Chapter 5:
"We need a man we can blame everything on."
"What if the king finds out?"
"The king will not find out, we'll trick the man into accepting it and promise he will only be jailed for some period of time. The king will surely cut his throat before he finishes his words so we will have absolutely no problem and will absolutely not get exposed.
"Alright my Lord, we'll do exactly that. Where should we find someone who would do this. The men of Colchis won't fit for it and all the men of Maghada are confined.."
"I know exactly where to find someone.." He replied.
*Miles and miles away from the land of Maghada, The land of Chandan*
The king of Chandan used to be close with the former king of Maghada, Frederick.
Their relationship still continued after Frederick took over Colchis and killed it's king.
But the king of Chandan slowly pulled away from Frederick when he heard rumors he was planning on taking over his own kingdom too.
He knew Frederick well and what he could do, So he pulled away when he still had the chance.
Back to Chandan.
Chandan was the most populous empire in the world at that time and had the most greedy King too.
His people were no difference. They were all bunch of gamblers and thieves. People from other countries called them *The Jugars* Which meant Gamblers in Spanish.
Somewhere in the big city lived Hatshepsut, He had a family consisting two grown up males who both worked for the king in his palace and a Young lady.
Hatshepsut owned a small scale business where he sold fake jewelry and diamonds. This was normal in the city as most of the shops that sold such were selling fake ones.
He spends half of his day in his shop and the rest, In the gambling house.
He looses all the money he gains there daily and he never gets tired of it.
It was a sunny day and Hatshepsut was busy selling his jewelry as usual. He waited impatiently for the day to end and as soon as it did, he rushed to the gambling house.
Hatshepsut entered and was welcomed by one of the whores that roamed in the house. " Hatshepsut, would you like me to take care of you today?"
"get away from me whore. I tell you everytime I will only take you the day I win my first gamble here. Until then, stay away from me!" Hatshepsut cried out.
He walked to an empty table and sat his big body down. The waitress came to him. "What would like to eat today Mr Hatshepsut"
"How many time do I have to repeat this to you dimwits!. I do not want to eat anything!. I do not stammer when I say this and you still ask Everytime. I'm seeing the owner of this stupid house after today!" Hatshepsut said angrily and laid his head on the table.
The waitress quickly left.
He heard some footsteps approach his table. He thought it was the third set of people coming to fraustrate him (some dancers who entertains him anytime he visited. He was always not pleased with their dances but this always happened anyways).
Hatshepsut raised his head suddenly. "Stay away from me you...oh, gentlemen..." Some men slowly showed up and sat round the table.Three of them.
Hatshepsut mood had changed now as he was sure he had seen some bet mate for today.
Their was silence on the table for somewhile. Hatshepsut cleared his throat and adjusted himself. " We're doing this or not?"
"Yeah sure.." One of the men said and brought out a small bag supposedly filled with gold coin. The bag seemed heavy as it dropped on the table.
Hatshepsut gulped.
The two other men brought out some more money. Hatshepsut began to get sweaty now. He brought out his own money and it was not even half of one of the bags.
"I did not even bring enough money today.." He smiled awkwardly.
" it's okay, let's play".
They started gambling and for the first Time in his life, Hatshepsut won the first round. "Woow!. This is my first time winning, you guys seems like foreigners. Everyone here are already professionals and it's so hard winning against them!" Hatshepsut said and laughed.
They played the other hands of the game and Hatshepsut won Every single bag of money.
The men stood up and left Hatshepsut on the table. "I did it!. I won so much money. I'm rich!. I'm rich!" Hatshepsut cried out.
"Would you like me to take care of you now Hatshepsut?" The whore showed up from no where again.
"Get away from me Demon!" Hatshepsut said and rushed out of the gambling house with his money.
He headed home on foot.
Hatshepsut was on his way home when some men suddenly stopped him. They were the men back at the gambling house.
"You scared me there. Wait..you guys are back for your money. I knew this was too good to be true!" Hatshepsut cried out.
" We're actually here to offer you something.." One of the men said. " an offer?" Hatshepsut questioned.
"yes"..
" It's gonna be involved money?"
"Yes"..
Hatshepsut bursted into laughter. The men did nothing but watched in confusion as he laughed non stop.
"What is the reason of your laughter?" One of the men asked him. "Pardon.. pardon me..hahahaha..I don't..I don't care what the offer is. I'm taking it!" Hatshepsut said and continued laughing.
"This man is a dimwit..."
"A really big fool.." The men whispered to themselves.
" you don't want to know what the offer his?" One of the men asked him again.
" Let's go over to my place gentlemen. You'll tell me everything there" Hatshepsut said and started walking away.
The men hesitated for a moment. Hatshepsut turned back and saw they weren't moving yet.
"Common lads. It's safe" Hatshepsut said.
The men nodded at each other and started following Hatshepsut.
