So how would I convince Viree that the contract was real. I got up, "Give me a second. I have a method for us to establish a contract of sorts."
She kept her eyes on me as I walked back towards the passage way. Taking out a piece of paper I tested casting varying spells on it. Eventually the spell Lock worked. The paper glowed with a lime colored light. Nodding I took out my pen to write on it. However the ink failed and I blinked.
Well isn't that interesting. Lock had more than just one use. It could also lock something into a certain state. It wouldn't be so op as to preserve food. However it would be effective for my current need.
I took out another paper, writing up a contract was the hard part. It had to be believable. Within reason and finally it had to be simple. I started with clarifying the two parties. Party A would be me, Party B would be her.
She would serve as my... I thought for a second and decided to keep to the games standards. She would be my follower. Her time as my follower will last until I find a cure for her lycanthropy, but I didn't have to go out of my way to cure her.
Next I added a part about if a cure is found and she is willing to stay my follower she may. However at that time a new contract can be made. This was so once I had the real Contract perk point I could make a proper contract.
I debated about the next part. I could write if she hurts me something will happen however... She could just hurt me and find out the contract is fake. So i got a little creative. I started with something simple, if Party A dies. Party B will share the same fate. I was vague with my words so I could add this next part. If Party B causes harm to Party A an accumulative magic will occur. This magic is only activated upon Party A's death. Said magic will cause Party B to experience all the same pain and trauma Party A received from Party B.
Hopefully this would remove any stray ideas about hurting me from her head. I didn't need any stray thoughts about her attacking me in my sleep only to tie me up and leave me somewhere. I thought about any other conditions.
How could I command her to do something specifically. That was what I wanted to add. As if a lightbulb appeared above my head I began. Party B will do as commanded by Party A if Party A requires Party B to do something specific. Party B may refuse however this extends the overall contracts time limit. So even if Party B's lycanthropy is cured. They must still work under Party A as a follower. Each refusal adds a single day to the contract.
I smirked and added my signature. I walked back over to Viree. "I've written up a contract. Read it over add your signature and I may work my magic to make it soul binding."
Viree took it and stared at me. "I don't know how to read."
I frowned, "You don't know how to write your signature either?"
She shook her head and I sighed. "Fucking of course you don't."
Viree threw her hands in the air. "What do you expect? You think my father was gonna teach a werewolf how to read and write? I couldn't even hold a pen!"
I sighed, "Dip your finger in the ink and place it on the paper. A person's fingerprint is entirely unique so the contract is able to register that."
She blinked, "Is that true?"
in Nirn? Fuck if I knew. It was a fake contract in the first place. I paused however, "You know what I'll add something extra just for you."
I began writing on the paper once more. Party A will teach Party B on request, however Party B must preform a favor on command for Party A. Refusal of said favor increases contract time limit by a year.
She looked at me, "I still can't read? What are you adding?"
I rolled my eyes, "I'll read out the contract to you. I am Party A you are Party B. Under the contract Party B will be Party A's follower. This contract can last until you are cured of your lycanthropy. However I can make a new contract at any time, per your request. If Party A dies, Party B dies. If Party A suffers at all from Party B, Party B will suffer all the same trauma. This is enforced by magic. Finally Party A can command Party B. However refusal of command extends the contract by a day. I also added I will teach you things at your request for a favor. However refusing said favor will increase the contract by a year."
She nodded, "Seems reasonable."
I scoffed, seems reasonable? I worded it beautifully on the paper. However thanks to this dumbass all that work went out the window. She dipped her finger into the ink and pressed her fingerprint onto the paper. "Is that all?"
I used splinter focus to cast lock on the contract. Making it glow a bright lime green. This Mutt was lucky, if it wasn't for being so good looking I'd be way more pissed. I grabbed the contract and shoved it into my inventory. Her eyes went wide, "How did you do that!"
I didn't answer her. Instead I looked at the chain collar around her neck. I suspected as much, it wasn't the type of shackle to require a key. I grabbed the mechanism and pulled it undone. The chain fell loose from the collar and the collar unhinged after that.
She stared, "It didn't have a key? Are you serious? I could've just done it myself?"
I shrugged, "It was a poacher's collar. So no, it is difficult to undue the latch if you aren't looking at it."
She sighed and got up. "I don't suppose you have any clothes for me?"
I shrugged and began leaving, I checked my quest log and saw the only thing I needed to do left was leave the hidden prison. "I can buy you some."
