"I'll inform him as soon as we're done," commander Jian said.
"That's good. Let get back to the reason we're here. We're a few months short of choosing the next under eighteen[18] genius to head to the Flowing River Sect in Yuhan Town. Is there any genius worth ignoring the rules for?" commander Nai asked.
"Shung Yun would've been one. Such a pity he has no dantian," commander Tian sighed as he looked at commander Jian.
"Commander Tian!" commander Nai called sternly.
Dragging his smiling face away from commander Jian, commander Tian turned towards commander Nai with his smile wiped off his face, "I apologize for overstepping my boundary. I'll try conducting myself so as to avoid letting it happen again."
"I hope you do," commander Nai said, "if there's no such genius, then we're done for the day."
"Is the village going to reward Shung Yun for stopping the elite soldiers level spies from Quing Village from entering the village," commander Jian asked commander Nai.
"The village chief promised to reward him if we find out the purpose of their attempt to infiltrate the village," commander Nai said as he got up from his seat.
"Looking for a free reward for your captain, commander Jian. Hehe! Better luck next time," commander Tian snickered as he walked towards the door of the military higher ups' room.
"I understand why you're always trying to get me to respond to you, commander Tian. You feel inferior to me because of the different levels between our clans, so, you feel important when someone from a powerful clan like mine speaks to you," commander Jian said to the leaving commander Tian.
"Your clan is just lucky to be ahead of my Heng clan. But that won't last for long," commander Tian said as he walked out of the room.
"Keep dreaming commander Tian," commander Jian muttered as he stood up from his seat before walking towards the door.
Twii!! Whoosh!!
"We'll call it a day," the captain of Shooting-Star Unit said as he looked at the arrow dangling about with its head piercing through the center of the wooden target, "you should take a rest."
"I don't feel tired," Shung Yun said as he picked up another arrow from the stash of arrows by his left.
"Well, I'm tired," the upper-stage male youth said as he stretched his body, "the night won't let you train properly. And the torches aren't enough to illuminate the entire training ground. You should wait for tomorrow."
"I don't know why, but shooting the arrow helps reduce the loudness of the voices," Shung Yun mumbled as he released his fingers.
Twii!! Whoosh!!
"See you tomorrow, captain Yun," the upper-stage male youth said as he left for his room.
Picking another arrow from the stash by his left, Shung Yun pinned its bottom at the string of his bow before releasing his fingers and sending the arrow flying into the center of target.
Going at it for eight[8] more minutes, he once again placed his right hand inside the carved arrow storage by his left.
"It's finished?" he looked disappointed as he right hand came out empty after a few seconds of searching the carved arrow storage in the shooting stand.
"I guess I'm done for today," keeping the wooden bow back on the slab, Shung Yun said as he came down from the shooting stand.
"You're good with the bow. Why didn't I know that?" commander Jian asked as he walked into the illumination of the torches.
"Maybe, it's because today is the first time I'm using a bow, Sir," Shung Yun said as he saluted his Warhead Section commander.
"What wrong have you committed for Mother nature to be so hard on you?" commander Jian sighed as he looked at Shung Yun, "the military need you to communicate with your contracted beast and ask for its help to scout the Oak Forest for Quing Village soldiers."
"Ubei might not take me seriously if I relay the commander's message to him. How about the military send one of its commanders to negotiate directly with Ubei. I'm sure he will have no choice but to take the commander seriously due to their cultivation being equal," Shung Yun said to commander Jian.
Mulling over what Shung Yun said to him, commander Jian came to acknowledge it as the truth.
He said, "I'll let the other commanders know about what you said. Get ready to leave for Oak Forest tomorrow."
"Yes, Sir," Shung Yun said as he acknowledged commander Jian's order.
"Go to bed, captain Yun," commander Yun said as he began walking away from the archer's training field, "sleep helps in relieving stress."
"I can still increase my proficiency in archery without any companion's help for now, which is better than my battle-axe skills which needs the help of a companion to progress," Shung Yun thought as he headed towards the cross-legged seated gorilla, "Pride said the opportunities in the map contains risks in order to get it. That means for me to be able to derive a little piece of joy from defiling death, I need to be way stronger than I am now."
"Is my king done?" Ikunga asked as he sensed Shung Yun's presence close to him.
"Yes. Let's head back to Shung Kai's room," Shung Yun said as he stood in front of Ikunga.
"Does my king need help?" Ikunga stood up as he opened his wide palm in front of Shung Yun.
"Let's experience some fun time for the night," Shung Yun said as he turned towards the direction of the Warhead Section's living quatres, "the first to get to Shung Kai's room will have a fight with Ubei."
"Why would I bother to battle with that freak?"Mangro thought as a bored expression hung on his face.
Sensing Mangro's state of mind, Shung Yun said, "and the last to get to Shung Kai's room will also have to fight with Ubei."
"That isn't fair, my king!" Mangro cried out as he poked out his head from Shung Yun's left sleeve, "Ubei will get tired fighting two[2] opponents at once."
"That's even better. He might use his understanding of Dark Essense to end the battle faster," Shung Yun said as he dropped his left right knee and his both hands on the ground, "the signal to move will be, Go."
Unwrapping himself from Shung Yun's left wrist, Mangro scrawled down his body until he lay beside him.
"I won't go easy on you, my king," Ikunga said as he got into position.
"That would be boring, Ikunga," Shung Yun said as he strengthened the tip of his left boot.
"Can my king choose a different reward and punishment? I don't think getting thrashed by commander Ubei would really be nice," Mangro said as he coiled his body.
"I'm just doing what's fun, Mangro. I really need it," Shung Yun said as he applied pressure to the ground through his hands, "GO!"
Boom!! Whoosh!!
"Hahaha! This is amazing!" Shung Yun laughed as the wind from Ikunga's speed blasted across his face.
"I underestimated him," Ikunga grumbled with an ugly expression on his face as he looked at the tiny black colored snake a few meters from him, "I thought his venom was the only thing to take note of."
"Although I have no wish to fight against the freak that survived the void of unification, I can't let that ugly gorilla defeat me in my area of expertise," Mangro thought as he pierced through the wind in front of him, letting him go as fast as possible with no resistance from nature.
"I need to go faster! I can't lose to anyone if I want to be the greatest beast the world has ever birthed!" Ikunga's thought roared as he focused all his senses on his knuckles and his feet.
"Go faster!! Go f*cking faster, Ikunga!!!" he roared out as he applied all his strength on his knuckles and his feet.
Boomoosh!!
"This!" Mangro stared in shock as Ikunga dashed passed him with an insane amount of speed.
"H..he..he's bre...breaking through. He's breaking through to the upper-stage realm. How's that possible!? He doesn't have enough beast Qi to break through to the upper-stage realm! He shouldn't be able to breakthrough! He's defiling nature! He's defiling the natural law!!" he hissed loudly as he Ikunga vanished from his view.
"And you're slowing down," Shung Yun said as he caught up to Mangro, "guess you'll still be battling Ubei."
