Saito and Ariel scanned their vials of Phoenix Tears with the Libra System Ver. Library. This evolved version of the System had transformed it into an Information System or Repository of sorts. Now the System was capable of displaying the source of a particular item as well as its effects. In battle it displayed only stats concerning an adversary that a player had previous knowledge of.
The source of the Phoenix Tears was obviously a Phoenix. The effect of the Tears was the power to heal any debuff that had been inflicted upon a player or character at least once since the game began.
"So the exception to the ability of the Phoenix Tears to heal all debuffs are debuffs that have not been inflicted upon a character before huh?" Ariel realized.
"However, the Tears grant any player who has drank it at least once, the permanent power of infinite revival or resurrection after one's HP hits zero. The Player can resume the game from the moment they were downed" the info read.
"I see. In a sense that's how immunization works" Ariel said.
"What do you mean?" Saito asked.
"To immunize a person involves giving them a weakened dose of the pathogen that inflicted the ailment as well as a formula to boost immunity. If the White Blood Cells in a person's body successfully assimilate the pathogen, they become immune to all strains of the pathogen that inflicted the disease, simply put, the person becomes immune to all similar or identical types of pathogen that inflicted the disease" Ariel explained.
"As expected of a person who inherited Granny's Blaze ability" Saito said.
"Mom's Mom could also achieve the same result via her Water Abilities you know?" Ariel said with a smirk.
"A smartass now aren't you?" Saito teased and gave her a light pat on the head.
"Anyway, for now, we should construct as many reservoirs as we can and place a drop of Phoenix Tears into each of them, then channel the water from the reservoirs into other reservoirs to create a sort of chain effect. We're going to have to create an entire Water Supply Network independent of the Venomous Supply Chain. Thank God we're Dreamweavers or we'd be limited in terms of affinity. Our elemental abilities are not the solid type" Saito said.
Ariel agreed and the two girls commenced the creation of their Water Supply Network.
"Though the Phoenix Tears possess the power of infinite replication or purification, immune to dilution, that is, the power to completely transform any solvent into Phoenix Tears, it would be advisable we do our best to ensure that our Water Supply is as clean as possible. A hybridized Water Purification Method would be the best. We should implement these three methods in the following order; filtration, sedimentation and distillation. Finally, we'll conclude with a drop of Phoenix Tears. If the Phoenix Tears can cure any debuff that has been inflicted upon a player at least once, it's best not to purposely risk getting hit by a Debilitating Stat we could avoid. Just by drinking the Water purified by Phoenix Tears once, the abilities of the Phoenix Tears should be permanently assimilated into our bodies. At the very least, we should be completely immune to fatalities caused by Basilisks from now on" Ariel reasoned just as the sun went down and the tanks were at least set up.
At the very least, the tanks for purification.
Ariel and Saito rested for a day within the Game. When they awoke, they began to implement the purification scheme. First, they created pipes linking a set of the purification tanks. Each pipe had a filter at the end where it connected to a subsequent tank. These filters were woven out of a mesh like fabric. The further down the filtration chain the tanks were, the more minute the holes in the filters leading from one tank into the other were. This setup was to rid the water flowing into the filtration tanks of solid waste. The further downstream the link of filtration tanks were, the purer the water would be thanks to the chain of filters each with more constricted filters than the last to filter out solid waste.
Once the water made it down the sequentially installed filtration tanks, the pipes split into parallel formations leading into arrays of sedimentation tanks. When each tank was full, the water was made to settle for a period of time so that the particles of dust in the water would collect at the bottom of the tank. Next, through the use of siphoning pumps, created via the Dreamweaving abilities of Saito and Ariel, the cleaner water would be pumped into arrays of distillation tanks that were heated to boiling point. This was to get rid of fluid waste. The variations in boiling temperature between the water and any material in it would cause the water to evaporate. The vapour would then be redirected into arrays of tanks for cooling where the water would condense. This process was repeated a number of times to raise the purity of the water. Finally, a drop of the Phoenix Tears was added into the final batch. Saito and Ariel ensured that the final set of tanks were never emptied completely but were always full of water and for luck, they actually dumped a drop of Phoenix Tears into the Sea.
"Here's to hoping that the entire Sea would actually be purified, then all our troubles would be solved" was the logic behind that action.
In our various continents, we all implemented similar schemes with minor variations and dumped a drop of Phoenix Tears into the Sea in hopes that the Sea would actually be purified. Finally, we created channels pumping Water from the Sea into our Water Supply starting with the Filtration System. Some of the Water was channeled into irrigation channels to sustain the production of our food supply.
"Hope we do not end up draining the Sea" Saito joked.
"If we don't want that to happen, the best thing to do is to maintain our forests. Plants are involved in the rain cycle. That's why deserts have almost no rainfall and forests have more rainfall. In a sense, plants themselves can be used to regulate rainfall but doing this foolishly can create a cataclysmic chain of events" Ariel said.
Meanwhile, I stood outside inspecting Ciella's and my Water Supply System.
"Perfect, perfect, true piracy in effect" I smirked.
"What do you mean?" Ciella asked.
"Ciella, ever heard the saying 'No true pirate is a thief'?" I asked Ciella.
"Are you sure you didn't just make that up now?" she laughed.
"Every true pirate knows that a theft comes with Divine Punishment especially if committed out of malevolence for as long as Neptune is the king of the sea. It's why all sailors pray for favourable winds and navigate via the stars. Thus true piracy begins with the actual purchase of a product. By purchasing the product 'as is', you automatically claim ownership to every integrated functionality you purchased. It is actually 'illegal' to place a restriction on a product purchased since the payment of the purchase covers all functionalities integrated into the product. Next, the product can be reverse engineered and cloned via the Mass Shadow Clone Jutsu. If cloned as is, it can bear the name of the producer. If a functionality is added or removed, it must bear a slightly different name that doesn't mar the original producer's creativity. Next, it can be made available to any customer at the price of the supplier as long as the supplier has at least one purchased version of the original. If any product is used to reverse engineer the purchased product, it must either be bought or created by the pirate. If bought, it must be bought at an explicitly stated price. Theft involves claiming ownership of another's property without their consent. If the original producer denies consent, the product must be purchased from a second party who approves consent, then the above methods can be applied hence the saying 'No true pirate is a thief!' A true pirate never breaks a law for as long as the law is actually just" I explained to Ciella.
"But doesn't the original producer run at a loss?" Ciella asked.
"Ask yourself this question Ciella. Who would buy from a third party if the original producer's product is superior in quality except for reasons of poverty? If the original producer's product runs at a loss, it is because they have low production standards. In fact, free distribution of their cloned product bearing the mark of their brand should earn them the publicity they lack in terms of revenue. Talk about free advertising via piracy. No one loses, everyone wins" I explained to Ciella.
"That is indeed just" Ciella realized.
"The most ingenious part of the whole scheme is that no one has to spend an extra penny. The producer's costs are limited to cost of production and maintenance. All advertisement costs are covered via the pirate. The pirate's costs are limited to original purchase and development of a hack. Duplication is free and most of their original production costs are covered by the original producer. The relationship between the pirate and the producer then becomes a symbiotic relationship. The Production Standards are kept high on both ends via competition to ensure that both get maximum benefits and minimum losses. At the same time, each side covers the others' costs to an extent through a symbiotic collaboration and the products produced at both ends will most likely be of high quality" I explained.
"I see, so pirates are the oil of industry huh?" Ciella realized.
"Why do you think everyone complains about piracy but no one actually tries to arrest a pirate?" I asked.
"That's obvious, it's because they control all conventional trade routes plus the hidden routes" Ciella said with a laugh.
"You finally get it" I said with a smirk. "The most important clause though is all of this must happen with 'some form of consent!' To do this without the consent of the owner is theft! Indirect consent is enough" I said.
"I see, so that's why the pirate must have at least one purchased copy of the original. That's consent right there" Ciella realized.
"Exactly!" I said. "Payment may not necessarily be in terms of finance, even data spent to acquire the product is in a sense a form of payment for as long as it is downloaded from a free site" I explained. "'Indeed, it is as thou imagineth,' as Zanfar would put it. It is finally time to implement the ultimate piracy formation. The Yggdrasil Formation Level I!" I said with a smirk.
