Chapter 9:
Hatshepsut sons, Luca and Tefah showed up in the gamble house. They stared around for some while and walked up to the bartender.
"Do you know Hatshepsut. He was here days ago to gamble as usual but hasn't returned home. We're here to looking for any clue useful in finding him" Luca stated.
" I'm new here, it was probably a different person that was here the day he came by..." She replied.
"we need to see your manager.."
"Oh sorry, The manager is seeing some important visitors now and he'll leave with them instantly after the meeting. I'll advise you come back here tommorow.." She stated.
"we need to see him today and now. Go tell him he has visitors and add that someone's life is one the line.." The eldest son said.
The bartender paused and pondered on what to say. "I am really sorry but if I go to him, he'll fire me for sure. There's no way I'm loosing this job. I feed my son with this alone.." The bartender said.
Luca sighed.
"I think we'll have to do this ourselves brother.." Tefah suggested.
Luca nodded and they both left for upstairs. The bartender saw this and quickly signaled to some guards around that there was trouble.
The guards understood and went after the brothers. Luca paused for a moment when he noticed the men were approaching them.
His brother noticed too and stopped. He nodded at his brother. They suddenly rushed upstairs and the men chased after them.
The brothers reached the entrance and met two guards there. Luca took care of them with few punches and they both got in the meeting rooms and locked the door behind them.
The manager of the gambling house was confused beyond words when he saw two men locking their door behind them.
"who are you. How dare you come in here without my permission!" He said with a trembling voice.
"I am just gonna ask this once. What have you done to my father?" Luca asked with a serious voice.
"What..what did I do to who?" The manager asked with a trembling voice. Luca rushed to him and grabbed him by the neck. The men in the room all shivered in fear.
"Hatsheptsu. Where is he?" Luca asked again.
"I do not know who he his or anything about his whereabouts!"
Luca drew his sword. The manager gulped as the pointy end of the sword was right next to his throat.
"I am going to ask one last time.... Where is my father?"
"I ..do.. not know.." He stammered.
Luca raised his sword to end the Manager's life. "Wait!" A lady suddenly yelled.
A lady dressed in reaveling outfit emerged. Luca lowered his sword and stared at her. "speak.."
"Th last time he showed up, He sat on the table alone until some men joined him on the table. They gambled and I overheard most of their words"
"The men said they wanted to offer him something and they were going to reward him well" The lady explained.
"Who were the men. Are they from the city?" Luca asked.
"They are not from here. Heard from someone their chariot was like the ones made in a far land named Maghada"
"The king of Maghada on our king used to practice exchange and the chariots were same with the ones they used" The lady said.
"Did you know what offer they brought to my father?" Tefah asked.
"No, they did not discuss the offer here but I think he must have probably gone with them for this offer. They seemed serious about it" The lady explained.
Luca nodded at Tefah and they both went to the window. Luca climbed down first and Tefah climbed out too. " We are sorry for the trouble we've caused you...thank you for your cooperation" He said and disappeared.
The men all sat still for some while. The manager cleared his throat and approached the door.
The window slowly opened again and the two brothers climbed in giving the men the shock of their lives. The manager in particular almost went off his feet when They suddenly emerged again.
"What..what do you want again.." He said in a trembling tone. Both brothers were panting heavily.
"Your men chased after us. We need you create a distraction and get us out of here.." Luca said.
"How..how can I do that?" The manager asked.
"Oh, I know. They can hide here and.."
The door suddenly made a loud impactive noise. "quick hide, we'll pretend everything is okay in here and the manager will ask them to leave. We can then sneak you out." The lady whispered loudly.
"If you do anything stupid... I'll kill you" Luca said to the manager. He and Tefah quickly hid themselves.
The manager gulped and quickly took his seat. He nodded at the lady and she walked to the door and unlashed it.
The men trooped in instantly. "Sir, two men broke in here and are still in the premises. They climbed up the building and disappeared!" Their leader said.
"Who dare break into my house!?" The manager asked with a trembling voice.
"The men guarding the entrance are down. Did they try to break in here too?"
"Yes but we locked the door firmly, and they left.." The manager replied.
"Oh, I see. We need to evacuate you instantly. It's not safe in the house" The leader said.
"What if they are assassins and we meet with them on my way. You go out and fish them out. We'll stay in here till you find them" The manager said.
"But we need to get you to safety first.." The man insisted. "go and fish those men out, I'll stay in here. That's an order" The manager said.
"You and you, stay here and guard the boss. The rest of you, let's go find these scumbags" The leader said. The men all marched out while two stayed back to look after the Manager.
