Chapter 11 - Falcon’s Vision

"Sir, I don't understand. My father is friends with you?"

He smiled and nodded. I looked at him with the intention to ask more questions and quelling my thirst for more information. But before I could he waved his hand.

"Dear boy. If your father didn't tell you who he was then he probably had a very good reason. So I don't want to betray his trust. You will eventually find out more about your father when you rise in the ranks"

Even though I was rather disappointed there was nothing I could do, nothing but get stronger and reach the top.

"Yes, master!"

"Good boy! By the way, I have to admit. Not many humans can use the dragon's roar to relieve their fatigue. It is a technique that only about 6 humans can use in the world. And you even got it on your first try. You are talented, very talented."

"Well sir, it was thanks to my dad's training. He made me stay underwater for an hour every day."

The master seemed astonished. That was a new look on his face. All this time he seemed kind and all-knowing.

"Oh my, even the strictest training schedule isn't as strict as that! Even though your dad is an admirable man, he truly goes overboard sometimes"

I grinned. So did the master. He tapped my head.

"Alright, I'll be heading back. But before that, I will tell you the results of the second trial."

With this, all my joy and happiness turned to nervousness and worry. The master seemed to notice my anxiety and didn't carry on the suspense any longer.

"I'd like to congratulate you for finishing first, Tony"

WHAT? BUT I THOUGHT ME AND NICOLA FINISHED AT THE SAME TIME? I was filled with astonishment. But I still doubted it. I saw it myself. We finished at the same time.

"Dear boy, I have a skill called Falcon's vision. With this, I can easily see things from far away as if they are in front of me. You finished the 500 miles exactly a thousandth of a millisecond before the little girl."

Falcon's vision? No wonder I felt the master's sharp gaze! But to think that he even noticed such a difference like a thousandth of a millisecond? As expected of the master. He can accomplish the impossible.

"Not only did you finish first, but you and the little girl also set a new record! Because of this, both of you will be getting new titles."

I nodded and smiled. He did the same.

"The third trial will start in 2 hours. Get some rest now." He advised.

"Yes sir" I muttered.

He went out of the door. I lied down on the bed comfortably. It was pretty hard to sleep for the rest of the two hours. All I could think of was that I talked with the Master Annihilator and that he was close friends with my dad. It didn't really make any sense. I then forgot about that and wondered what my title would be. I hoped it would be a flashy one. Eventually, time passed by, and 2 hours passed. I felt fine. Not my best but good enough to pass the trial without too much effort.
