I looked at him with anger and hatred. He is the reason all of this is happening to me. If it wasn't for him I would have been outside by now, having an adventure of my own. His blue green eyes looked at me with confusion and surprise. It was as if he couldn't believe I was alive and there in front of him.
"Me?" He asked with confusion. "Yes you. It's your entire fault." I replied. He chuckled and said, "I believe you have the wrong man princess." "There is something about him but I can't put my paw on it." Emily said, "But he looks H.O.T" "Don't start Emily, we have a mate remember? Even though he's evil." I said. "But the guy in front of us looks so hot," whined Emily.
"Enough!" I exclaimed out loud. "I'm sorry?" He asked. "No. Not you." I sighed. "I'm sorry but I have to go." I rushed to my room. I slammed the door shut. I breathed heavily.
Just as I was about to go and take my bath, I noticed Kate was still on the floor. She was asleep just the way I had left her. "Wakpato," I said as I waved my fingers near her face. She woke up and looked at me. "ROSE?!!!!. I am going to kill you. What did you do?!"
" I am very sorry,I used you for my own selfish gain. I'm sorry." I replied.
I told her everything. From the time I left my room to when I saw the guests and then finally to the part about the prophecy. I left out the part of me meeting the guard and then having a strange feeling about him.
"Wow." She said after I had told her everything. "I always knew you were special just not this special."
"Kate. Would you excuse me, I would like to take my bath." "Sure." she said and left.
As I was taking my bath, I thought of the guard. Yes, to me, it's his fault but he didn't really do anything. "I should apologize," I thought. "You better," said Emily. I dried my hair with a towel, brushed it then decided to let it loose. I dressed simply and went out in search of him. I checked the guard's room but he wasn't there. I gave up because it's not like I'm allowed to go outside and look for him. I decided to go to the library and learn some new stuff. I went to the private section that is meant for the royal family. I approached the history section which I would be allowed to read. I heard a sound coming from the history section. I panicked. I knew that my family was eating food with the guests. What should I do?
"Sometimes I wonder whether or not you have a brain. We have powers, remember?" Emily asked. "Oh yeah, right." I replied. I prepared the spell.
The plan was to jump, freeze the intruder and tell my parents. I prepared myself to jump.
I jumped and said "Frezecdo!" the intruder stood still.
I never expected to see him here. "Not again." I said. "He still looks hot to me. Let's use this opportunity to admire him." Emily said. I looked at him. A few strands of hair were covering his forehead and his blue green eyes were looking at me in shock. He was well built and had a defined jaw. I snapped out of it. "Melferido." I said. He unfroze and almost fell down when he gained his balance. "What just happened?" He asked. "What are you doing here?" I asked as I crossed my arms.
"I got lost in the castle. It was pure happenstance that I found the library. I'm actually glad I did. This place is awesome. It's filled with amazing books and so many things to learn." He said. "Yeah," I replied looking around. I looked at him again. He was trying to distract me. "This section is meant only for the royal family. You shouldn't be here," I said.
"You shouldn't be here as well, you're not a member of the royal family." He said. "I was passing by and I heard some sounds coming from this side of the library. I came here and saw you almost fall down." I said. "Are you okay?" I asked pretending to be concerned. "Yeah I am."I remembered why I was looking for him.
"I wanted to apologize about earlier. I shouldn't have blamed you for what was not your fault." I apologized
"Its okay we can start over. My name is Mark Thomas. I am a guard for the Yellow Stone Pack." He said as he held out his hand. I was scared. "What should I do?" I asked Emily. "You obviously cant tell him who you really are. Just make something up." Emily said. "My name is Rachel Swan. I am a maid." I didn't take his hand. He looked at me and back and his held out hand. He dropped his hand to his side.
"Your dress is different from that of the other maids. Why is it so?" He asked. I lied again and said " I am the queen's personal maid." He bought the lie because he smiled.
"I love the colour of your hair. Did you dye it?" "Yes," I lied again. "I wanted to go for a unique colour and someone suggested this so I went for it." The spell that I casted was only for those in the castle to see me as a maid not outsiders. "It looks nice. I better get going," he said. Just as he was about to leave I stopped him. "Wait!" He turned. "Yes?" "You don't know the way. I can help get you to the dining hall," I offered. "Thank you," he said. "Lead the way princess." We left the library and started walking towards the dining hall.
"Why do you call me princess?" I asked. "I'm just a maid." " You are as beautiful as one." He replied. I blushed and looked away. "We're here." I exclaimed, pointing towards to the two huge doors. He walked towards the door but just as he was about to open them, he turned towards me and asked, "Won't you come in?" I paused, "No.. Um.. I have chores to do. Bye." I turned towards my room without looking back. It's a good thing I wore a simple dress today.
"See, I told you he was hot," Emily said when I sat down on my bed.
"But we have a mate." "So? We can hang around with this one before he comes." Emily said. "Wait. Aren't you supposed to be talking me out of this?" I asked. "Yes but it won't do any harm. Just don't get attached to him. Okay?"
"Okay." I replied, not sure if I would be able to keep up with the promise.
