Jevan's POV 🎊

It was almost an half past ten when I got home.

Hmm.. looks like everyone's off to bed.

As I entered through the door, Lilian came descending down the stairs in her pyjamas.

"Sorry I'm late".

"Aw no need to be sorry, baby bear",she said pouting as she approached me in attempt to take my suitcase put of my hold.

But, I stopped her from taking it and she seemed to be fine with it.

No hard feelings

"You know... I'm neither a baby nor a bear. "Will you stop calling me that ,Lil?"

"Mmhm... whatever!. "I'll always love calling you my "baby bear"  no matter what you say. " And you can't stop your adorable elder sis, can you?",she said as she

"Did you just call your self adorable?".

"Of course!." "Aren't I, mini bear?",she said making silly adorable faces.

"Ugh, whatever..", I said as I loosened up the tie around my neck.

"C'mon go take a shower,I'm gonna get your meal heated up ", she said and turned to leave but I stopped her .

"It's okay! You don't have to" . "Perhaps you look tired".  "Go to bed already, "I'll get it done all by myself", I said by holding her hands gently". "

"Why do you have to be so stubborn at times ,huh?". " Now move your butt off! And lemme get going already",she said as she tried to push me away but failed. Then I blocked her way chuckling hard  as she glared up at me.

"Move!. Like what are you made of? Concrete blocks?", she said

"Ok fine. I'm going, but breakfast's on me tomorrow".

"That's fine by me!, Perhaps, I'm on an early shift tomorrow! ", she exclaimed before entering the kitchen.

I shook my head and climbed up the stairs to my room walking past Valeria's room door.

Hm! that spoilt brat!

Is she already asleep?

I head straight to my room with out looking at her room door.

Few minutes after taking a shower and changing into my clothes,I had a call from Kevin, my PA in New Jersey.

"Yo bro, long time no see." It's good to hear from you again.", He said on the other side of the line.

" Good to hear from you man, how's my grandma?.

"Your old lady's faring well, but your friend isn't", he spoke.

"Well...what's wrong with you?

"Ahhaa.. sorry I was just kidding",he said

"Anyways, hope you've hired a new PA ?".

"Relax man, that's the reason why I called". "You know to talk about her",he continued.

"Her?!. "You hired a her again?".

"I know, I know,relax.  "This is the last time we are hiring a woman as PA". "We know the challenges we've been through already. Let's forget about the challenges, it's history now". "Right now, I think we should focus on what's at hand ,you for the company's development. So, we wouldn't lose team members.   But I can assure you,this girl is good",he said emphasizing on the word "good".

"Well, if you think your suggestion is that "good". " Then let's give it a try".

"That's my maan... I knew you'd agree to this. "You're gonna like her more than I do". "Guess what?. " Aside her good attitude towards work, she's pretty and got this thick curvy physique". "Ya know what I mean , she has the body and one look at her,man, you're gonna shit in that pants of yours . "Man, it's really difficult for me to control myself from fainting when I'm around her"." Damn she's beautiful!!", Kevin exclaimed.

"Enough!,will you?".  "I asked about you hiring a new PA and not for to you to tell me how much you lust over her".  "I know you Kevin, you never spare any "feminine in skirts". "Not even your friend's newly hired PA, silly bull", I said and sighed.

"Damn the girl is in great shape but it hurts really bad that I can't have her". "I vowed to myself that I wouldn't have her but to rather save her for the "I hate relationships guy" a.k.a my best friend,a.k.a CEO of Walter's industries limited", he rambled.

"Shut the hell up,what are you talking about?". " I hope you are not doing anything stupid?". "Cause I'm gonna slaughter you into bits if you do something...

"Chill man , it's nothing serious". "I just want my friend to be happy for once!".  "Wait ,till you see her in person. Then you're gonna think what I'm thinking right now". "Perhaps, your old lady's already taking interest in her". "She's began calling her "daughter in-law", for your information",he said and started laughing out loud at the other side of the line.

"What?!. "You're behind this, isn't it?".

"No!, I didn't play matchmaking". "I thought this is my chance of helping you since you've got zero interest in women",he said sarcastically.

"I don't need your help and I never asked for it concerning that!

"What?!. " Then what are friends for?",he said.

"Well I gotta go it's eleven pm here already".

"Oh-oh, please don't, don't cut the call on me already".  "You should expect Grandma's call by tomorrow". "Maybe she's gonna talk some sense into you",he said and cleared his throat. But, I knew he was mocking me

Oh you are so in trouble Kevin.

"Whatever!", I said and ended the call to shut him up .

I quickly headed downstairs towards the kitchen.

"Hey what took you so long?. "Your vegetable salad is ready. "Since it's late,I figured taking salad at this time is the best", Lillian said setting my meal on the counter at the center of the kitchen whereas I took my seat

"Thanks Lil",

"Anytime, now in case you want more of the olives, it's here", she said as she put a small bowl of olives by my side of the table.

"I'm off to bed mini bear ",she said and slightly ruffled my hair and left leaving me to eat .

I shook my head in disapproval.

I added a little of the olives and quickly finished eating half a portion of the salad,went to the sink ,cleaned  the plates and wipe them dry.

Then I turned off the lights in the kitchen until everywhere looked dark ,before I went to have my seat back at the counter. I picked up my laptop which I placed at the other end of the counter and started it up, checking all my emails.

I needed to complete the signing of all the numerous files and documents before forwarding them to my clients back in New Jersey. Although I'm exhausted, I had to finish this up before I go to bed.

In the middle of typing out and signing of some of the documents on my laptop ,I heard a screeching noise like that of someone  had  tripped over a chair . 

I looked up from my laptop to see a silhouette of a female.

"Ouch! Damn this fucking chair". "How dare you hurt my precious feet! Ugh!", She said and limped on her feet to open the refrigerator. 

"What are you looking for?", I asked and quickly turned on the lights to reveal her sleepy face.  She jumped out of her skin as if she had seen a ghost.

"Agh!! You scared me stupid, what's wrong with you?!",she yelled at me. She somewhat looked kinda frightened too.

"Ooh.. did I?, I said and smirked at her , stood up and walked close to where she stood.

"You did that on purpose didn't you?",she said as she closed the fridge and pointed an accusing finger at me.

"Oh c'mon Apple,you decided to walk in darkness and unfortunately tripped over a chair , fell and that was my fault?".

"I didn't trip and fall stupid!",she exclaimed annoyed.

"Well..well someone here doesn't want to admit she fell but I saw her fall very clearly". "I wish I had a recorder right now", I said and chuckled.

"That means you planned this and I swear  you'd regret this later!", She yelled .

"Is that how you try to threatened someone?. " Oh god, I'm so scared". "This is lame, guess you have to try harder".

"Wait till you see what I can do!",she said in anger and turned to open the fridge again then took a bottle of water then took few gulps in an unladylike way.

"Apple, why are you yelling?. "Are you planning on waking up the whole neighborhood?", I said as I got more closer to her.

"Mtchew! Like I care", she said and rolled her eyes then drank water from the bottle.

"All I'm saying is that, next time when coming to the kitchen and you see darkness, turn on the light for proper vision".  "At least that's what pretty brains do to prevent falling over", I whispered to her as I placed my hands on the fridge behind her,caging her in between the fridge and myself.

"This is nonsense". Let me tell you,you talk rubbish. " Get out of my way and lemme go catch my pretty sleep", she said about to move away from her spot but I blocked her path and grab her hand which she whisked  away.

"Not so fast Apple".

"Get your filthy hands off me!",she said removing her hands quickly out of my hold as if my touch burned her.

"Are you ok?

"Huh?! What do you mean? Do you think I'm crazy or something? Fuck you!",she whispered yelled.

"Shit! Valeria, you've got to watch your language". I said, then quickly grabbed her wrists, held it up and pinned it up on top of her head as her back hit the fridge and I towered over her, looking at her intently.

She struggled to get out of my hold but I wasn't planning to let go of her that easily. So, I tightened my hold around her wrists but not to the extent that it'll hurt her .  Maybe I've got to teach her a lesson nowadays.

"Excuse me, you aren't my dad!. And let go of me!!",she screamed.

"Hey hey you're screaming. "Everyone's asleep,why are you so loud?". I whispered to her.

"Let go of me already!. If I don't start screaming for security, how would I know if you want to do something bad to me?, Huh?!", She said as she managed to get out of my hold and pushed me back away from her with all her strength. I was startled at first but quickly recovered so she wouldn't see how affected I got.

Then we stared up at each other for a second. She returned her stare with a glare, glaring hard at me whiles my lips curved up to return her glare with a simple smirk.

We go tit for tat Apple.

She was about to walk away limping on her foot which was caused from the impact of her fall but I held her hand stopping her.

"Wait".

"Leave me alone", she said and eyed up at me, quickly pulling her hand away from mine as if my touch burned her. For some reason, I felt somewhat hurt but decided to keep my cool.

Why does she hate me so much?

"Your feet ,does it hurt?"

"What sort of question is that?. It's none of your bloody business even if it hurts like hell. It's my pain not yours. "Excuse me!",she was about to move but didn't watch her step so she hit the same chair which was still lying on the ground with the same foot .

This made her hiss loudly in pain to the extent that she was about to fall flat on her back. But I was so fast to catch her on time and carried her bridal style.

"What are you doing?. "Put me down you idiot!",she said struggling in my arms.

"Quiet, you are in my arms now". I said smiling to myself.

But, I had to admit that she kinda felt so good in my arms, like she already belonged there.

I was surprised about, about how fragile she was, like she weighed nothing. Yet, her pride is another issue on its own, as if fire had been ignited down her throat.

"Ow ow..ow..my feet hurts like hell shit!. "Damn that chair", she cries and curses out .

I took her to the living room and set her on the couch ,then bent down to check on her feet.

"Don't touch me",she said as I tried to touch her foot to inspect for any cut somewhere. But, it turns out that there was none. It really looked like  she got her ankle  sprained. I looked up at her to see her scrunching up her face in pain.

"Wait here, I'm going for the first aid kit".

"Don't tell me to wait". "You should hurry though". "I'm sparing you half a second to return". "When time is due, I'm leaving", she said , frowning, holding her knee and inspecting her feet.

I stood up from my bending position and walked towards the kitchen to take the first aid box from on of the cabinets and quickly came to attend to her.

I saw her in a standing position when I got back.

This girl must be crazy.

"Thought I told you to sit and wait".

She looked back at me and folded her arms to her chest.

"Thought I told you to hurry or I'll leave",she said back.

I pinched the bridge of my nose in irritation.

This girl is testing my patience.

"Please sit so I can get this done with".  And that seemed to do the trick because the next thing I saw was she sat back down still frowning with her arms still folded up to her chest looking elsewhere.

Ha! childish.

I came closer to her and knelt down with one knee on the ground and took her foot gently placing it on my lap. She tried to remove her foot from my lap but I held it back on my lap firmly. Then I looked up at her to see her glaring hard at me.

"Allow me ,Apple", I said to her calmly. I took the ointment from the first aid box, uncovered it and started to apply it gently but she pulled off again, then she tensed. I looked into her eyes again as she looked into mine but she immediately broke of the stare and looked elsewhere. I held her foot putting it back firmly on my lap again.

"Don't tou-...",she began to say but I caught her off immediately.

"Please allow me,I beg you". She was hesitant at first but then she relaxed as I continued to apply the ointment gently with little friction on both feet. She suddenly held my shoulder as she yelped and grunted in pain.

"Ahh-ah!!, it hurts! "She yelped again. I looked up at her to see her with her eyes closed and scrunching up her face.

"Sorry.. shhh..the pain is gonna subside soon", I cooed as I continued to apply a little friction on her feet. I knew the  ointment was a little hot so I didn't apply much on her feet.

"See? It's all done", I said as I put her foot back down gently and stood up from my squating position.

"Hold on . "I'm gonna put those stuff back down", I said referring to the first aid kit as I scurried off to the kitchen putting the kit at where it belonged then came back to the living room to find her back up on her feet.

She began to move but yelped bending over to hold her feet.

"Ow,ow,why does this hurt so much", I heard hear saying to herself.

"Let me carry you, please". I said coming closer to her but she stood up from her position and pushed me back on the chest but I held her hand firmly placing it on my chest.

"Let, go off me you idiot, and no thank you I can manage",she said arrogantly.

"Well if you say so then ....", I said shrugging.

She rolled her eyes and proceeded to walk but was about to fall when I held her from behind and swiftly scooped her up in my arms walking towards her room upstairs.

"What are you doing?! Put me down will you?",she said struggling in my arms.

"I'm not.  "Now stop struggling or else I'm gonna drop you down flat!".

"I dare you to",she said as she looked up at me in challenge.

I bit on my lips in irritation.

"You are up for a challenge huh? Let's see what I can do."

I began to  climb  up the stairs with her small frame in my arms as she continued struggling and raining insults on me.

"Will you shut up".

"Don't. shut. me up you fool,put me down or I'll smash that head of yours and feed it to the dogs outside"!,she ranted on.

I stopped walking and intentionally pretended to drop her  on the floor.

"Ahhhhhh..!",she screamed terribly but I immediately caught her from falling as she immediately wrapped her hand around my neck , clenching the collar of my shirt tightly

"What was that for ?!, Are you planning to drop me!, She said terribly.

"But I warned you".

"You stupid man!",she said but I ignored her knowing very well that what I just did had shakened her up.

I opened the door to her room as soon as we reached there and placed her on the bed in a sitting position.

"You should be careful about walking on those feet".  "It isn't strong enough to be given much pressure. "I suggest you lie down or sit in a couple of days to recover from the sprain".

"No I won't, I have work to go tomorrow, a company to run to be precised".  "Now leave here and lemme catch some sleep",she said as she lied down on the bed putting her head on her pillow using the duvet to cover herself and turned to the opposite direction.

"Fine, but I insist that  you take a break from work tomorrow, otherwise your feet isn't going to heal faster". I said and turned on my back to leave her room back to mine.

But before I could leave ,I heard a faint "Thank you and Good night" from well ... I don't know

Maybe from her? Or my ears were playing tricks on me. I turned back to look at her ,shook my head and left  before saying a "good night to you too Apple" to her and shut the door behind me , scurrying off to my room.

My mind was still pretty occupied with the thoughts of Valeria.

Then I began to wonder why she hates me so much.

Does she have any idea of my deal with her parents or about their bankruptcy?

But why did I feel some electric sparks running through my veins when she touched me?

I have to say my heart and pulse raced whenever I see her or I'm close to her.

Does she feel the connection too?

Or is it that I'm beginning to get attracted to her ?

Maybe I'm beginning to hallucinate .

Maybe it's just a normal feeling and not attraction after all.

I drifted off to sleep with her still on my mind.
