Meanwhile, in the Fire realm of the Phoenix kingdom, Theon had just arrived at the door of his father's office after receiving his summon. Taking a deep breath, he knocked and the door opened on its own.
That's the thing realms. There is less you need to do since magic is wonderful but also a lot on hand at the same time.
Stepping inside, he greeted his father. "You called for me, king Orien?"
That's right, it was king for him. It has been a decade or so since this change took place. When Orien went out of the kingdom for a couple days, Theon had made good use of the freedom provided and fooled around with many women and also fooled several guards into doing his bidding.
His father, of course, found out. And since then, there has been a rift between them which none of them come forward to close. Theon had also spent a month in the dungeon, would have spent more if not for Engel and Nyx bugging Orien to release him.
The Queen never bothered since Theon wasn't her son, but the previous Queen. She never cared about him and looked for opportunities to push him down the ladder. It was because of Theon and his sister Willian that the king refused to have any children with her.
And of course, everyone knew of her hatred for the young royals on the kingdom and hence she was always locked up in her tower and denied any right to step out. It was only the king who could visit her though was once in a blue moon type of an occurrence.
Orien gestured for Theon to take a seat, which he did grudgingly, knowing full well denial wasn't a solution and a seat meant the discussion was going to be a long one.
"You haven't been to the human realm." Orien stated as a fact and Theon lightly nodded which could have unseen if not for Orien's sharp observation.
"When do you plan to meet Ivy?"
"How about never?"
The king ignored the prince's unruly remark and started, "she is mixed with lots of blood and has been through an awakening already. Engel has always been with her, and now Nyx is doing the same. She will need all three of you to gain control of what she is."
"Would be appreciated if I could get a damn mate!"
"You are to go to the human realm, Earth to be exact and see the child and how she is coming along."
"I said-"
"You are dismissed."
Theon banged his hand on the desk and stood up and the leather chair he was seated on flew on the wall and broke before catching fire and leaving nothing but ash when the door burst open and Nyx appeared.
"There have been some shadow sightings out of their territory." Rage resonated in his voice and they could feel his dragon spitting fire with how the temperature had gotten
"And are they not allowed to leave their territory ever, Nyx?!" Theon burst at him.
"They have been hovering around earth, damn it." Nyx spoke through gritted teeth.
"Theon and you will check through the defenses and have Strider get someone to project into the shadow realm and know of their sudden movements."
"Got you on that- the projection will be performed at midnight." Engel informed as he walked in and smiled, "glad to have you on the team Theon."
"Since that's all you care about."
"Get work boys." Orien ordered.
Nyx left whilst pulling and unwilling Theon with him.
"He really thinks no one cares?" Engel questioned, staring at Nyx forcing Theon.
"Only he is to blame. If only he accepts, he is wrong, will he be able to see what is right." Orien sighed looking at the ash of the leather chair.
Engel looked at Orien before sighing, "I'll send someone to get rid of it."
After Engel left, some servants walked in to collect the remains of the chair.
Engel went to Nyx and Theon, who was grumpy as always. The good thing was Theon never showed his anger and frustration towards them in the presence of others. No other royals know of the distress between them. Which was good in a way.
"how's it been?" Engel spoke lightly.
"What do you expect?" Nyx spoke fast when he saw Theon open his mouth.
Theon spouting nonsense could easily escalate into a quarrel and then a fight which right now would only waste time. Also, he didn't want this reaching Orien or Theon would end up being punished and his hatred for Ivy would only stem deeper.
Engel was too protective of Ivy and didn't like any nonsense Theon would utter about her.
"Why do you both care about her so much?" Theon asked in a very low whisper which could go unheard if not for their inhuman hearing.
"she's mine." Both, Nyx and Engel replied at the same time.
When realization hit them, they stared at each other with eyes wide as saucers and Theon's jaw dropped to the ground when he heard both their replies.
"Is that even possible?" he felt a chill run down his spine at his question as two pair of eyes looked at him with so much menace.
'Can an angel ever look so deadly?!' he questioned in his mind never expecting Engel of all people to ever look so deadly.
The three of them continued checking through the defenses throughout the globe in silence when Engel informed, more like threatened, "I found out when she was 8. We met first so I have first rights," and glared at Nyx in suspicion.
"I felt it when I took her out for lunch." Nyx informed Engel after a while.
Theon was busy eating human made ice cream, but his ears were on them and he heard whatever they had been saying. He knew what it meant and he figured out everything that happened till date. It all made sense all of a sudden.
With Engel being over-protective of her and always looking out, Nyx never was interested and did it all since he saw Engel as his brother. He also saw Theon and Willian as his siblings after his sister and parents' death. Orien being the only person present when the prophecy was brought into light took it upon himself to be of help.
Theon realized a lot, but he also knew there was a lot more that was yet to be known. For the first time he wished he was cooperative with his father to fill his curiosity of the past, present and future.
