'Don't cry Genesis. It dosen't help. I refuse to be that weak girl I once was.' I said to myself trying to pull myself together so as to not ruin my make up, if it hasn't ruin already.
I joined the reception. Stepping in I saw my father walk pass my mom, even when she made an effort to talk to him. She turned and sighted me, immediately she started walking towards me.
"Your father seem upset. Did you say anything to him?" she whispered for only me to hear as we stood watching the crowd and acting like nothing was wrong.
"We had a father and daughter talk."
"Genesis..."I had to cut in
"Don't worry mom, I didn't say anything he didn't already know. And by the way, if I don't stand up to him, who will?" I heard my mom sigh but I didn't look as my focus was on the people who came to attend this blasphemy...They were few, and weren't people I didn't know. Which gets me curious on why his family didn't attend his wedding.
"You know I don't like it when you two fight."She said sounding so worried. It's not like we fight often, she is exaggerating things now. I turned to her, placing my hand on her back,
"Stop thinking too much, Mom. He will come along sooner or later, just like I have."I flashed my purest smile at her before I turned, and there she is
"Oh look, Helena is waiting for me. I hope to see you at least for the last time before I leave. Please don't go without saying goodbye" I pleaded. She placed her warm palm on my cheek with a wary smile
"Of course not baby. I will be here until you depart." I smiled back as she said convincingly.
"See you around then." I said before I walked away.
"Congratulations"A woman said
"Thank you"I responded as she walked pass me. I can remember her vividly as she was the woman that took care of me when I was little, Mrs Tori.
"Hey..." I said on reaching where Helena stood.
"Hey." She replied as her gaze fell back to where it was before I stood beside her, and I traced her gaze to...
"Look at him...sitting there looking innocent" I said waving a strand of my hair behind my ear.
"I could swear on my life that his innocent."
"And you did be rottening in your grave before you find out how cunny and ruthless he is."I said with all bitterness causing her to sigh
"He also looks familiar, I think I have seen him somewhere..." Familiar? Come to think of it he is indeed familiar but I can't put in place where I have seen him either
"But that's not important, you are. You can do this Geny...your the bravest girl I have ever met. No matter what, all you have to do is to beat him at his own game." She said trying to boost my courage and it is totally working. I took a deep breath
"Yes, that's exactly what I will do. Beat him at his own game."
"Go girl."She hailed me
"I love you"I said as I started taking steps towards him
"I love you more..." she replied before I could go far.
I walked up to the royal like seat reserved for us as the coup...gosh I can't believe we are atually a couple. Well I sat on mine,
"What took you so long? Your people were beginning to give me the chessy stare."He said not bothering to look at me.
"Ahhh, how about 'Wow you look beautiful' and am likely to say...'Mm you don't look bad yourself'."I said and he turned looking at me disguistingly
"That's even more chessy"he said and looked away
"Which got me wondering, why isn't your family members at your wedding party? Or have you chase them away with your bad behaviour..." He looked at me giving me that same dead pool look and I fell silent.
"That's none of your business"He finally said after a minute of silence.
"Oh, am sorry for inquiring about my in-laws."I said sarcastially
"It shouldn't get into your head." He said and I chuckled. Are you kidding me, who does he even think he is?
"Are you kidding? It's a nightmare."
"Good. I love being feared."
"Oh com'on handsome...Don't be pretentious. I don't fear you and I don't see myself fearing you"
"Mm"He murmured.
Just then, one of his bouner walked upto him and whispered in his ear and Zachary just nod his head before the man walked away.
"What was that? Is it time for you to run away?"I asked
"From what?"He asked raising his right brow
"All this chessyness" I said and for the first time he chuckled
"Hm, not yet. I can take it for a while longer."
"Oh wow, good for you." I said sarcastically and immediately turned my gaze to the MC.
"A loud of applause for our new couple as they walk up to the dance floor and start the dance."The MC said, and the audience began to applaud.
We walked to the dance floor and in the middle of the big space, then the slow soft music was played. I don't want this...am not ready to dance with this guy, I don't want to.
Turning to me, he took my left hand and placed it on his shoulder, then my right hand in his. His left hand on my waist very close to my butt, bringing me closer to him. He didn't even ask, like how gentle men do. We danced for a while before others joined in.
"Are you always this possessive?"I asked shocked by his sudden moves. Damn! I should really get used to this.
"If you mean, me taking what I own. Then yes, always." This is crazy how can he even open his mouth and say that straight to my face. I have never met anyone as possessive as this guy.
"Just to be clear, you don't own me. We are married...yes. Your my husband, and I your wife. That's all to it." I said, shifting my body from his.
"Mm, sure."He replied. With his hand on my waist he pushed my body against his. I wasn't expecting that, that I unconsciously placed my head on his chest. Taking my head off immediately, I looked at him and all he had to give me was that smirk. Gosh! This is so annoyingly embarrasing.
The music finally ended. He immediately let me go and walked away towards his seat leaving me on the dance floor like nothing happened, and if anything did happen he didn't give a damn about it.
"What in the world just happened?" I whispered to myself as I turned and followed suite. I sat back on my seat quietly without saying a word to him as I was lost in my own thoughts. Firstly, he kissed me and acted like he did nothing, and now he danced with me then walked away immediately the music ended like he didn't care. I guess he really doesn't care about me, that's a good thing right? It will make it easier for me to divorce him after a month... yes it is a good thing.
"You should as well throw me away after our wedding night" I said not thinking properly about it before ultering a word, and I regretted it as the indirect meaning to what I just said came to me.
"And why will I do that?" He asked, not bothering to take even a glance at me and I actually didn't care any less
"It seems that I hold no importance to you"
"Mm, that's a good idea. But I can't..." Ingrate! He did throw a treasure like me, well... I won't take it to heart as that's how I would get my opportunity. I cut him off immediately,
"Why"
"...For reasons best known to me."He completed. Oh shit, my curiosity just raise to ninty nine percent.
"Well it's about me so I deserve to know"
"It's about you...but since I get to decide whether to tell you or not, I won't. So mind your business."
"..." What is with this arrogant man? He.. in seconds rendered me speechless and also ran down my curiousity to zero percent.
"You..." When I could finally put my words together, the MC cut me off and my attention was diverted to him,
"It's time for the couple to cut the cake." I got up and walked to the cake and he followed suite.
Standing before the three step cake, I took hold of the knife we're to cut the cake with. He suddenly stood behind me, I know that he is tall enough to stand behind me and still see everything infront of me but that doesn't mean he should. He held my hand holding the knife. At a moment I wanted to step away from him, I really dislike this body touching. But, with his hand on my waist he pinned me against him. I could feel him with my butt, gosh! I am so unconfortable.
"Stay still and smile to the camera." He whispered to my ear causing me to let out a sigh. I held his hand on my waist to take it off me, but failure to do that hits me hard as he tightened his hand on my waist, pushing my butt even more closer to him. I could swear that my brain began to draw the shape of his…
"Zachary…" I called quietly as I panicked
"Shhhh, smile." He said as the flash of cameras almost rendering me blind, adding to my problem.
Immediately they we're done taking the pictures, I broke the grip of his hand on my waist as thankfully it wasn't as tight as when he almost dig himself inside me.
"Congratulations" That's all I keep hearing. Hugs, handshakes, a tap at the back, camera lights. They we're beginning to drive me crazy. I feel suffocated, I need to leave this place before I drop to the ground. Looking around I couldn't find my so called husband.
'Moron… He left me here alone. Tch what do I even expect'
"Please excuse me" I said to whoever that cared to listen before I burst out of the reception, I would have died if I stayed another minute there.
I need air… I walked fast and majestically as I could. Just very close to the exist of the hotel, my shoulder accidentally hit a broad shoulder. It hurts… I held my shoulder but I know clearly am at fault so I didn't hesitate to apologize.
"I'm m sorry" I said, turning to him still holding my shoulder,
"Its fine. Are you okay?" He asked looking genuinely worried, how kind and gentle. His looks weren't bad either. An average height, light skinned, few beard man with a pure black pair of eyes. How lovely…
"Yeah, I am. Thank you" I responded. His gaze went down to my dress and his face brightened as a smile curved his lips. Oh my! what an amazing smile…
"If am not mistaken, you're the Bride?"
"Yes" I simply said as his question disappointedly cut me off guard
"Congratulation" Him too? What's there to congratulate?
"Thanks but no thanks." I responded and immediately the sweet smile on his face faded
"Why is that?"
"Congratulations are for couples that would eventually live happily ever after."
"Wouldn't you?" He asked
" Absolutely not. Infact I think this marriage would be the death of me." I said forcing a smile, trying not to make it sound so serious.
"Why is that?" He asked again
"Oh, am sorry am being a bit nosey. You don't have to answer that." He said.
"No it's fine. It helps sometimes when problems are shared with strangers." It's not like I will ever meet him again.
"The man I got married to, unlike you his annoying, arrogant, naive and quite possessive. Actually, I think there's something wrong with his brain. Even his family deserted him for it.
"Wow then why did you get married to him"
"I had no choice." I think I'm saying way too much to this stranger, but it helped though. I feel less heavy now.
"It was really nice speaking to you. I would go ahead now."
"Yeah sure, I wish you luck in your married life"
"Don't bother it's useless thanks anyway." I said before I turned and left the building.
Just very close to the entrance of the building I saw a bench and sat on it as I close my eyes to enjoy the fresh air and clear my head, the feeling of his…on my butt came running through my mind causing me to open my eyes
"Pervert!" I said out loud. How could he even do something like that in public, yet act like he did nothing. I shook my head trying to shake it out of my head thankfully another thought begin to run through my mind. The light skinned man with pure black eyes. I touched my shoulder that hit him,
"I forgot to ask for his name" I said to myself sadly. I finally met a gentleman but didn't remember to get his name. What a disappointment, I am.
Narrator's Pov
Ethan was going to meet Zachary but after bumping into his wife he was marveled on how outspoken she seems to be
"This is certainly not what Zachary must have expected. This would totally turn out to be a disaster as I thought." Ethan said standing at the exit door watching the innocent girl, he let out a sigh of disappointment.
"Poor girl" Her life will change completely, she has no idea what she's in for.
"Ethan" He heard his name but didn't bother to turn as he already knew who it was
"The boss is finally married" He said as Zachary stood beside him with his hands in his pocket and immediately what Ethan is looking at came to his sight.
"She doesn't seem to be the easy welded type, but she is exclusively beautiful. What do you think about her?"
"No doubt she has the looks but she isn't my kind of person, she is beneath my taste"
"No one is your kind of person, at least I haven't seen any"
"I'm yet to find one"
"You're married to her now Zachary, you can't go around seeking for another"
"I don't seek for another!! I quench my desires. Women are off my league." Zachary said with clenched teeth causing Ethan to take a deep breath
"Like I said , she doesn't seem to be easy welded type."
"As a woman, she's nothing to worry about. She would learn to follow my rules and obey like they always do"
"Of course, your Mr. Logan after all." Ethan was in no room to debate with him especially when he knows how it always end, The boss getting what he wants however way possible
"Yes… I will curve her to my liking" Zachary said with his usual smirk on his face
"So… how is things at home going" Zachary asked
"The usual, grandfather is still waiting for his lost grandson to come back." Zachary turned giving him a Dead pool look,
"It's so he says." Ethan said trying not to lose his head to his eyes
"That's never happening, and he knows it
"Grandfather always hope on the impossible."
"How disappointing"
"I… " Ethan stopped as a lady stood in front of them blocking who they were staring at
"Mr. Logan?" she called his name like she wasn't sure of it
"Don't make a fuse, just walk away" Zachary said knowing what was coming
"Oh my! It's really Mr. Logan, The president of the three developed tech company over the world. The handsome multi- Billionaire bachelor!!!" She yelled and it didn't take five seconds for people to gather with their phones taking pictures
"Wow it's really him" A woman said.
"I can't believe his right in front of me." Another said. It didn't take a while either for Zachary's bouncers to surround him and shield him form being touched by random women.
"I would meet you at your place." Ethan said and Zachary nodded his head before Ethan disengage himself from the crowd as he wasn't popular to be entangled with them.
Genesis POV
I sat on the bench causing myself on how I could be so forgetful but tried to convince myself that it is nothing to worry about. Then I heard screams from the entrance of the hotel building and turned, to see ladies gather the entrance
"I wander what happened now?" Still looking at the scene from where I sat trying to figure out what caused the chaos. I sighted him, the light skin man. I got up about to make steps to him when the crowd of ladies covered him and I couldn't see him again. But I still took steps towards the entrance on an attempt to find him when I was suddenly dragged. I turned to look at who stopped my search for the mystery man.
"What…" I tried to remove my hand from his but the bold shouldered men surrounded us, what's going on…
"Let go of me Zachary" I said but he didn't cared to listen. I finally get to understand what was going on as a lady struggled herself into the circle, trying to touch Zachary before his bouncer pushed her away as she said
"I love you Mr. Logan please marry me. I will give you the best styles in bed" She say what now? Is he famous?
"What is going on?" I said as the bouncers led us to the car. He finally told to me with a plain annoyed face. Wait a minute…now I remember where I saw him, in a magazine. He is famous, no wander that's where all the pride is coming from.
"Get in" He commanded as the bouncer opened the car door
"I can't... I can't leave without biding my Mom farewell."
"I said get in" He said as he pressed my head down and pushed me inside the car before getting in and shutting the door
"Drive" He said and immediately the chauffeur drove off.
"Why don't you ever listen? I told you I need to bid my Mom farewell." I said in anger but he didn't respond.
"Why did you even get married to me when the whole city wants to get married to you!!?"
"Be quiet" He said with his head leaning backwards and his eyes close. Why is he always nonchalant when I'm speaking to him?
"Haaash I hate this…I hate this day" I said as I relaxed back on the chair but he still didn't say anything to me. This is certainly the worst wedding I have ever attended and to couple up with that… I am the Bride.
