Half of Morthal was gather in the Jarl's home. Laelette was now tied to a chair. Thonnir was kneeling near her. Thonnir asked, "Can you really cure her Falion?"
Falion nodded, "Yes."
Thonnir looked at Hroggar who was now freed from Alva's control. Jarl Idgrod spoke over everyone whispering. "Calm down, Everyone Calm down. We will get know where if we are all arguing."
Jarl Idgrod paused, "First Vek and Falion. I owe you a debt of gratitude. Hroggar I am glad you have came to your senses. Finally Thonnir I am happy your wife has been returned. However, there is a clear threat to Morthal. It is now clear that vampires have been kidnapping, killing, and brainwashing the residence of Morthal!"
Jarl Idgrod paused for a second. A confused look appeared on her face and then Gorm stepped in. "I will lead the effort against these vampires. Vek you have come to Morthal due to misfortune. However I hope you help us. Falion! I know we haven't treated you well. However hopefully going forward we can try to be more understanding. So I ask you, use your magics to help us. Hroggar, I am sure you want revenge! Whoever wishes to join follow along!"
Gorm began to walk out and Thonnir was about to follow when I stopped him. "You should stick with your wife. Don't want her waking up and doing something bad. After all, I can't imagine she is in her right mind."
Thonnir nodded. Truth be told I wanted him to stay in case she needed to be killed or something. I doubt he would be able to do it. However I am sure he could hold her down. I followed Gorm out of the Jarl's house. 9 people lined up ready to go hunt down some vampires. Falion shook his head and looked at me. "What is your goal here?"
As we marched to Morvath's lair I shrugged, "I honestly would've just stayed at the Inn and left Morthal if I didn't have to get some kind of clothes. However I now have come up with a better plan for Morthal. Not to mention I got some useful tools around here."
Jorgen stopped the two of us. "If we may speak alone?"
Falion nodded and began to catch up with the angry mob. Which left me and Jorgen. "I assume you are leaving once this is over." I nodded and he continued, "If you are willing to accept this for payment. I would like to buy full rights to the omnidirectional wheels."
He held out the Razor's hilt. "This is a piece of a shattered daedric artifact. I protected as per my ancestors wishes. However I don' want to hold on to it any longer. Nor do I want to pass this burden onto any child. Are you willing to take this as payment?"
I nodded, "Sure. I'd be happy to take it. With it only being a piece I am sure it will still lure in some bigger profits."
Jorgen nodded, "Now, let's go kill some vampires."
It wasn't long before we reached Morvath's lair. I stepped up into the front. "I will sneak in first." I took out a bundle of arrows. "I will leave an arrow into he ground depending on the number of enemies up ahead. I will find the master vampire myself. Once he is found I will create a distraction. That is when everyone enters he battle and we put an end to these monsters."
Gorm grabbed my shoulder, "Good luck."
I nodded and slipped into the cave. I saw two frost bite spiders at the entrance. They were some big spiders. I struck two arrows into the ground. They would see the spiders anyway. However I liked to be consistent. I jumped the ledge and landed behind the spiders. one of them got up, however I sneaked into the next area. A vampire thrall, they had their eyes on the entrance. I'll have to kill them.
I slid my dagger into their throat and left an arrow in the wall. As another thrall was looting corpses in a hole up ahead. With them looking down I snuck past them. I entered the main area and found three vampires at a large banquet table.
One of them sat on a throne. I suspect that one is Movarth. He spoke, "Alva is running late. Where is she?"
So they didn't know she was dead. I snuck along the outer wall of the cave listening to them. One of the no name vampire's responded. "I'm sure she is just stuck dealing with her cover identity. That Hroggar needs constant attention basically."
Movarth scoffed, "I wished she didn't try to seduce every living thing."
I paused at that, I mean she tried to seduce me too. Eventually I made it past them. There was one thing I wanted grab from here before anything happens. Right by a bed was a pair of boots. I stepped closer to the bed and a the sound of a siren began playing. I instantly realized it was the alert spell.
An alert spell was set up around a shelf with a bunch of boots on it. I grabbed the special hide boots named Morvath's boots. They gave me 35% sneaking effectiveness. I kicked of my own shoes and put on these. Once I was in the dark I heard Morvarth.
He ran to his shoe collection. "Come out you rat! I know you stole my favorite pair of shoes!"
I heard the other vampires call out. "Master! Help!"
Movarth turned around, "What? How did th-"
I shot an arrow into his neck. "Argh!" He pulled it out, "So you are the thief! Did you lure Morthal here! I'll kill you and es-"
I shot another arrow into his neck. At point blank range like this I could hardly miss. He stumbled and I hit him with my bow. He fell back and I pulled out my knife and started stabbing him in the neck.
He pushed me off him, a little blood got caught in his throat as he spoke. "Whaght is wrong with you!"
Blood was slowly trickling out of his throat. I sighed, no wonder it took so much to kill Alva. They had no blood flow. I might as well test this. My hands started glowing and I realized the weakness of Libra. So I grabbed Movarth and I felt my mana begin to drain and restore at the same time. Movarth's eyes widened as he struggled against me.
I got the sense he couldn't push me away because of his draining stamina and health points. No critical hits needed for Libra. The color drained from Movarth's already pale face. Until he stopped moving entirely.
Just in time too! I sighed, I just ran out of mana. I now understood Libra exactly. Against weak enemies it couldn't do much. If used on a stronger opponent it was amazing. The catch was you needed to be strong enough to sustain the spell.
"There is a path over here!" I heard Gorm speaking, "Vek is that you?"
I waved, "Yeah! I managed to lure the boss over here and kill him with magic. Though i am out of mana."
Falion looked at Movarth, "Interesting spell. I thought you were of the alteration school."
I gave a shrug, "I don't know about you guys, but I am gonna start looting. I suggest you collect the corpses of their victims so a funeral can be held for them."
Gorm laughed, "That is a good idea." He paused and held oyu a hand to Falion. "Could you hold the rites?"
Falion looked shocked and confused until he nodded, "I wouldn't mind."
As they were talking I was searching Movarth. I held up a ring he had on. A silver-black ring with one red gem. It was labeled the vampiric ring. Reading its enchantment I realized what it was. I slipped the ring on and sure enough a spell was added to my magic. It gave the vampiric drain if you were human and gave magic, health and stamina regen if you were a vampire.
I also stripped Movarth, I stopped though when Gorm looked at me. "What are you doing?"
I gave a light shrug, "Taking his armor. It is better than leather and I don't have armor. it even has a hood, I wish it had a mask though. However I can get one of those custom made in Solitude. I think I'll bleach it though. I don't want to be mistaken as a vampire."
That sounds like alteration. I wonder if there is a spell for that. As we left the cave Gorm stopped me. "Let them leave, I have something to ask you."
So I stayed back, "this is about Jarl Idgrod and her dementia right?"
He blinked in confusion, "Dementia?"
So I explained, "It is a symptom of age or illness. it is basically forgetfulness or slowing of thoughts. I think if Jarl Idgrod has future sight as she says it could cause dementia."
Gorm sighed, "Yup, that is about right then. I had talked to Captain Aldis in Solitude about this before. If you are going there, can you deliver a letter?"
I nodded, "Sure, with the war it would be best she steps down as Jarl. Not like she can't still give advice to the new Jarl."
Gorm smiled, "I will give you the letter before you leave then."
I stopped, "I've paid for everything at this point right? Good on the favors?"
Gorm nodded, "Great, can you also provide me a journal to write things in as well?" I paused and made something up. "I lost my previous journal in my carriage."
Gorm laughed, "Of course! That is easy to provide."
