyes.
"Try letting go of your love twice" she said with a sigh.
That's literally out of point! Mom can be super dramatic at times. I laughed inwardly.
"How's Blair and Sam?" I asked my mom
"They should be fine I guess" she said not caring. "See how big you're". Mom said gasping.
"Mom" I Said laughing loud "it's just weeks".
"Wanna come honey?" Dad asked while walking pass me all dressed for work.
"No thanks" I said not leaving my Position.
"Hey Zoe it's been ages". Dad said to my mom before waving and leaving the house.
I showed my mom the house and all the rooms. We talked about pretty much everything then she left saying she's gonna be late for work.
It's literarily just 10:00 am and I was already tired of staying home and watching tv.
I went upstairs and changed into something lighter and decided to go out for a walk.
For real this neighborhood is annoying it's sooo quiet and neat with most of the people perfectly minding their business.
Every one is always in their houses with their cars parked in front.
Well I walked few miles more and saw flyers of a school everywhere "BELMONT HILL HIGH SCHOOL" it Says here. Summer school is now in session and new recruited teachers can start coming. I took out my phone and snapped the number written there.
I got back home very tired it's just 12:30pm. Why's time running slowly today I decided to do my dad's laundry and tidy up the whole house then I went to my room and brought out my diary.

So I'm here with dad it's pretty cool and I've been thinking about that plane girl though not as often as before but I miss Blair and he hasn't called neither has Samantha replied my messages.
I sent another message to Sam.
Hey girlfriend what's up? I've missed you this place is so boring no one cares about nobody here.
I decided to call Blair for the last time and surprisingly he picked at the first ring.
"Hey sweetheart" I said happily.
"Baby I've been calling I've missed you " he said being sweet.
"How's Sam ? She hasn't been online" I asked him curiously.
"She broke her knee during our last game" he said nonchalantly " but she's recovering well and yeah she's not allowed to use her phone for now" he added.
I felt so bad for Sam cos she always practices the most for each dance we do.
We are cheerleaders in school and Sam really took it serious always practicing the steps with every free time we have.
"Send my love to her" I said finally.
"I feel she deserves it cos you are the head cheerleader and she's the assistant so why practice her ass off every time?" Blair said with an attitude.
"Blair you know Sam. She loves perfection" I said with a sad face.
"Or she wants to impress miss molly for a reason." He said like he was stating the obvious.
"Whatever, send her my greetings" I said hanging up .
I went to the kitchen to find something to eat. I found leftovers of Mac and cheese I also found spaghetti in the refrigerator
I took the spaghetti and microwave it.

I woke up from the sound of my phone.
"April I'll be working late tonight so don't wait up for me go on to bed. I love you darling". Dad said to me.
"Uhnmmm.....ok dad .....bye" I slept back.

My annoying alarm kept coming to life again and again. I woke up with annoyance. I went to unlock my door and went into the bathroom for a bubble bath.
After filling the tube to the brim and I poured some lotions and bath gels I sat in the tub and allowed my body to soak and enjoy the tingling of the hot water against my skin.
It's feels soo good it's like multiple needles are piercing through my skin.
When I was done I washed the soap off my body and unclog the tube and letting hot water rinse my body.
I got out Of the bathroom applied lotion on my skin with a towel on my head holding back my hair.
After rummaging my whole closet I settled for a baggy jeans and a small jersey over it.
I left my hair and walked downstairs ready for the worst again. Yeah my life suck.
"Good morning mom" I greeted my mom who has her back bent towards the oven.
"Good morning bloom" she said not raising her head.
And of course there's my dad sprawled on the couch in his lazy outfit.
"Good morning dad" I greeted him and sat opposite him eyes glued on my phone.
"Young lady where were you yesternight?" dad asked me firmly.
I snapped my head up.
"In my room?" I said looking straight into his eyes.
"Bloom I've told you to stop locking your door from behind before sleeping" my mom said walking into the living room with a two bowls of cereal.
She gave one to me and gave the other one to dad and she passed the milk to me.
"I'm sorry dad I got used to it in school" I said looking down trying to be sober.
"Well I don't like it!" Dad said. "Stop it!" He added.
I just ate my cereal quietly.
Moments later mom came in with a tray filled with cupcakes she just baked.
"Well April your dad and I thought instead of being at home doing nothing why don't you take a job?" Mom asked me while patting my back gently.
"Yeah and I don't want you astray from education so how about teaching?" Dad asked me too backing up what my mom said.
I literarily spat out all that was in my mouth.
"Te ...teaching ????" I Stammered looking between mom and dad . "You know I'm bad with kids" I said praying so hard they give me something else . I hate kids. I don't like them.
"No sweetie". Dad said standing up he came to sit beside mom. "High school?"
He asked.
"I'll think about it" I said standing up and taking the tray of cupcakes along with me to my room.
I really don't wanna do anything but if it will take me out of this house I'll gladly do it. I entered my room and sat down on my bed it's like almost empty.
I decided to call Avery.
She answered the phone at first ring.
"Hey bunny" she said excitedly
"How's my princess charming today ?"
"I literarily just got home from ray's" she said yawning.
"Wanna face time?" I asked her.
"No, Not really I striped off my clothes and right now I'm in the bathroom if I face time I'll have to hold the phone" she said and I can bet my life on it she smirked.
"I really don't mind seeing you naked in a bathtub" I said with a evil grin plastered on my face.
"Don't be stupid bloom, think with your brain not your butt" she said laughing out loud. "Not that I don't wanna do a video call I just can't. There's water here" she continued. "Ever since I got this phone I've been careful you know this is my third one in this month" she added and finally stopped talking.
"Yeah I understand" I cut the call and called her on face time.
"Bloom!" She screamed while answering the call.
"I knew you could do it regardless of the water" I said smirking.
"If this one drops you owe me a new phone" she said putting the phone on top of something so I can have a full view of the sugar plums in front of me.
We basically talked till she was through with her bath and even scheduled a date for later in the evening .
I felt my stomach grumble, I'm hungry. I hopped off my bed with my mom's tray half way through the stairs I heard my parents Arguing. Again!
Yeah it's nothing new. I'm now used to it I snuck into the kitchen and filled my tray with cupcakes again and I saw some cookies lying sadly on the counter so I took them too cos why not, I went back to the stairs and sat down to listen to them.
Normally I don't. I just take my clothes and leave for either Avery or ray's house but since Avery and I have a little outing planned I just decided to sit and wallow in my devastated life.
"You are being hard on her" mom yelled.
"I'm I?" Dad asked sarcastically.
I hate them. Though I love my mom but she's not helping all she does is sit down and watch!.
"I'm building her!" Dad yelled again.
"Same way you built Emily?" Mom yelled back breaking down in tears.
Yeah my sister is a single mom with four kids that's why I go to her every holiday I have and she's an escape to this rotten life. Though the father of her kids sends her welfare money and he comes to check up on her he has his own family somewhere in California.
Emily dropped out of college one day before running away. She said she can't keep up with the shit dad does.
Yeah he beats my mom, uses iron on us, tear up mom clothes when he's angry.
He flares up at any little thing we do. And don't tell me that crap about pple changing.
Dad has been an asshole since day one and mom is too scared too move out and just started standing up for us after Emily's pregnancy.
Since then she has been tagged the "black sheep". But she doesn't really care . I admire her courage. She left school left dad's house and even tied her tubes after the kids.
I love Emily she's the best big sister ever. I packed what I was eating I went upstairs I didn't want to listen anymore.
I picked my phone to text Avery when Raymond text entered.
"Hey icy how was London you still haven't told me. Well tell the others no party tonight mom's coming tomorrow.
"For the umpteenth time I didn't go to London!!!!!. It's Newton alright? but at least can I come with the guys?? Alone ???🥺😫" I typed back
"Just you Avery and chad"
"fine whatever, thanks" I typed back smiling.
I stuffed a handful of cookies in my mouth while holding up a black suit.
I went downstairs to return the rest of the cupcakes and my parents were still arguing.
"Hey mom I'm off to bed" I said facing the living room while giving my dad a stink eye.
"Oh dear". Mom said trying to wipe her face.
"And where do you think you are going young lady" dad asked ready to pick a fight with me again.
I just ignored him and kept going.
"Ben that's enough she has nothing to do with this" Mom said going after dad stopping him from hitting me.
I turned back and glared at him.
"I don't understand you and I don't like you" I said leaving and going towards the stairs but I stopped halfway to see if he would hit mom after I left. I held a small Knife I was pipped up ready for anything today.
"You heard her right? Why won't she just move out like her sister did . She has already started on that path what's stopping her from being a full delinquent like her sister?" He yelled at my mom.
"Don't you dare bring that up, my kids are upright it's all your fault" mom said back.
The knife I was holding left my sweaty hands and fell in the ground.
"Oh dear I'm sorry" mom ran towards me.
She held me and led me to my room.
I don't cry! I won't cry! I promised Emily I won't Shed tears EVER!

"It's alright dear. I'm sorry" mom began "it's not your fault, you are just a victim baby I won't blame you. Ever I won't do that." Mom said rubbing my back I just sat on my bed looking straight I didn't want to shed tears.

"Don't let anyone let you think less of your self, common baby you are Bloom Anastasia Rodriguez you are strong, you are my little baby who has been keeping straight As since high school. I'm proud of you baby. Nothing changes you are still that bloom" mom said patting me with my head on her lap.
That kinda worked I feel better.
"Thanks mom". I said hugging her
"Tell Emily I love her and I'll love to meet my grandchildren. She won't pick my calls or reply my text" mom said sadly.
"I'll try I said" Turing my back.
"Going somewhere?" Mom asked looking at the tux on my bed.
" uhnmmm...I wanted to see Avery for a bit" I said still not Turning to her direction.
"It's been ages since you've been out and once you do it's always with girls. Who's Avery?" Mom asked me sitting down.
Only if you know how much I go out.
"She's ...my ....friend ???" I said unsure of my answer.
"You are 19, don't you have any other friends, don't you have a boyfriend, go to parties, go out with your friends, baby you have a life outside burying your head into books always locked up in your room".
"Ok" I said looking at the time.
"You had a life before Emily and that incident. Bloom come back to life" . Mom said trying to lighten my mood.
"Mom I have friends they are just girls and two guys" I said also sitting down.
"Bloom???" Mom called smiling.
"What ???.....I'll make friends I promise"
Why's she still here Avery is probably waiting. I whined bitterly inside.
"It's ok if you like girls"mom said gently.
"Ok??? You can go now" I closed the door and sat down then I wore my suit hurriedly.

"Mom??!!!!!" I yelled into the kitchen then the living room then I ran into their room I almost fell cos the room is directly beside the stairs.

"Come In" dad said from inside.

"You gonna sleep in that?" Dad asked "and I don't even appreciate you dressing masculine you are a female!" He added. Mom casted a dirty glance at him and he kept quiet.
I still don't understand them. I rolled my eyes and followed my mom out.
"Mom" I started, " when you said it's ok if I likes girls what did you mean?" I asked my mom looking straight into her eye.
She sighed.
"Ever since..... you know the incident you've been withdrawn and I know you were still battling with your sister's absence."
She stopped and looked at me.
"Then you went to your sister for the first time since she left when you were 17." She continued

"And I saw you making out with a girl in your room in school, I stopped by to say hi but left when I saw you were busy" she added finally looking at me.

Well I won't be going though the front door so no pressure.

I knocked at the front door and Avery's mom opened it with a big smile plastered on her face.
"What a wonderful surprise sweetheart, how have you been" Mrs carter asked drawing me into a hug.

"That's final darling. It's late". Mrs carter said and smiled at me
