When River asked me to join him for an evening party he was invited to, I did not quite expect it to be a gathering of about two thousand people that I would have no business meeting otherwise.
Half of them were some sort of parliamentary committee while the other half was a bunch of rich heirs and heiresses anyone could meet at a given time.
What I didn't also know was that he was on some sort of parliamentary charm offensive and I would be left standing awkwardly on the sidelines when they started talking about the budget and constitutional amendments that were meant to be passed as soon as possible.
Not that I was complaining because watching him be serious and subtly try to deflect advances on his political capabilities or lack of, thereof, was the most entertaining thing I'd had to sit through the whole evening.
You'd think people would be less of a prude next to a soon to be king but you'd think wrong.
