"My Alpha, those scavengers are at the front of the palace," Darius, leader, and Beta of the Silver moon pack army told Alpha Gaius.
"I knew they would arrive unannounced, but I never thought it would be so soon," Alpha Gauis said looking out at the window to see thousands of vampire soldiers, scattered like sands outside the gate of his pack's kingdom,
Vampires were known as scavengers, some call them demons because of the number of packs they have eliminated and their desire to be in control over everything on Earth, which includes other mystics, like witchers and werewolves.
Vampires are different from wolves in all sequels.
Wolves works by day and sleep at night, while vampires sleep in the day and work at night, removing a wolves heart kills them while stabbing a vampire with silver can kill It, wolves can turn into humans but aren't one while vampires are humans that just don't know when to die, wolves eat things with blood but always try to keep the life cycle balanced, vampires don't care about the cycle, they just feed until it goes into extinction.
The Silver Moon Pack has long been doing the duties of protecting other wolf packs, they knew the vampires would one day come for them, so they spent their entire lifetime preparing themselves, their arrival today wasn't something to be shocked about so Alpha Gauis find it funny why Darius is being so worried all of a sudden.
"Have your blood suddenly run cold for this periods," Alpha Gauis inquired curiously, finding Darius's sudden fright worrisome too.
"My Alpha, you of all people should know that death doesn't scare me when it comes to protecting our pack," Darius defended himself, angered by the Alpha's thought of him of being weak.
"So what is making you so worrisome," Alpha Gauis inquired in a more relaxed tone to calm him down.
"The Mages are helping the vampires," Darius said, as the Alpha's eyes widen in shock,
Mages are witches and wizards that are more powerful than other of their kind, there's a belief that whatsoever they prophesied always come true, they can open portals to another realm, and also bring creatures from other realms to the earth, they are also known to possess a beauty that can trap human including mystics from other types to become their prey, but they will only help you if it favors them.
Alpha Gauis wonders what the Mages would be looking for in his pack and whatsoever is their reason for helping the vampires is because they want something from his pack.
"It's your unborn daughter," a woman's voice was heard at their back as they both turn to see who it was, Darius quickly drew out his sword from its sheath, but it disappeared out of his hand before he could use it.
"just like I thought, you are a Mage," Darius eject the last part out with a venomous tone,
"Relax, not all the Mages are in support of this, just a few of our greedy kind," she scoffed rolling her eyes,
"but why do they want my unborn daughter," Alpha Gauis asked, confused about what she said
"because she owns the mark of the goddess,"
"What is that supposed to mean, "Darius asked looking more confused than everybody,"
"she will not only be a werewolf but a vampire and a witch as well, she will also be able to control the four elements that balance the earth," she told them but it only made them more confused.
"How will my daughter do all these things when I and my wife are Wolves," Alpha Gauis asked.
"Because she is chosen by the goddess, the vampires want to eliminate her in other to stop the prophecy and still carry out their mission of being the most powerful in the world, the self-centered Mages want her in other to weaponize her,"
"Since some of the Mages are helping the vampires and Mages are known to see the future, who do you see winning this war," Darius asked her.
"your pack surely won't win this war, the only hope is getting your daughter to a safe place, my sisters and I will stop them from having access to enter the kingdom till your daughter is born and is out of here after that happens we are gone," the Mage said making Darius shocked, Alpha Gauis wasn't shocked one bit, he knew Mages don't help unless it favors them,
"why won't you Mages help us in fighting the war," Darius asked angrily.
"it's no business of ours if your pack kingdom falls to the ground, we only came here to protect the baby and that's the only thing we will do," the Mage said folding her hands.
"you Mages are all the same," Darius said, making the hatred visible in his tone.
"I never said I was different from my kind," she said feeling less remorse.
"We won't spend all our time chit-chatting with each other, Darius find a way to get all the women and children out of here without the vampires seeing them until my wife gives birth do not send our armies to the battlefield. Alpha Gauis said as one of the maids came running towards them.
"my lord, your wife is about to conceive," the maiden said.
"you know what to do," Alpha Gauis said to Darius, who nodded his head and left to do what he was told to do,
"what do you get in return for helping our baby," Alpha Gauis asked which made the Mage chuckle,
" Just keep her safe," she told the king.
"do what you know how to do," he said to the Mage, who nodded her head before going close to the window and was about to say her incantations until Alpha Gaius interrupted her,
"one more thing,"
"And what should that be, my lord," the Mage asked.
"I know mages don't help unless it favors them," Alpha Gauis told the mage who just shrug,
"I want you to help do something that will protect my people when they are away from here," Alpha Gauis asked with a pleading expression on his face,
"Okay, but you must give me your favorite horse, the one you use for everything including going to war," she said
"that can be arranged," he told the mage as she started to conjure something in her hands, and something like a prayer bead whose seeds were huge could be seen in her hands.
"just one seed of this bead can make other werewolves and vampires not to notice you, it should be renewed every hundred years by a Mage, if one of these beads is taken away from it then it will only last for months depending on far you travel, it won't affect the rest of the bead though, and thanks for the horse," the Mage said.
"I just hope that you are not going to eat it," Alpha Gauis said making the mage laugh.
"That decision is left for me to decide since it is now mine," she said breathing out after a long laugh.
"you are a good king," she told Alpha Gaius, nodding her head.
"and not all mages are good as you," Alpha Gaius told her making her laugh more.
"no wonder why your people love you so much, I will certainly miss your vibrant and jovial gesture," the mage told him
Alpha Gauis left with the maiden that came to inform him.
"Gather all the women and children, we need to out of here, as for the men if you know you aren't ready to die yet, you can join them," Darius ordered the men, as most of their wives started packing, some were already moaning over their husbands who were still breathing but about to lose their lives,
"where are we going to go Father," Darius's son, Liam asked his father.
"I don't know yet son, but what I know is that our home is no safer and is all because of those demons called vampires," Darius told him, patting his shoulder as he began to wear his armor.
"but the wolf has never accepted other wolfs even in times of danger, those that mean we will have to live like rogues," Liam asked his father with wet eyes.
"our pack is more than that Liam," Darius answered picking out the best of his silver sword.
"but we won't have an Alpha to lead us if Alpha Gauis won't come with us," Liam said as his tears came flowing down since he couldn't control them anymore.
"And that when you step up, don't forget your Beta Blood can also make you an Alpha," Darius told his son, patting him on the shoulder before resuming wearing his armor.
"I'll remember to be like you when that day comes," Liam said sobbing.
"Always remember to be yourself first when you're being like your Daddy ok," Darius told him, as he nodded his head before giving his father a big hug which lasted until the mother and sister came in,
Rebecca seeing her brother and father like that, rush to also receive a hug from her father,
"I'll miss you so much, "Darius's wife, Brenda said weeping heavily as Darius left the children to go and console her,
"It's okay, you'll make me weak if you continue to cry like this,"
"I promise to remind them of you and your bravery," Brenda told her husband placing her left hand on his face and the right on his chest.
"And I promise to cherish your face in my memories so that when I die, and the goddess blesses me with an afterlife, I'll get to be your mate again, I love you, Brenda," he said pulling her to his chest for a hug.
"Thanks for being my husband, Darius,"
"And thanks for spending part of your life with me," Darius told his wife, kissing the top of her head before pulling her back to continue their hug.
