Chapter 12 - Deads.. don't have a soul!

It had been a week since karan and mishti had spent some alone time. By now, karan had grown fond of Mishti. She was the most simple girl he had ever seen. Her fierceness and innocence had marvelled upon Karan. He started looking out for the opportunities where he would get to spend some time with Mishti.

Mishti knew it. She was fully aware of the pull that Karan started developing towards her. He started sharing himself and his matters. Though it were always the childish incidents he would share but, that was starting of her plan.

Just a little time more and he would dance in her fingers. She would take all the informations from him about his business which he loves more than anything and start destructing it like slow poison kills a person. A little more everyday.

To make him under her control, she started creating their moments. It was not a difficult task since Lexi or Alina had convinced Raya that Mishti is perfect for Karan and that the couple just needs time for acknowledging their feelings. Raya was happy when she heard lexi. She liked Mishti and knew that karan too.

The way he would look at her gave it all. The way he would care for her, the way he would get all riled up by just seeing a pearl in her , showed it all. Raya started giving some quality space to the potential couple and that made it easy for Tejasswi. She continued to act fake, to act like Mishti. Unaware of the fact that heart and mind not always go parallely.

There were moments when without her planning, karan and her would get aquainted and they would not stop it. It was two days before, when

Mishti walked to the receptionist of Karan's company and told her that she was to meet Karan Kundrra. Because she had come here already, the receptionist politely greeted her and told her to take the private lift.

As mishti pulled the door to karan's office , she was welcomed with two other older men. She smiled nervously. Karan looked at her and his face beamed with happiness.

"Who's the young lady here, Karan?" The old man in cream colored tux spoke gently.

"She's Mishti." He introduced and Mishti smiled at the man." She must have come here with lunch. Come and join us Mr. Lajpat. "

"Oh come-on, boy. We don't want to be a hindrance between a loving couple." The man laughed and the other man who looked like his assistant , followed.

Karan scratched his neck while having red slightly visible tint while Mishti bit her lower lip to fight back a smile. She thanked the lord that Raya put extra efforts today to get jer ready and her original blushy cheeks can be taken as make up.

The men left the room leaving the couple alone.

"You gotta tell me this recipe." Karan moaned as he savoured the taste of Mishti's special coffee.

"Why?" Raya asked sipping her own share of coffee. They were sitting in the dining table, having their breakfast together as it was a holiday.

"I seem to be addicted with this." Karan told as if it was the most expected thing. "I'll have to prepare it myself if she leaves."

"I was planning to her permanent ticket here." Raya muttered under her breadth but it was heard by all.

"And if you don't get it, let me make it easier. Karan, she wants you and Mishti to hit together." Lexi said escatically.

Karan looked at Mishti in the anticipation of knowing her reaction and he was satisfied when he saw Mishti running inside the kitchen to keep her empty cup in the basin.

"She wants us to hit together." She heard a deep husky voice. She knew he was coming closer to her in slow pacing steps but she dared not to turn back.

She had to plan her every step before meeting him.

She felt a hot breadth in her neck and she inhaled the thick air deeply with her eyes closed. Her eyes shot open when she felt his rough lips on her bare skin of neck and hands snaking around her clothed waist. She gasped at the sensation.

"Do you want to fulfill her wish." He whispered deeply. His air fanning her skin but his lips were now in a distance of a centimetre. She liked the feeling of his lips and he was teasing her.

She wanted to reply him. A reply that would impress him but her mind seemed to be frozen. She could not gather anything to answer him back. All she knew was, Him. His proximity surely had a effect. Which was dangerous. Too dangerous.

"Karan.." she moaned when he felt him rubbing his cheeks with her.

"How much i love to see you all red." He spoke and stood straight making her feel the october breeze. It was getting cold this month and especially after his warmth getting lost, she felt more chilled.

She looked at him with an emotion he was foreign too. It was as if she was disappointed by something or she was just trying to fake her smile as the smile was clearly painful.

"Its fine, she must be just joking and there's no need to take it seriously." He reassured Mishti who turned back to continue her chore.

She was confused as to why she was feeling bad for him? Why she felt sad seeing the growing feelings for her in his eyes? Wasn't that she wanted? To have him all whipped for her?

Then why it hurts? Why?

She could have said yes to Karan and she would have all the rights on him then why, why she could not say anything? Why?

"Because you're a good soul!" Her eyes snapped open when she heard Alina. She thought she said it out loud abd started suspecting if someone else heard it too. Last time she was consious, karan was here too.

There was no one except her and alina. Karan was long gone. "No, you didn't said it loud." Alina said understanding her trauma. "But your face gives it all. I can see through your eyes, that you feel bad for faking and gaining everybody's trust here. But you are not wrong. They are wrong."

"You're a good soul!" Alina remarked again and mishti chuckled mockingly.

"You say, good soul?" Mishti started painfully. "How can i be a good soul when you can't call me by my real name here? I am living a life of dead and deads don't have the soul!"

"Who said? Souls are immortal. You are still You. What if we can't call each other by our real names? We are still what we were.  And about faking the identities? The myths and the histories are a proof that faking identities to take out somebody else's real personalities and punish them is not a crime." Alina answered Mishti.

Seeing Mishti silent and pondering over her words, Alina added, "Karan and his family has to pay what the did years ago. He has to pay it. For the sake of innocent smile of Mishti, we have to ruin him."

The mention of real Mishti always dominated her(teja) decision making. She remembered herself promising the dead Mishti to give her justice. Justice by puninshing her killers.  By punishing the Kundrras. By punishing The Karan Kundrra.

"You're right!" Mishti agreed. "I can't be selfish. Its not about me but her. Its not cheating karan but punishing him. Its not about injustice with Raya but Justice to Mishti. "

Lexi smiled and gave a short hug to Mishti.

"By the way, what happened here?" Mishti looked confused by lexi's question and the latter continued. "Karan agitatedly came outside and asked Raya to not play cupid between you both and he left to his room."

Mishti shrugged.

"Fine. But talk to him and mend your mistakes. Its high time now, you should take the access to his bedroom and office and study. " Lexi left.
