The silver moon pack has started regaining their strength as before, although they haven't informed any pack that they're still in existence, their new Alpha, Liam didn't want anybody to know about their existence till they are stronger.
They managed to find a land that hasn't been claimed by another pack and with very few packs around it, Alpha Liam had also set a strong barrier using the beads the mage had given him.
They started building their new kingdom, going out only when they needed more items to use.
Although it was smaller compared to their previous kingdom, it could still be considered as a home, Alpha Liam also promises to expand their new land in the future when he gets to know how far the other packs are from them.
King Liam was walking down the alley when he saw Catherine standing all alone, her eyes closed, inhaling the sweet radiant atmosphere and enjoying the cool breeze that blew her hair to her back, she was smiling but she seems to be thinking about something, Liam was curious about what she might be thinking of so he decided to approach her,
"greeting Luna,"
"I'm not the Luna anymore, you don't have to call me that,"
"you're still the Luna in the eyes of many including mine,"
"Why don't you give them a new Luna," it's not as if Liam hasn't thought of it, he has just never considered it as an important decision to make at the moment, not now that he's thinking of a pack kingdom to build, finding a mate now would be a total waste of time.
"I don't think it necessary for now," Liam said shrugging his shoulders, which made her laugh at the now confused Liam,
"and who told you that, you of all people should know that as an alpha, you need to have a mate who will make you stronger and will also assist you in your daily life," she advised in a reasonable tone, hoping Liam will heed her advice.
"is not as if I don't know why a pack needs a Luna it's just that, I haven't smelt one yet,"
"Have you thought of going to other packs to check,"
"if that is the only option left, then I'll leave that idea for later," she didn't want to argue with him, so she just breathe in and out, changing the topic to a different one,
"I miss my daughter," she said looking back at the luxurious garden that was filled with flamboyant flowers of different types and also had a stunning waterfall sculpture in the middle.
"I'm sorry if you think that I'm keeping you away from your daughter but I promise to bring her back to our pack once we become stronger,"
"I hope it won't be when I'm dead," she let out, giving a faint laugh,
"it will never happen like that Luna," he declared with a very serious face, causing Catherine to laugh before telling him that it was a joke which made him chuckle.
"Thanks for looking after the pack very well, you are just like your father a brave and devoted man,"
Liam was already on the brink of tears remembering his father's good deeds to the pack, he was glad that he followed his father's footsteps.
"he was a good man, he deserves to be the father of a great one, same as the former alpha, that is why I promised to be devoted to the pack and lead the pack to its former glory," he asserted, walking away before his former luna could see cry, Catherine knew how much he misses his father, Declan, and Liam we're so close back then, who knew things would end this way, she hopes things turn out better in future.
....
"we will never forgive them for what they did to our pack, they managed to defeat us before but this will be the last defeat they will have,"
Inside the hall were Liam, Ambrose, and other male werewolves, they were discussing how they will take down the vampires,
"Alpha Liam don't you think this discussion is too early beside that the vampires are getting stronger, how are we going to breech it gate if we one day attack them," Ambrose asked disturb about the discussion but couldn't say anything so he won't look like a renegade to the alpha and his fellow pack members.
"I've been sending wolves who will be able to spy from alpha, as they can't get any closer to their gate, as the vampire might perceive them," Alpha Liam explained.
The former luna had heard their discussion behind the door as she stormed in, glaring at them, the guards who tried to stop her from getting in slowly bowed their heads in defeat and left the chambers, closing the door behind them.
Her palms were red from folding them too hard, they seem to have known the reason for her anger because no one dared to look her directly in the eyes,
"This discussion was not supposed to be now, you should have kept this topic for later, right now we have a kingdom to build," Catherine told them,
"neither less, we will still sit to talk about it someday, we might not attack now, but we should get ready for it," Alpha Liam said, trying to keep a rigid face.
Don't you remember how we struggled to survive, to find a home, to keep our young ones alive, don't let your desires for revenge bring us down, let's wait for the prophecy to be fulfilled.
"neither less we need to take the prophecy with our hands," Alpha Liam told Catherine, who seem not to get his point and angrily left them.
....
I'm not trying to say he shouldn't revenge for our pack, but as someone who has seen the repercussions of war, he should focus on getting more strength before starting a war, revenge is a sweet word only if you do it rightly, I want to see my daughter too," she said the last part crying heavily as the woman beside her tried to soothe her, she was part of the midwives that help Catherine give birth to her daughter before she was sent to the nightshade pack, she was also part of the people Catherine considered as a friend.
"It's okay, he loves this pack so much that's why he is doing everything to ensure we grow, I know he is still hurt because of the war, he lost his father and so many of his relatives to the war, he still feels pain that why you who have been a luna for this pack need to educate him on the importance of being an Alpha, as for your daughter am sure she is the most beautiful thing the world can ever ask for, I knew it when she came out from your womb, and just like you, she will be a survivor and learn to make the right decision putting everyone at heart,"
"Thanks Eddie, you are a friend in need," Catherine said, cleaning tears off her cheeks,
"I'll try to talk to him later, someone needs to put some sense into that boy's head, it's all filled with how to go for war," She and Eddie began to laugh until the door to the room opened traveling Liam's mother.
"am sorry for interrupting you two, Liam sent me to check on you, he said you weren't feeling okay after you overheard their conversation,"
"you knew about him wanting to attack the Vampire mystic," Catherine thought she knew something about it until she acted surprised which means that it was her first time hearing about it too.
"I didn't know till now, but don't worry about it, as his mother I'll make I have a serious talking with him," she uttered, infuriated by her son's gibberish idea.
