Chapter 46 - Chapter 46 An Unknown Enemy

"Why is the gate open? And where is Jun Haiyi?" Elder Huifan asked no one in particular as he looked around him.

Stepping into the yard of his home, he also saw the door of his home opened.

"What's going on? Is An'er with some friends?" he thought as he walked towards the opened door.

"This is?" shocked from seeing five[5] individuals laying on his floor, Elder Huifan grew angry at the uselessness of his son.

"Shung An!!" he roared as he moved towards his son, using his body figure to easily differentiate him from the other individuals who all has their faces to the ground.

Arriving beside him, he kicked him right at his left thigh.

Pa!

"You fool! What do you think you're doing getting drunk and sleeping recklessly on my floor!?" Elder Huifan shouted as he looked at his son's opened eyes, "now get yourself off my floor and take your friends out of my house!"

Getting no response from his son, he shouted louder, "are you deaf! Get yourself off my floor before I kick you out of my house!"

Still getting no response from his son, Elder Huifan began getting a bad feeling in his heart.

Turning the bodies of the youngsters laying on his floor, he was shocked to see their eyes all opened with life torch still illuminating it.

"What's wrong with them," he squatted beside the last youngster he turned over before injecting his Qi into her body.

"What's that liquid?" seeing something different from blood flowing through the youngster's blood vessels, he directed his Qi towards it before forcing it out of her body.

"Venom," he said as he looked at the yellow-colored liquid coming out of the two[2] tiny spots a few centimeters above the left ankle of the upper-stage female teenage.

"Iyhm!" groaning out as she began feeling her body again, the upper-stage female teenager felt a light pain coming from her left leg.

Seeing the young girl moving her body without any help, Elder Huifan did the same thing he did to the other four[4] paralyzed individual, his son included.

Completely getting themselves after a few minutes of gaining back control of their bodies, the five[5] youngsters began explaining what they were doing before they lost control of their bodies.

"You're saying you didn't see anything?" Elder Huifan questioned the last youngster.

"Yes," the upper-stage male teenager said, "but I know my face was turned towards the ground.

""That's because your head fell to the right, thereby, placing your face directly opposite the ground," the lower-stage female youth said.

"And how did you know that?" Elder Huifan asked his son's girlfriend.

"Because my face was in his direction before also falling," the lower-stage female youth said.

"Two[2] faces falling in a situation like this can't be a coincidence," Elder Huifan said as he walked towards the stairs to his upper room, "whoever used a snake or a poisonous object to paralyze you guys doesn't want any of you to see him."

Moving towards the rooms he hid his valuables; he felt his heart getting crushed with each room he went into.

"Ahhhhhhh!!!" he roared with bloodshot eyes as his aura smashed apart the furnitures in room containing him, "whoever you are that stole my possessions, you better hope I don't lay my hands on you! You better hope on that!!"

"Father's belongings were stolen?" Shung An felt shocked after hearing his Elder Huifan's roar, "who would be so gutsy and fearless!?"

"Shung An!" Elder Huifan shouted as he walked down the stairs.

"Father," Shung An answered mildly.

"Have you seen, Jun Haiyi?" Elder Huifan asked his son.

"He was at the gate an hour ago when Yue'er and her friends came over," Shung An conveyed to his dad.

"Yet now he's not," Elder Huifan's voice was low as he headed towards his door, "raise an emergency alarm in the village, Shung An. Get the Enforcers to lock down the village."

"Understood, father," Shung An said before following his dad and leaving the house.

"Even if you've left the village, Jun Haiyi, I swear I'll find you," Elder Huifan vowed as he went towards the Shung Clan's courtyard's gate.

"Open the gate!" walking through the street heading towards the entrance gate, he shouted from a few fts away.

"That's Elder Huifan," guard[1] said as he recognized Elder Huifan's voice.

Opening the gate as fast as possible, the guard[1] and guard[2] bowed towards the upper-stage middle aged man in front of them.

"Has anyone passed through this gate within the last hour?" Elder Huifan asked the guards.

"Only council member Shung Yun has passed within the last hour," guard[1] said to Elder Huifan.

Getting his anger climbing up at the mention of Shung Yun's name, Elder Huifan calmed himself before asking, "no other person have passed after Shung Yun?"

"Yes, Elder," the guards said.

"That means he hasn't left the courtyard," Elder Huifan thought before giving an order to the guards, "shut the gate and don't let anyone come in or go out."

"Yes, Elder," the guard[1] and guard[2] said as they did as Elder Huifan ordered them.

Getting nowhere after a night of strict searching and investigations, the Enforcers stopped the task before retreating to their daily routine.

"Where did you find this thief, junior brother?" Clan head Haoran asked Elder Huifan.

"In the western region of the village. He has a reputation as a powerful warrior who sells the hides and other parts of the beasts he kills to merchants for duan coins," Elder Huifan said with a gloomy expression on his face.

"A middle-stage Qi birth realm cultivator making use of either a poisonous snake or a poisonous object to aid him in stealing from a house with two[2] lower-stage Qi birth realm cultivators and three[3] skin realm body tempering cultivators without been seen. No matter how you look at it, it just sounds stupid," Clan head Haoran said as he looked at the sun rays entering his home through the windows, "something like that can only be done if he received help from something bigger than himself, just as theses rays pass through the windows because of the sun powering them."

"If what you said is true. That means Jun Haiyi is only a pawn," Elder Huifan said as he understood his big brother's words, "and the player must be way higher than him. It seems a higher up from any one of the clans in the village is waging a war against me."

"You should be careful, Huifan. Whoever is attacking you could've easily taken the life of your son," Clan head Haoran said.

"Must be that the attacker isn't ready for an all-out war with me," Elder Huifan said.

"That's right. You should prepare while you have the time, Huifan. An unknown enemy is way deadlier than three[3] known enemies," Clan head Haoran said as he advised his younger brother.

"I understand. But I must get back my possessions from Jun Huiyi or whoever is with it now," Elder Huifan said as he stood up from the pillow underneath him.

"Goodluck then," Clan head Haoran said as Elder Huifan left the hall.

With the warmth of the sun and the cool breeze of the wind harmonizing together in a route with trees on both sides of the road, a middle-stage male teen with a bow and a quiver hung on both sides of his waist rode a black colored horse having red irises in its eyes.

"So that's how it is," Shung Yun thought as he looked at the tattooed map on his left arm, "if the direction I'm heading is right, the area I've gone through in the tattooed map will fade away."

Figuring that out after riding for more than five[5] hours, Shung Yun was once again amazed by Pride's feats.

"What have my king been looking at throughout the past five[5] hours we've been on the road," Mangro felt confused by Shung Yun recent behavior.

"Things really do change with time," Shung Yun thought as he compared the map in his hand to the tattooed map on his left arm, "the roads and traveling routes between both maps has greatly changed."

"Riders are approaching, my king," Mangro said to Shung Yun as he looked at the four[4] horses carrying four[4] humans on them.
