Chapter 18 - Change is constant

BORIN

Borin was shocked to think Amara had such a painful tragedy in her past. It didn't change anything he felt about her and he now fully understood why she was so injured when he first met her. Borin felt as her partner if the world was to blame her or even if she were to. Blame herself for what happened to her tribe, He knew he was going to be on her side. His attention was drawn back to Amara who was still sitting on his bed. She was beautiful even with her eyes red from crying. Borin hugged Amara it was awkward for a moment but she quickly melted in his arms. His heart filled with pride with making her feel safe. He gracefully pulled her into his arms and stood up.

" I will accept you no matter what Amara so let's go look at our home." Said Borin to Amara. She nodded however didn't say anything but had a happy aura about her.

Borin walked through the house they were currently in with Amara in his arms. His mother Jeba was in the living room. When she saw Amara her eyes lite up.

"You are even more beautiful awake!" Said Jeba excitedly. She ran up to Borin and Amara. Borin glanced at amara quickly to observe her reaction. She quickly made eye contact with him. Her eyes asking questions.

" Amara this is my mother Jeba, she helped take care of you while you were asleep." Explained Borin to Amara seeing her confused expression.

"It's nice to meet you thank you for taking care of me " said Amara looking somewhat frazzled but happy. Jeba grinned a mischievous smile and patted Amara's shoulder and said

"There's no way I wouldn't help another female. Especially my sons future mate"

Amara smiled in response and began to talk but Borin didn't hear a thing. He was beginning to be distracted by Amara, her dark tan skin, curvy body and red hair came together beautifully Borin almost melted from her sheer beauty. They talked for a moment then Borin decided it was time to leave. He wanted to get her to their home as fast as he could. Borin and Amara both said a quick farewell and made their way to the house. Borin was nervous about taking Amara through the village, she stood out way to much . He had to be strong to protect her .He was glad his number one talent was battling While they were walking the worn dirt paths Amara asked Borin a question.

"How long has your tribe lived here?"

"We have lived here for my whole life and the story tellers say for many generations before me ." Borin replied. This response made Amara's eyes light up , Borin instantly knew he triggered her curiosity.

" what are storytellers?" Asked Amara in a cute tone

Borin lightly chuckled at her cute act. He was happy she wanted to know about him and his tribe.

"Storytellers are elders who pass on the lives our ancestors. They teach lessons and give wisdom in times of danger."

"They sound very smart will I ever meet them?" Said Amara

Borin thought for a moment and sighed. Of course she'd meet those elders they love interesting things. However Amara might like them with her never ending curiosity Borin thought.

" I will introduce you later." Said Borin.

They were coming up to the village square where they had to walk through to get to the house. Amara said to Borin who was still carrying her and said

"Put me down my feet are healed and I'd like to walk through the village."

"It's safer if I carry you what if other males try to approach you ?" Said Borin while tensing up.

Amara seemed to think hard for a moment, then looked at Borin and said

"I can protect myself and I will be living here I will have to meet them anyway."

While Amara was saying this Borin could see a strange light in her eyes. It gave him the same goosebumps a higher ranked beastman gave him. How could this be ? Amara was a female but he didn't argue and set her down.
