A few hours later, everything has been decided, Lloyd and Westen are to be under the care of Black Sun and follow his instructions. Destiny Moon was given to her grandmother to be groomed to be a bride until the rule of that changes. It wasn't even day before Black had both boys training and working at the young age of 4, it had only been a few minutes before both collapsed in pain and exhaustion, Black wasn't satisfied as he forced Lloyd up onto his feet, "You worthless wolf you don't get to rest until I say so do you understand! You're going to be doing double the training and work from now on for your disrespect that also means less food. You do good work, you get good food same goes for training don't even think for a second I give a damn about you, you're nothing and you'll never amount to anything in your life." Black shouted as he watched Lloyd try his best to work.
Most of Lloyd's training was material arts from Kung Fu, Tai Ki, and many others each time he failed he was beat, each time he failed he got less food. For his work he was to drag 6 metal blocks across the field, to lift 8 metal blocks over his head and to do all sorts of physical training. Westen also had to do the same thing as days turned into weeks which turned into months, at this point Westen was starting to starve as he struggled the most of the 2, however Lloyd always gave him his food to help Westen. At night was the worse for Lloyd, images flashed in his mind of different people, places and events he didn't know of, what he did remember was the pain all the pain he suffered more and more with each night felt worse than the last, add on the pain of starvation as he stomach ate at itself trying to survive Lloyd felt more pain knowing death was close but couldn't seem to die. Black worked the boys the minute the sun rose to the point it fell, but even than that didn't satisfy him as he worked them under the moonlight until they could barely stand he than cursed them out again and again leaving them in the fields night after night.
By the age of 10, Lloyd and Westen were so used to their routine that Black had turned the blocks into weights, the material arts into different fighting styles and the physical training into school work. Because of their overachievement Black's only solution is to send them to school this lead to Lloyd and Westen being excited as they'd finally get to be away from Black, that night they stood looking towards the Moon,
"You know I'm glad we've survived this long, I appreciate all those times you gave me your food Lloyd, but what are your thoughts about heading into actually society?" Westen asked as he fell back onto the grassy hill they had found and used to hangout away from Black and his toxicity towards them it took them long periods of time to get up the hill with as much training they did, overtime it became easier and easier to get up the hill and sent up their own place once Black left them. "Honestly it'll be a new experience for us, but hopefully from what we've learned it won't be that difficult I'm surprised he even is letting us go for as long as I can remember he's been pushing us further and further past our limits, I mean I'm wearing a blindfold and he still hasn't explained to me why, course uncle Walter said he's going to give me something better when I head into school." Lloyd stated as he lean against the tree that was on top of the hill, he than opened a book and began to read it for the umpteenth time, it's title was "The King of Fire Dragons." It was a story about a mythical semi human dragon by the name of Ether, Lloyd has discovered it buried on the hill years ago most of the time he read it to his younger brother after their harsh training, it lifted their spirits time and time again as Ether's story was one they consider to be a Legend hoping to meet Ether one day. As the 2 sat there watching the Moon's light shine upon them, Westen slowly fell asleep with Lloyd watching over him, to him sleep meant nothing, he didn't want to see those images which meant he didn't want to sleep, he had figured out he doesn't really need sleep. Hours past as the sun began to rise, Lloyd shook Westen waking him up as they headed down the hill, they had been doing this for years making sure Black never found out about their "hiding spot" nor the book, Lloyd had a pretty good way of hiding it as well even if he did find they hung out up there. The 2 ended up getting to their spots on the field before Black like most days this time however they knew to head to the fence of his property before he did. Lloyd was fast enough to get there with Westen hanging on minutes before Black even left his porch, as he walked up to both boys watching as Walter and Destiny arrive at the gate he opened the gate with his key to the lock,
"Get out of my field you 2 ungrateful ingrates, I'll be expecting you back here before dinner time and with homework understand?" Black firmly shouted as he looked at Lloyd and Westen walk off nodding their heads. With those words Lloyd knew the only time they'd truly escape Black's control is by standing up for themselves but Westen and Lloyd both knew it was far to early to challenge their uncle.
"Hey cheer up you 2, there's no need to worry about his control, there's a reason why he was given custody over you, he's the best of the best when it comes to training and working. I've seen it myself." Walter assured them as Lloyd scuffed as his uncle's words,
"Sure Uncle W, it's not like he's worked us to the bone for the last 6 years to the point we've almost starved, or to the point of exhaustion and lack of sleep. Not like I've been blindfolded for the past 6 years to the point I have to rely on my other senses."
"Relax brother, Uncle W probably had some good news for us which is why he's cheerful right? I mean Destiny is with him and we haven't seen her in about 4 years." Westen calmly said as he patted Destiny on the head eventually turning that into a hug.
"Westen's right Lloyd, from today forward you'll be living with your grandmother with Destiny and Black will be notified once the Alphas are summoned today due to your graduation trail today. Also I'd like to give you something Lloyd," Walter stated as he pulled out a pair of glasses, he took off Lloyd's blindfold and replace it with the glasses being able to see his siblings for the first time as well as his uncle, most of his life had been black due to his uncle's orders, "This are special Moonstone glasses they'll allow you to see with those eyes of yours remember who you are young Alti-"
"Don't call me that, I don't deserve the honor of being called the protector of our people, I can't even gain the courage to challenge my uncle and-"
"Stop it! I don't care what he thinks, Mom and Dad gave their lives to protect us, that includes you, which means you need to start believing in yourself!" Destiny shouted as all 3 looked surprised, she had never spoken like that before, due to Black's orders she was supposed to be groomed, but it looks as if their grandmother didn't really listen. Lloyd smiled as he hugged his younger sister and than pulling in his twin,
"Thanks you two, I appreciate it. Destiny for as long as I can remember you have our mother's spirit and will, Westen you have our father's spirit and courage. Question remains what exactly do I have?"
"Everything and than some." Westen claimed as he pulled out of the hug eventually heading to the doors of the school, that's when their uncle spoke up "As the soon to be Alpha you'll be heading to floor 4 and Lloyd along with you. Destiny you'll head to floor 3 where you're currently at. Lloyd as smart as you are in terms of combat this'll be a lot different so don't fall behind like you already have your uncle should've brought you here years ago but chose that school wasn't for you but knowing anything about your parents they'd want you to be here."
"Understood I'll see what transpires here for the first day, now come on West let's head on up shall we?" Lloyd stated as Westen laughed as the 2 headed up to their respective floor, course they dragged Destiny alongside them just to escort her to her class before running to theirs barely making it in time.
