Chapter 16 - Life goes on

Amara

Amara woke up feeling very groggy. Her body felt like lead and she was so weak she could barely bring herself to breathe. She looked around the room and saw Borin's wide back. A instant relief flooded over her heart when she saw him which deep down scared Amara.

She tried to speak but only mustered up a grunt. Borin swung around and quickly kneeled at Amara's side. His eyes were beaming at Amara full of affection , reminding her of her fathers gaze.

"Your Finally awake angel, I was terrified you were never going to open your eyes." Said Borin his voice trembling. Amara tried to ask how long she was asleep but her throat was so dry and she couldn't speak. Amara looked at Borin with anxious eyes and somehow he understood. Borin stood up and grabbed a wooden bowl of water and brought it to Amara. He leaned her up and fed her the water. Amara's heart raced as Borin brought her close to him. Borins large arms enveloped her, she was supposed to be wary of anyone who wasn't a phenix but Borin was different. It felt like they were meant to be together. It was fate. After giving her water Borin brought her food and made it small enough for her to swallow without chewing. After eating and drinking Amara felt better.

"How long was I asleep" asked Amara in a worried tone Borin looked at her then replied

"It was 6 days. We couldn't wake you, you wouldn't respond to anything" Amara was shocked six days? Then she remembered her father telling her that after he got the phenix magic he fell in a coma like state where he was briefly allowed to communicate with the beast god. Amara In her unending curiosity repeatedly asked her father what the beast god said but he always replied " I can't remember. I can't even remember their face but our conversation changed me." This reply always disturbed Amara but who was she to doubt the beast god? Amara thought hard but didn't remember ever meeting a beast god in her slumber. She physically felt the same however when she focused she could tell the magic and her soul have melded. It was not burning at her life force, testing her but gently warming her entire body. She had been acknowledged by the magic and was now it's genuine master. This filled her with a strange confidence. Amara pulled her self out of her thoughts and saw Borin staring at her lovingly seeming waiting for her to acknowledge him.

When she met his gaze Borin said

"My mother took care of you and I was able to finish our house." Amara was nervous at the mention of his mother. She's met her but Amaras never seen her. When would they Finally "meet"?

" You finished a house in 6 days ? Your skill is good." Said Amara smiling while being very impressed. Her reaction brought a wide smile to Borins face. He looked at her charmingly

"Will you live with me Amara?"
