The next day.
Basilius was grumpily woken up by a beam of light shining directly into his eyes from the window, with a intense headache, holding his head with one hand as if that was the most painful thing in the world Basilius began trotting towards his mini fridge as in there he had some tomato juice.
As Basilius was walking towards the fridge he became even more annoyed by the constant sounds of explosions in the background which he thought was because one of his neighbours had his windows open and was watching an action movie too loudly, it had happened before.
Basilius reached the fridge and took out his half a liter bottle of tomato juice and began chugging it down, too occupied to notice that the fridge was no longer working.
Boom!
Irritated at the noise Basilius turned around towards the window so he could go ahead to close it, however once he did.
Gulp
"What the, who put all that trash in front of my house?"
Basilius was staring in a daze towards what was outside his window as the previous little alleyway and opposite apartment complex he used to see were now blocked from his view by what appeared to be a bunch of rubble, allowing only a little bit of light to pass through, that just so happened to be directed towards his bed.
Basilius became a bit frustrated and a bit mad as someone had dumped a bunch of trash in front of his house , however that only worsened his headache, so he decided to just drink the tomato juice.
After the juice Basilius felt a bit better and decided to get ready to go outside and confront whoever used his street as a garbage dump, and also his inconsiderate neighbour.
However once he tried to brush his teeth he noticed that neither the light's in the bathroom worked nor was the water running, Basilius was a bit surprised, as such situations were rather uncommon now a day's, but eventually accepted the situation.
"So I pay tax's for this "huh"", Basilius said jokingly to himself as he new he didn't pay taxes, nor even had a job to in order to pay it, which soured his mood a bit as he reminded himself of his job hunt failure.
Distracting himself by focusing on his current predicament Basilius fixed his toothbrush situation by using water from a water bottle rinsing his mouth with that, he also rinsed his face with the bottle of water.
Prepared to go outside Basilius tried to open his door….. it wouldn't budge.
"Even in front of my door, those Mother Fuckers", Angry, even tough Basilius did not know who had done it, but whoever did better prepare them self.
Basilius used all his power to push against his door and little by little it opened accompanied by the constantly shifting and falling of objects in the background.
Once the door was open enough for Basilius to fit through he noticed that he was boxed in by what seemed to be mostly pieces of metal and concrete making him flabbergasted.
"Who would do this?"
Basilius looked up and could see the sky, there was just 2 meters of rubble stacked upon each other surrounding him as if he were at the bottom of a well.
Confused and begging to doubt his earlier dumping theory Basilius ascend up, using the ruble and his apartment as foothold to easily climb up, although he had to be careful of sharp pieces of metal.
Once over the 2 meter tall pile Basilius stood in a daze with his eyes wide open "What happened while I was asleep?".
Basilius could now clearly see his surroundings and saw how the apartment building in front of him had collapsed, and when looking at his building it seemed to have collapsed falling to the left, luckily Basilius's apartment was to the right otherwise…. leaving his apartment wouldn't have been this easy.
It also seemed that his block normally being 17 floors high had all caved in until the third floor, only some of the fourth floor buildings managed to withstand complete collapse.
Basilius quickly walked on all the wreckage to gain a higher vantage point, however the higher up he went the more shocked and terrified he became as it appeared the entire city had collapsed as he saw no standing buildings.
But what horrified and disturbed him was the most was the amount of limbs and dead bodies he could see along the way, mixed with the strong smell of iron the surrounding exuded.
This quickly became the most tragic scene Basilius had ever seen, causing him to vomit.
After emptying his stomach, trembling Basilius tried to calm himself down a bit as now was not a time to be acting like that, and he continued his hike trying to reach a higher spot to find out where survivors were.
While looking for life Basilius eventually saw a survivor like himself walking around in the distance, it appeared to be a man in his forties.
