If a mere door had such treatments I wondered how comfortable the life of a real annihilator would be.
Once we were in, I spotted the twelve captains and the master. They were seated in similar thrones to the ones above. I seriously started to consider the fact that they had those chairs in stock.
"Well done, little heroes!" said the master approvingly, "you three will definitely grow to be amazing annihilators. With strength comes authority and with authority comes responsibility."
One of the captains came forward. He was dark-skinned and extremely muscular. He wore what looked like the skin of an alien from another race like a cloak and extremely fancy battle armor. He was bald but had a huge beard. I remember him coming forward during the announcement before the competition. He was Captain William Chameberg. He cleared his throat. Nicola waved at captains Raphael and Johannes Brownwitch. I figured they were related.
"Alright, now you three have honorary titles which even only 3 of us captains have. This means that you are going to get a lot of respect and authority in your respective annihilator squad. Don't act arrogant or complacent. Set an example to your fellow annihilators. Do your best to protect humanity. Even though it is said that the human race is dominant in the universe right now, the truth is that the other races have been preparing their forces."
We listened to him attentively.
"The races are on the brink of war. We humans can maintain peace for 3 more years at most. History will repeat itself. So you have to not slack off. The earth rests in your hands as well as ours. Be ready!"
He stopped, turned around, and sat on his throne. It was truly a difficult time for all races. The galaxy war will break out again. But this time, we humans are ready! (By the way, in case I didn't mention it, the Great War that occurred between every race in the universe was called "The Galaxy War").
The master stood up and said "Now I know that becoming top annihilators with new records and titles is a very happy time for you but you must also understand the graveness of your responsibilities. Do you understand?"
"Yes Master!" me, Nicola and Kim said together obediently.
It was the first time I heard Kim speak. His voice was silent yet very audible. This is the only way I can describe it. It was so cool.
"Very good, now you three head back. The trial will take place in a few minutes"
We obediently nodded. After I headed back out, I realized that I had been in the presence of thirteen of the most powerful humans. I prided myself on having this experience. Once I went out I eyed around the remaining candidates and tried to spot the giant who ended up third in the first trial. Of course, I easily noticed him. He was not looking happy. I checked my astromix and searched for his status. Apparently, the third strongest was also the third slowest. He had ended up third from the last. No wonder he was frowning so much.
