Chapter 13 - Meeting the chief

AMARA

The houses amazed Amara. She wanted to know how they were made. She was still being carried by Borin they were heading to the chief's house. When walking through the dirt paths of the village Amara saw many male beasts sharing a Resemblance to Borin. They were tall and muscular with deep features and brown to black hair, however Borin had a noticeably stronger aura. They all stared at her eyes wide. Amara subconsciously stuck to Borin tighter. She only saw two females out while with Borin. They were around Amara's height and had plump bodies and cheeks. They were very cute. They both stared at Amara as well. All the residents seemed surprised at Amara. After all, she didn't look like them with her red hair, red eyes and sharp facial features. She was getting nervous about sticking out. "What if the eagles come by here, they will recognize me immediately," thought Amara. a sinking feeling filling her stomach.

"They are all staring at me," she said to Borin hoping for a comforting reason as to why. Borin looked and her worried expression and softly laughed. He quickly said to her "They are staring because you are so beautiful and unique." Seeing him laugh with his deep voice Amara blushed. She couldn't help but be comforted by Borin. They reached the chief's house. It was a substantially sized building. It looked to have wood pillars as a foundation and walls made of a mud/clay mixture. The roof was triangular with grass-like roofing. Amara loved the design. It looked impressive and homey. Borin knocked on the door of the home and loudly called

" Uncle I have someone for you to meet" Amara heard rustling in the house and quickly the door opened and revealed a tall man with two stripes on his neck. He had the same type of aura as Borin. He saw Amara and Borin, who was still carrying her. The man looked surprised but quickly regained his composure.

"Well, who is this Borin " the man asked, his voice slightly high-pitched.

Borin replied quickly to the chief.

"Uncle this is Amara I found her wounded in the forest and brought her back here." The man looked at him for a second then looked at Amara and smiled. He gently spoke to her and said.

"Hello, Amara, I am Tiwe the chief of the Bear Tribe. What tribe are you from." Amara went to reply but before she could get a word out Borin hastily answered for Her

" She can't remember many things," Said Borin seriously. Amara was staring at Borin she didn't know what to think but she was going to follow his lead. The chief looked shocked at Borin's serious tone and nodded. Amara was confused about why Borin said that but decided it was best not to confront him here.

"Why can she not Remember? asked Tiwe to Borin matching his seriousness. He then quickly looked at Amara. She could feel him looking at her wounds. With a sympathetic tone, Tiwe asked "Are you okay Amara?" Amara could only nod to him. This question hit Amara hard she wasn't okay, she didn't think she could live with this pain for another minute. However, she had no choice but to go forward.

Borin replied to Tiwe "I'm not sure, I found her wounded around the base of the mountain nearby. she was covered in blood and I cleaned her at the river and then brought her here.

"Will she be staying with you?" asked Tiwe with a thoughtful look on his face.

Amara replied before Borin could and said "Yes I will be staying with him" She felt as if she had to stay with Borin. It felt like fate meeting him, being with him felt right somehow. She thought he was a good mate candidate and decided to put her claim on him. She saw the stares of the men here as they walked around. She was desirable and she needed someone on her side. Borin made her feel safe.

"Then it's settled, " said the chief dismissing them. They excused themselves from the chief's house and headed to Borin's house.
