A soft knock in his office door and karan turned to look only to find Mishti, dressed in her yellow mustard dress that reached below her knees. A white belt in her mid waist that made her look more gorgeous.
"You called?"
Karan remembered calling Raya to ensure the preparations of organising the lunch but seeing Mishti, he frowned.
"Where's Raya?" He queried. Not that he had any problem with mishti. She was responsible -the trait he wants for all his staff . It might have been only a day but due to his experience and ability to judge the people, he was damn sure that Mishti was not the lazy one.
But right now, he wanted to ask Raya if everything is arranged or not for he did not wanted to entertain his guests for long.
"Oh. She is busy giving duties to all the staffs. By the way, when are your guests coming?"
"Get me a coffee." He ordered and turned back to his system.
Mishti gave him a tight lipped smile as he ignored her again.
Mr. Rude.
Her gaze fell upon the blue vase and she smiled with her heart. It had white flowers and Red as well.
"When i order something, i need answers, Mishti." He said in a poker voice , busy in his lenovo laptop.
"Yes, Sir." She scoffed before leaving.
____
"He really is weird, Lexi." Mishti exclaimed as a final judgement to lexi. "I mean, how can be a person amused in a second, serious in next and then blank? He needs a Psychatrist "
"I second that. I surely smell some fishy." Lexi wandered in herself. "Hey..What if his Guests are some drug dealers? Or Child trafficing?" She said with her widen eyes.
"Or may be a terrorist?" Came the shocked reply from Mishti.
"Girls, Stop Gossiping." They turned back to the sweaty Raya who sat in a bar stool. They both pitied the old lady at how she is just running her ass off the house just to ensire everything go smooth. "Back to your work."
"Raya, my baby..." Lexi cooed as she offered her a glass of water. She ran her hands in air just above Raya's head while wiping her imaginary tears. "You are so hardworking. I'll ask my boss to raise your salary. "
Raya slapped her hands as she chuckled at the young lexi.
She might look like a strict manager who won't tolerate any nonsense but Inside she was just a melted chocolate. She just knew when to be strict and and when funny. The trait that every human should possess.
"By the way, Raya, You know who's the guests? " Mishti asked but before Raya could reply, the doorbell rang making Raya stormed out after instructing Lexi to inform Karan.
Closing the gas stove, Mishti ran behind Raya and took a pause as she saw an overly dressed lady in her mid-fifties along with a man, dressed in a simple green t-shirt with blue jeans and she already hated them.
Who pairs dark green with dark blue?
And...who make their face look like a messed cake?
She was busy staring how the newly- arrived lady threw Raya a disgusting look before entering the mansion while swinging her hips and the man followed after him with a cheap smirk .
The lady sat in one of the large sofas and ordered Raya to bring her some Juice that is sugarfree. The boy sat beside her while switching on the t.v. , he laid his feet, with shoes on, in the table carelessly. They behaved as if they owned the property.
She chuckled silently as she saw Lexi showing her middle finger to them with a crazy expression while muttering some cusses.
"Keep your dirty feet out of my table." She heard the athoritative familiar voice that lacked any kind of emotion.
She turned to face Karan who was dressed in his black suit with white shirt underneath, ignoring the young man sitting straight and seeing the lady for any escape. Karan had a blank face , not letting her know if he was happy or sad seeing his guests. Or maybe annoyed? Frustrated? Irritated? Or all three of them?
"Ah.." the lady got up from seat and exclaimed as if she won a lottery. "My baby."
She ran to him to take him in a hug but Karan just took a step back and just giving a forced smile to acknowledge her presence.
Mishti's eyes widen as she realized that the lady was none other than Karan's mother and the man was his younger brother. She looked at Lexi who had similar expresdion and then at Raya, who had a worried expression while holding the tray that had the juices.
"Big brother!" The man spoke giving a nervous smile to his brother. The smirk long gone.
"Ritwik. Get out and throw your dirty shoes outside my property." He commanded to man- Ritwik.
Ritwik nodded before turning back to head out when he heard ,"and you'll clean all the mess u have created." , indicating the muddy steps in the clean floor. Rolling his eyes, Ritwik nodded and left.
"Don't be so harsh son! " His mother told , trying to be soft. "He is still a kid."
Yeah, an ungrown kid. Mishti thought.
"Mishti, where is my coffee?" Karan asked turning to Mishti who was probably confused as to who treats their family the way he treated.
"Yes, sir. A minute please." She mumbled before heading back to the kitchen. In the way, she heard him telling Raya, to not act as a servant when all his staff, are the caretakers.
A smile formed in her face as she never missed the respect that Karan always gave to the staff. He never mal-treated them like his mother did
She turned on the stove back to re-boil the coffee, she made minutes back. Not soon after, Karan walked to kitchen and sat in one of the stools where Raya earlier sat.
She wanted to ask questions but then won't it mean that she is spying over his boss' life.
I mean, who put their family labelled as guests?
Why he was being so rude to them?
But she can ask what she had got the right to, right?
"What are you doing here, Sir?" She asked. "I'm bringing your coffee, you can enjoy with your family."
"Hell enjoy with them" he whispered to himself but Mishti heard it anyway. "Just serve the dinner as soon as possible. To the guests. "
Before she could ask anything back, the loud vouce his mother for calling him appeared. He sighed before leaving.
****
"Are you two the new maid here?"The lady asked Lexi and Mishti as they served the dinner alongwith Raya, ignoring the lustful stares by Ritwik.
"Yes, ma'am" Mishti replied softly, not thinking it to be wrong.
"Don't call her 'ma'am." Karan ordered. "Call her by her name- Samantha."
"Oh, yes." The lady- Samantha , grinned. "I feel too old when you youngsters call me 'ma'am'."
"And i guess, u would also taste good, -" He raised his eyebrow to know her name but stars had something else up from him. He groaned in oain as she just stomped her heels in his bare feet.
"Ow..Mr. cheap, did it hurt?" Lexi showed the fake sympathy. " By the way , did you cleaned the mess you created?"
Now she earned both the guests' glare. Mishti looked over Karan who seemed to ignore the little fun show and was busy stirring his curry, though barely eaten something. It looked he wanted the show to continue.
Lexi, on the other side, again stomped her heels in his another feet while muttering her laugh. "Oh-oh..U know what, Mr. Cheap, i will clean your mess. Sooner or later. "
Ritwik looked ready to attack the minx but before he could, Karan ordered them to go to their rooms. Raya wanted to stay but left , anyways, after an assured nod from Karan.
Though the main hall and their rooms had pretty big distance, they could hear some screaming and the voices of breaking some furniture. But before they could go over and see the matter, Raya stopped them and asked to stay back, until morning.
