It seemed to be a grassy meadow with a river conveniently going through it. Small flowers dotted around that seem to release a soft relaxing scent. Breathing in the relieving air, and felt his entire being calm down. Gradually his breathing slowed as he started to think about what he should do next.
After he recovered and finally figured out what he was going to do next, he drank some water out of the water pouch and cut down the grass around him to make a campground. Feeling his limbs were like lead, he decided to quickly try and skin the wolf tomorrow, as he laid himself down on the cleared patch and quickly passed out.
After Lucras's eyes closed, the flowers seemed to move and shift, and what seemed like butterflies flew out of the grass around the scene. If he was awake, he would be dazzled by the display the butterflies was giving him.
…
While Lucras rested, a slight shimmer began moving around the grassy field. It seemed to flicker slightly as more and more colorful glowing butterflies emerged out of the soft grass itself. Slowly, they fluttered upward, with their gossamer wings filling the sky as a heavy fog rolled in.
Glimmering lines of crimson, violet, gold, and sapphire seemed to light up as some of the butterflies disappeared. Then a beautiful sight came to fruition as chaotic luminous circles and strange symbols flowed in and out of the enormous mass of butterflies.
The radiant rings and orbs started to move around in what seemed like random directions before gradually coming to a stop. Swimming between these circles, incandescent butterflies floated and danced around the circles like they were playing tag with one another and using the orbs to hide.
Then the entire forest plane seemed to change as if alive, the water appeared to lift off the ground in giant droplets, and the entire river became a silver liquid light. The land seemed to rise revealing large symbols and what seemed like a geyser of energy erupted from the center of the river. This geyser directly hit the glowing circles with symbols in them and seemed to be consumed by this one.
This continued for a few moments before a figure appeared. The man had a white suit and seemed to both be there and not as if he were an optical illusion. Gradually he approached sleeping Lucras and sighed, not knowing how he could have gotten into the middle of his wonderous spell. No one should have found this field as it was the core of the magical spell he put on the forest. Thankfully the defenses kicked in and persuaded him to sleep before the night recharge cycle started.
After Lucras entered his forest, he had been watching and "persuading" some monsters to give him an adventure, but he never expected Lucras to reach this place. None of the monsters come close because they feel the large magical pulses and dangerous aura this place has. Even though he tried to conceal it from those who enter his forest, and usually succeeds in doing so, monster instincts are something else. It bypasses his concealment and alerts the monster of imminent danger as long as the danger is of an immense kind.
Sighing at Lucras's insane luck, he decided to stay and watch the show, as all the brilliant colors of the radiating butterflies and the glowing circles and the almost transparent mana geyser made it a sight that still dazzled him.
After a few hours the geyser calmed down as the moon wasn't high enough, and everything went back into hiding. Deciding that Lucras will probably stay in this area if he had the choice and might find his spell, the white-suited man lifted the sleeping Lucras and his stuff and flew into the fog.
One might say this was a bad plan since the current Lucras was super paranoid and would most likely wake up quickly, but maybe some "miracle" happened which forced Lucras to fall into a deep dream-like illusion that stopped him from waking up.
As this man flew, he tried to decide where he should put Lucras… After a few moments, he laughed lightly like he heard a joke and speed up deeper into the fog. The fog that originally confused Lucras and his directions seemed to part in front of the man and allow him to pass through quickly.
Finally reaching his destination, he placed Lucras down on the ground with his stuff. The white suit man laughed to himself before disappearing into thin air, like he was never there in the first place.
…
Wind seemingly whipping Lucras was the first thing that woke the poor man up. Not remembering being in such a windy place when he first when to sleep he decided to lift his eyelids. When he did that the scene that he saw before him shocked him.
Before him was the sky, or more accurately the horizon. For the first time in a week, he saw the horizon instead of fog. After recovering slightly he noticed something very peculiar, something that he could not explain.
He was now on top of a mountain… He didn't remember ever getting on top of a mountain, which caused him to question reality because this wasn't where he went to sleep and now he was awake.
'Did the grass field turn into this huge mountain range?' he asked in his head.
[Nope, someone moved you here… Have a nice reality]
Instead of giving the bored lady what she wanted, he looked around his new mountain and noticed a few things. Instead of the fog all around him, the fog seemed to avoid the mountain range he was on. But the fog that he could find was extremely thick, and the fog seemed to race around the perimeter of the mountain.
As he continued to search around the mountain range, he noticed that he was on the lowest mountain of a chain of twenty-nine mountains, with one of the mountains reaching the clouds. The clouds seemed to spin quickly around the mountain as if it was a cyclone.
Purple and gold lighting flashed around the eye, sometimes clashing together with each other. After watching the lightning run around the dense clouds, he noticed that 2 lightning bolds hit each other causing pure white lightning to rain down on one of the mountains.
Roars rang out throughout the mountain chain. Then what seemed to be a magnitude four earthquake shook the mountains, while nothing seemed to slide around the mountain. Curious why nothing seem to fall, Lucras decided to hit the ground to see how tough it was.
[I would recommend not doing that]
'Why? What, why should I trust you? You are trying to make me paranoid and get a reaction'
[~Suit yourself~]
Ignoring the crazy lady, he check that he had all of his stuff before preparing to hit the ground. The ground seemed soft as there was dirt. Decided hit the ground now, he put half of his strength and punched down.
Up in a mountain, a high pitch scream rang out that attracted eyes of many monsters and scared off some small prey. The pain he felt was so great, uncontrollable pain in his arm and wrist as if he had fractured his hands.
[Hey, you scared off some monsters with your distressed scream, maybe I should add that as a skill for you]
'Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa shut up, why does it hurt so much?'
[Hehehehe, well below that thin layer of dirt, there is a very strong stone that can last that lightning strike, do you think you are stronger than that lightning bolt? Also, you are much weaker as somehow this place suppresses your strength… So technically you just used most of your strength without realizing it. Enjoy your pain]
'Why didn't you tell me? Now most monsters know I am here'
[Yup, didn't I tell you not to do that, so enjoy yourself]
Annoyed with Ava again, he forced himself to not cry anymore, grabbed out some more of the health vine leaves, ate them quickly, and the pain was practically chased away. Gathering up all of his stuff, he quickly moved down the mountain, as he realized that the lightning strike had allowed him to hear where most of the monsters are, and most of them were down at the bottom. If tons of them are down there, then it should be safe.
