"Why does it say "Eve" on the small notebook? I didn't buy you that and my name isn't even spelled like that," Eva asks as she opens the said notebook. "Did that prince of yours fuck out all your brains, darling?"
I studiously ignore her little jab after accidentally finding out I slept with River a week ago and actively avoided telling her.
"My friend in high school was named Eve," I tell her as I continue to draw a new sketch on my book. "She gifted me that."
"I have been someone else's rebound all this time?" I can't say if the horror in her tone is mockery or just her flare of the dramatics. "Tell me she is dead at least." She encourages surly.
"She moved to Sweden after graduation."
"Oh so now she's wealthy enough to just move out of the continent? Why am I only finding out about this now?"
"It never came up." I shrug and slowly trace a piece of charcoal over the edge of my drawing.
