I got out of bed and changed from the hospital gown into my clothes immediately. I open the door and went out into the hallway. When I went out of the emergency medical camp in the moon stadium I saw that only about 200 people had passed the second trial. I looked up at the tower. The master looked at me and nodded. I nodded in reply. I looked for Nicola. She was standing in the far corner of the stadium. She didn't seem to notice me. Momentarily, Miss Carsalina came forward from the base of the tower and announced.
"The first 2 trials were to eliminate unworthy candidates. From now on there will be no elimination. All of you are chosen annihilators who will fight for humanity and Earth itself."
Everyone in the stadium gasped and gossiped. Meanwhile, a question arose in my head. What are the other two trials for?
"The remaining two trials are to rank all of you!"
Oh right! Sorry, I forgot to tell you guys. Annihilators had a ranking system based on strength as well as intellect; it was from class E to Class A. Class A annihilators were unimaginably powerful and unfathomable. They had a lot of authority which was second only to the captains and the master. I wonder which class I would fall under. Most rookies were class E and even pros among them were class C at most.
"Before the trial begins, new titles will be given to the top three finishers of the second trial. I call upon Kim Carter who took third place"
The ninja dude came forward. I checked my astromix. Apparently, he set a record too. Surprisingly this year, three rookies beat the record of the master annihilator.
"I bestow upon you the honorary title of "STEALTH NINJA"!"
I figured that his name had something to do with stealth. When I slowly passed him, I couldn't hear his footsteps. I guess the captains also sensed this peculiarity.
"I call upon Nicola Brownwitch who ceased second place and Tony Schleider who finished first!"
What? Did she call both of us together? Without further ado, I went forward. When both me Nicola reached the base of the tower, Miss Nicola announced,
"Even though Mr. Schleider finished first, the difference between him and Miss Brownwitch was negligible. As a result, both of them will be getting the same title."
Everyone gasped again. I knew why. Titles were not to be taken for granted. They hold great strength. If both of us got the same title, then it would be the first time in history that this happened. This would be an event that would be recorded in history for a long, long time. But one of the downsides is that you couldn't get rid of it even if you wanted to. I looked at Nicola. She seemed confident. Well, she did say she lived by my dad's principles.
