Natasha couldn't shake off the feeling of dread that had been lingering in her mind ever since she woke up from her nightmare. She had dreamt of a dark figure standing outside her bedroom door, slowly pushing it open as she lay frozen in fear, unable to move or scream for help. She had woken up to find her door wide open but assumed it was either her mother or her brother who had opened it. But after checking their rooms, she found both of them fast asleep.
Natasha had tried to brush off the dream as just that, a dream. But as she lay in bed, she couldn't shake off the feeling that something was watching her. She had gone to the bathroom and made sure to lock her door behind her, but as she lay in bed, she heard a creaking sound coming from the door. She sat up, her heart pounding in her chest, and watched as the door slowly began to open.
"Mom? Jude?" she called out, her voice trembling. But there was no answer. The door continued to open, revealing a dark figure standing in the doorway. Natasha let out a blood-curdling scream as she saw the figure step into her room, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly light.
She scrambled out of bed and ran to her mother's room, but when she tried to open the door, it wouldn't budge. She could hear her mother and brother's screams coming from the other side, but the door wouldn't open. Natasha was trapped, with the dark figure slowly approaching her.
She tried to run, but her legs felt like lead and she couldn't move. The figure was getting closer and closer, its eyes never leaving hers. Natasha could feel its cold breath on her face as it reached out to grab her. She closed her eyes, expecting the worst, but nothing happened.
When she opened her eyes, the figure was gone. Her mother and brother were standing in the doorway, looking at her with concern. Natasha was shaking and couldn't stop crying. Her mother tried to comfort her, telling her that it was just a nightmare and nothing would happen to her. But Natasha knew that what she had seen was real.
The next day, Natasha couldn't shake off the feeling of fear that had taken hold of her. Every time she heard a creaking sound, she would jump in fear. Her mother tried to reassure her that there was nothing in the house that could harm her, but Natasha knew better. She knew that the dark figure from her nightmare was real, and it was still in the house.
As the day went on, Natasha couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched. Every time she turned around, she felt like someone was there, just out of sight. She didn't want to be alone and stayed close to her mother and brother, but even with them, she couldn't shake off the feeling of dread.
That night, Natasha couldn't bring herself to go back to her room. She stayed in the living room with her mother and brother, but even with them there, she felt like the dark figure was still watching her. She couldn't sleep, and every time she closed her eyes, she saw the figure standing in her doorway.
As the night wore on, Natasha heard a sound coming from her room. It was the sound of her door creaking open. She knew that the figure was back, and this time, it wasn't going to let her go. She tried to run, but her legs wouldn't move. She was trapped, and the figure was getting closer and closer.
The following day she tells her mom about the dream and asks what it could mean but Amanda tells her not to border about it and that it was just a dream.
Amanda cuts in and says; "Natasha, it's okay. It was just a dream; there is nothing in the house."
Natasha objects; "No mom, it was not a dream. My eyes were wide open, I saw the door open after I had locked it, and it was scary. Something must be in this house to have caused such a terrifying..."
Amanda covers Natasha's mouth with her hand and tells her not to worry. In her words; "Don't worry, it was a nightmare, nothing will happen to you I promise. It's just a dream."
Amanda then tries to calm her down and clear the fear off her mind by telling her a nightmare she also had when she was her age, of a black shadow and a tree that was chasing her but when she woke up, they were all gone.
Amanda adds, "I was scared as well but when I told my mom, your granny-bears you fondly call her..."Both of them look at each other's faces and smile; "...she told me to close my eyes and asked if I saw them again which I answered no, I didn't. She took me by my hand and danced around the house singing 'they are gone, they are gone, they are gone, they are gone'; the same way I just did for you now my baby, Natasha. Don't be scared, it was just a dream!"
Both of them hug each other and see Jude being attracted by the song, standing door wondering what was gone. "What is happening and what's gone?" He asks
Amanda just spreads her hand to receive him as well and asks them both; "You both know that we all have each other, right?"They nod in agreement but Jude remains confused about the whole thing and just shaves it off his mind. They dispatch to do the day's chores.
