Chapter 33 - Summoned by the dean master.

Standing on the balcony, Kendra stared at the night sky, looking in a trance.

Kendra can't stop thinking about that person and those light brown eyes. The person who has the same face and body as Nasrin.

Lory said that she poisoned Nasrin before that weird Nasrin appeared. Perhaps, Lory poisoning Nasrin has something to do with the sudden appearance of that weird Nasrin?

Kendra sighed as her brows knitted. She doesn't know who that person is but, that person is no doubt innocent, and she almost brought harm to that naive ignorant girl.

After returning to the past, Kendra thought that heaven gave her the chance to redo things all over again. To make things right.

Kendra thought she was here for a purpose. To bring justice for her fellow omegas in this kingdom. To help her father bring the royalty family down to hell. To help the poor victims from the corrupt nobles.

Kendra thought she was chosen for a reason.

However, Kendra was proven wrong when she came to know that Lory also returns to the past with her.

Kendra realises that she is not a chosen one.

So when Lory came to Kendra, her sister persuaded her to seek vengeance on everyone that harmed them. And Kendra agreed; she thought, maybe it was the reason why she was brought back into the past with Lory. Perhaps it was for revenge.

However, Kendra was once again proven wrong. The Nasrin in this timeline isn't acting the usual Nasrin from her original timeline.

Kendra felt lost and empty after discovering this truth.

[Why am I even here? What is the reason why I'm here? Was there even a reason? Is fate just merely playing a game with me then?]

Beep, beep, beep…

The beeping sound pulled Kendra from her dark gloomy thoughts. Kendra grabbed her manaphone inside her coat's pocket, then she injected mana into it.

"Kendra, it's me Lory," the voice of her sister resounded from the manaphone.

"What's the matter?" Kendra asked, speaking near her manaphone.

"Nothing, I just wanted to check on you," Lory answered.

Kendra smiled lightly. "I'm fine, how are you?"

"Same as usual," Lory replied. "You know, assassinating here and there whenever I have the time."

"Well, are you busy?" Kendra asked.

"You know, I'm not busy when it comes to my little sister, Kendra," Lory replied softly.

"Mm," Kendra responded, then she cleared her throat and said, "Lory, can you do me a favour?"

"Anything," Lory replied, sounding enthusiastic.

"Lory, can you check something for me…?" Kendra said solemnly.

"What is it?" Lory inquired.

"Could you double check if Nasrin Urduja has a twin sister or any relatives that resembles her," Kendra said, taking a deep breath, tightening her hold on her manaphone.

"Nasrin doesn't have a twin sister or any relatives that resembles her, that I can assure you, I have been working for this household for a long time now, so I know the ins and the outs like the back of my hand, and I…hold on a second, are you asking this because you're having second thoughts on our plans to…"

"About that sister," Kendra cut Lory off as she held the manaphone tightly. "I don't think she's Nasrin, at least, she's not behaving like Nasrin, so…"

"Are you saying that we should let her off? In spite of all that she had done to you before we returned to the past?" Lory said venomously; her voice growing lower in each word.

Kendra closed her eyes and opened them again, looking resolute at nothing. "Yes, she's innocent," Kendra replied firmly.

"Huh," Lory scoffed, then clicked her tongue. "This is why I told you to let me handle these things, even after returning to the past from that life of hell…you still can't bear to kill," Lory remarked in a mocking tone. "It's the reason why we died, Kendra. That act of mercy that you always give to your enemies is what killed everyone important around you; everyone, including the two of us."

Kendra squinted her eyes. "Lory, listen to me, I know what I'm doing."

"I am listening, sister, and I heard nothing but the sound of weakness in your voice, you're weak sister, and it's the reason why you should let me handle these things, don't worry, I can protect you, and I will make sure that Nasrin would not go unpunished, so just be a good girl and I…"

"Lory," Kendra interrupted. "She's innocent, don't drag her into this," Kendra said. "I know what we have agreed on, and I only agreed to take vengeance on the people that have done us wrong, and that person…that Nasrin is innoce…"

"Your weakness will bring harm to the people around you Kendra," Lory spat as she interrupted. "Sister, you're being weak again, and I don't think you know what you're doin…"

"I know what I'm doing," Kendra interrupted as she sighed.

Kendra opened her mouth to continue to speak, but she stopped when she heard the door creak. Kendra glances at the door in the bathroom.

The door slowly opens.

"Goodbye for now, sister," Kendra said as she hurriedly retracted her mana from the manaphone. Kendra then walks inside the room, closing the door on the balcony.

"Are you talking to someone?" Faye said curiously as she closed the door on the bathroom.

"Yes, was I loud? Did you hear…anything?" Kendra asked back, staring probingly at Faye.

Faye shook her head, walking to the left side of the room. "No, not really…" Faye mumbled as she averted her gaze, concentrating on drying her long brown hair with a towel.

Kendra heaved a sigh of relief secretly as she nodded.

"Who are you talking to anyway?" Faye inquired as she tilted her head, glancing at Kendra.

Kendra smiled lightly. "My sister," she said.

"Oh, I hope to meet her someday," Faye replied, combing her hair.

Kendra doesn't want Faye to meet Lory. After all, Lory is a little possessive towards her as a sister, and introducing Faye to Lory would only bring harm to Faye's life. Kendra is fully aware of Lory's obsessive personality towards her.

So Kendra only smiled as a response and didn't promise anything.

"Anyway, how did things go with Nasrin earlier?" Faye asked curiously as she sat next to Kendra.

Kendra frowned at Faye. "Speaking of that, why did you suddenly leave me alone?"

Faye then smiled brightly. "Didn't I tell you that I forgot to do something? Also, you're not even alone. Nasrin is with you, remember?"

"But…" Kendra muttered as her perfectly shaped brows knitted together, staring suspiciously at Faye.

Faye smiled at her, raising her brow as she urged, "But…?"

Kendra feels like Faye deliberately left her alone with Nasrin, or perhaps she was just imagining it?

Kendra sighed as she shook her head. "Never mind, it's nothing," Kendra said.

Faye nodded as she smiled brightly and said, "Anyway, tell me what happened when I went away."

Kendra sighed, feeling troubled. She doesn't want to tell Faye anything, and for some reason, Kendra just wants to keep it a secret. Something that would only belong to her and to that weird Nasrin.

Yet, looking at the enthusiastic eyes on Faye made it hard for Kendra to refuse. Moreover, she couldn't say no to Faye. Kendra felt deeply indebted to the other party.

Faye saved her by sacrificing her life, and Kendra wants to return what she owed to everyone. Kendra sighed in resignation as she opened her mouth, and then she started telling Faye the events that happened with Nasrin, leaving the part where she tried to bring harm to Nasrin.

After Kendra told everything to Faye, Faye turned to her with a mischievous smile.

"So Nasrin isn't your friend, but you would bring her to your comfort place, and help her with sensing mana?" Faye said, looking inquiringly at Kendra.

Kendra knitted her brows. "Yes, is something wrong with that…?" Kendra said, confused.

Faye giggled to herself. "Kendra, my friend, tell me…" Faye said, curving her lips to a playful smile. "Do you feel an attraction towards her?"

Kendra furrowed her brows as she glanced at Faye. "So that's why you suddenly left…"

Faye giggled to herself. "Incorrect, I help you get close with Nasrin, my friend," Faye said, grinning at Kendra.

Kendra shook her head helplessly at Faye. "Well, Faye my friend, you don't need to do that anymore, I'm not attracted to her or anything of the sort. I'm merely trying to help her with sensing mana," Kendra explained defensively.

Faye giggled again as she went to her bed. "If you say so, my friend who isn't attracted to Nasrin," Faye said, smiling mischievously.

Kendra rolled her eyes as she lay down to her bed. "Whatever Faye, I'm going to sleep," Kendra said, covering herself with the blanket, finding a comfortable position to sleep.

Faye giggled as she also lay down on her bed.

Kendra frowned, pursing her lips, hearing the giggling sound from the other side of the room. Kendra turned her back to Faye, covering her ears with her blanket with an annoyed face.

[Attracted to that weird Nasrin?] Kendra asked in her mind as she imagined Nasrin.

Well, Nasrin is indeed attractive, beautiful, and charming. Especially those light brown eyes that Kendra finds truly alluring.

When Kendra realises her own thoughts, her face turns grim. Kendra can't and shouldn't have anything to do with Nasrin for many reasons. First, Nasrin is a noble and she's a commoner. Second, her father is the leader of the rebel army and Nasrin's father is a duke.

Additionally, Kendra already decided that she wouldn't bring any harm to Nasrin again. That's why Kendra wouldn't befriend or get close with Nasrin again. First, Lory would be mad, and second, she would only bring harm to Nasrin by getting close to her.

Whatever the case, she must avoid Nasrin from now on. [Avoid her at all costs.] Kendra thought in her mind resolutely.

Kendra sighed as she closed her eyes, and slowly, she fell asleep dreaming of her and Nasrin on the flower field.

***

[Weird.] Kendra thought as she walked out of the library with a book in her hand.

Days and weeks have already passed, yet Kendra never once saw the shadow of that weird Nasrin. Kendra thinks it's good that Nasrin is not looking for her, because it would only harm Nasrin anyway, but on the other hand, Kendra also felt kind of lost and perhaps a little worried.

It's because she would see Cliopatra hanging around with other students in the academy, but Kendra never once saw Nasrin around her.

[Where is she hiding this time?] Kendra wondered thoughtfully to herself as she continued to walk back to her dorm.

At first, Kendra thinks it's only normal since Nasrin and her had only become acquainted for a few days, so they are basically strangers to each other. However, Kendra thinks that Nasrin would come looking for her because of her handkerchief.

Kendra felt complicated as weeks passed without seeing that weird Nasrin. When Kendra arrived in the GOF dormitory, the green coated ladies approached her.

"Kendra, someone from the Magic and Research Department came looking for you," the green coated lady said.

"Did they mention the reason why?" Kendra inquired, knitting her brows puzzled.

The green coated lady shook her head. "No, she said that you should head to the dean's office as soon as you can. I think maybe the dean master is asking for you, so I suggest you check the matter, it's not often when the dean master calls for someone in the office."

"Alright, thank you for telling me," Kendra said then left, going towards the direction of the Department of Education.

Kendra doesn't know why the dean master is asking for her, but she's curious to discover the reason.

Back in her original timeline, Kendra never had the chance to meet the dean master, so she would like to take this opportunity to get a glimpse on the face of the dean master.

Shortly after, Kendra stops in front of a huge wooden iron door with intricate design patterns carved on them.

Knock. Knock.

No one responded to open the door, however, a ferocious aura welcomed Kendra instead. Kendra could feel the dark energies on the aura that is creeping on her whole body, checking every inch of her skin.

Kendra thinks this aura probably belongs to the dean master, so she didn't resist as she let the aura probed her body. Anyway, the aura doesn't seem harmful but it did feel kind of ferocious. It's like how a beast would smell and probe the invading party in their territory.

After a short while, the aura slowly receded back inside the closed room, and then the clicking sounds of heels resounded, then it stopped as the wooden door creaked open.

Kendra held her breath seeing the familiar face of the woman in red dress. Her heart drums loudly in her chest as the lids of her eyes slightly widened in shock.

In her original timeline, the person before her became the hero of all omegas, and the reason why this woman was killed was because of her.

The person before her is Penelope Kingsley, sister of King Graham Kingsley, and the omega woman who brought many abusive alphas to their demise.

At that time, Kendra hadn't woken up yet from the reality of life, and during that time, she was too blinded by love to see the suffering of her fellow omegas around her.

When Kendra saw this woman poisoning the king to death during her wedding, Kendra immediately told Cliopatra, and together, they ended Penelope.

Afterwards, Penelope Kingsley was sentenced to death by Cliopatra, the crowned princess, and the death of Penelope Kingsley is what started the uprising revolution of all omegas in the Maple Kingdom.

Kendra is shocked to see the woman in front of her. It never occurred to her that Penelope Kingsley is the mysterious dean master of the Mystic Academy.

However, her shock only lasted for a few seconds, and Kendra quickly pulled herself together.

Kendra doesn't know why Penelope wanted to kill King Graham at that time, since Cliopatra wouldn't tell her anything about politics. According to that scumbag princess, an omega should stay in their room and just be a good omega.

However, after experiencing many unspeakable things in her original timeline, Kendra wouldn't do the same mistake again twice. She will not help that scumbag again, nor would she bring harm to a fellow omega.

However, even if Kendra doesn't plan on helping Cliopatra again, it doesn't mean Kendra would let her guard down in front of Penelope.

Penelope is a dangerous omega, and even though she is a fellow omega, Kendra doesn't want to risk anything.

Kendra does want to help Penelope and acquaint this omega woman to her father, but first; she has to confirm something first, and that is: [Why in the world would Penelope want to kill King Graham? Isn't that her brother? Is it really because Penelope wants to help the commoners? Or perhaps there's another reason?]

Kendra has to discover the truth first before she makes a move. She can't afford to risk anything; it might bring harm to her father, who is the leader of the rebel army.

So on the surface, Kendra plastered a polite amiable smile as she straightened her posture.

Penelope narrowed her red eyes, staring up and down at Kendra dangerously. In retaliation, Kendra squinted her eyelids; her ocean blue eyes scrutinizingly stared at Penelope from head to toe.

The two stared at each other, probing and gauging each other with their eyes.

A long deafening silence surrounded the two; they both became engaged to each other entering a silent staring competition. After a while of probing and gauging, Penelope raised her red bloody lips smirking at Kendra.

Kendra remains unperturbed, keeping the amiable smile on her face. Spreading her luscious lips open, Kendra tilted her head to the side inquiringly. "Dean master?"

"Speaking," Penelope replied, then she crossed her arms in her voluptuous chest as she asked, "and you are…do we know each other?"

"Kendra Salamanca," Kendra answered.

Penelope raised her brow inquiringly at Kendra and said, "and for what do I owe this pleasure visit?"

"I was told by the green coats that you requested to see me, and now here I am," Kendra replied calmly.

"The one with the light attribute?" Penelope said enlightened.

"Speaking," Kendra replied, still with a polite amiable smile.

Penelope nodded her head as she stared scrutinizingly again at Kendra. "I see," Penelope said.

Pushing the door wide open, Penelope beckoned inside and said, "well then, Miss Salamanca, come in."

"Thank you for inviting me," Kendra replied, walking slowly inside.

"You're too polite, aren't you?" Penelope said, closing the door.

Kendra only smiled more politely and amiably.

Walking towards the single couch, Penelope then sat down. "Please have a seat, Miss Salamanca," she gestured to the sofa.

Kendra nodded and sat.

"I'll get straight to the point, Miss Salamanca, I called you here because of your light attribute," Penelope said right off the bat.

Kendra remained a polite smile on her face as she opened her lips, and said, "I see, well," she paused.

Kendra tilted her head to the side, staring inquiringly at Penelope as she continued. "Before I agree, dean master, could you tell me first, to what or where you would use it for?" Kendra uttered in a calm tone.

Penelope raised her red bloody lips, smiling back. "It's not a what or a where, Miss Salamanca, it's a who," Penelope corrected.

Kendra slightly knitted her brows in concern. "Oh, does this person need healing?" Kendra asked urgently.

"Well yes," Penelope replied.

Kendra nodded understandably. "Then I think we should hurry and go to this person."

"Before that," Penelope raised her index finger.

Kendra furrowed her brows, but she didn't interrupt; only waiting for Penelope to continue.

"You need to sign a nondisclosure agreement first," Penelope stated.

"Is it that confidential?" Kendra inquired.

Penelope nodded and muttered, "yes."

Kendra knitted her brows in contemplation.

Penelope clasped her hand together. "Miss Salamanca, the only thing that I could tell you right now is the person you're going to heal is a first year student just like you, and... this person is in dire need of your mana, well to be precise, that little liar needs a mana of a light attribute user, so…"

Penelope pursed her lips then she sighed.

Kendra didn't interrupt and waited for Penelope to continue.

"So I ask you here to inquire if you would be so kind as to assist in helping a fellow student, and Miss Salamanca, I would need you to sign a confidentiality agreement contract first before I could even bring you there," Penelope said, staring expectantly at Kendra.

Kendra didn't reply as she pondered in her mind. Agreeing to this might make Penelope think of her in good favour. This also might become her chance to get close to Penelope, and then she could also slowly investigate why Penelope killed King Graham in the original timeline.

All in all, she wouldn't lose out in this, so with a sorted mind, Kendra came to a decision.

Kendra gazes her ocean blue eyes at Penelope. "Then dean master, we need to hurry and sign the contract," said Kendra politely. "We can't make the patient wait for too long, right?"

Penelope raised her red blood lips and smiled satisfied. "Don't worry, the academy will reimburse you with compensation and reward your good deeds greatly," Penelope stated, standing up as she grabbed a pile of papers on her desk.

Afterwards, Penelope went back sitting on the couch, making Kendra sign the nondisclosure agreement contract.

Kendra read the words on the contract first before signing. The contract said that the party signing the agreement agreed that any information they may acquire will not be revealed to any others. Breaking the agreement will trigger irreparable damage to the signing party or parties.

After reading each word, Kendra signed the contract, and afterwards, Penelope stood up looking at Kendra.

"Miss Salamanca, shall we?" Penelope said.

Kendra nodded as she stood up as well. "Please lead the way," Kendra responded, smiling politely and amiable.

Together the two headed to the infirmary.
