Chapter 23 - An Opportunity

"Who are you?"

Xi Heji was startled as he turned around to face the voice. Her different colored eyes stared into his soul. Her hair waved behind her as she stood up straight, white particles surrounding her body. Xi Heji was still at the embodiment of innocence and purity that the figure in front of him represented, that caused him to have nothing but a clear mind.

Though contrary to her soft appearance, the command was anything but soft. The commanding tone seemed to echo and bounce off the textureless floor as it boomed throughout the empty world. As her voice was the only sound present, you could hear the same echo repeat on and on until it faded into the distance.

Xi Heji kept his eyes on her, not feeling in any way submissive to her demands. He too was a bit confused on all that has been going on and wanted to focus on the oddity that is the girl. Who is she? She couldn't be the ruler of this world? Is she a key to get out of this place? What even is this place to begin with? As she was the only other person in this place, these type of questions he could not answer himself could only be addressed by her, if she herself even knew.

"Where are we?"

Instead of answering the figures question, he asked a question instead. The figures eyes didn't shift at all at the avoidance of her question, her eyes remaining completely still. Xi Heji watched her for any signs of emotional reactions, but as time went on, he started to doubt if the figure was even human. But as he kept his eyes on her, she suddenly appeared in front of him. He didn't even know when she got here, it was like she was always there.

He didn't even have time to think of the thought to move. The moment she appeared in front of him, all functions of his body ceased for a second, passing his soul through the state of death before being sucked right back into his body. He felt as if his own body wasn't his anymore… it felt like a shell of his soul. He felt numb all around, not having enough strength to even move a muscle. All the while, it seemed to be caused by the pinky finger of the girl resting on his chest. As if he was drowsed, he immediately felt like he just woke up, completely gaining control of his body normally again. Immediately, he jumped back, wanting to avoid any contact with that strange being.

Even as he put enough distance to satisfy him, he knew that it mattered not, for even if he could see her movement, his reactions wouldn't be able to move his body fast enough. He was shaking. The fear he felt was unlike ever before. In front of such ability, who is he? Such a terrifying technique, what human could possibly achieve that strength?

The figure stood starting at him, seemingly thinking to herself.

Pysla searched through the memories of the boy. She found the space she was in so familiar, but she was sure that she has never been in such a place before. After searching for the properties of this world, she realized there were none. Which means she is either 'dead' or in someone's soul point. But why would she be in someone's soul point? She immediately ruled out her own soul point as she would have to be in a dead-like state to enter it, but she knew this was her spirit body, in other words, she was completely healthy putting aside the lack of energy. Two, she knew that nobody else could enter a soul point… unless.

A soul was fused with a host soul.

Although she was shocked, confused, and angry, her face remained completely indifferent and ethereal. She had to find out who this boy is. He was a peculiarity. Someone in his own soul point? This would only mean this person is almost dead, but then, why was she here? Was this a dream, an illusion? Both answers to the situation would be completely wrong, as she can't have dreams that members of humanity possess. There was also nobody that has ever existed that would be able to ever put an illusion upon her… because it's not possible. Being the concept of pure itself, she cannot lie, and cannot immerse herself in a lie. An illusion, a fake reality, is the embodiment of a lie, which would have no effect to her, she only sees the truth, the purest forms of all things. This is why she is immune to all the base elements, because they themselves are the purest forms of all of the variants such as ice.

So, the only way to answer her suspicions is to tap into the boy's memories. After searching through them, she found nothing to go off of. First, she identified that the boy in front of her was no god or devil of any sort as memories in the soul point are of the purest form, which she could easy read and sort, so false memories implemented but a someone or even the person themselves is not possible. Here in the soul point, the true self of the person is revealed, nothing can be hidden. She determined that it wasn't the boy himself that could have fused herself with him, as he would never know such a technique in the mortal world she found herself in. He also wasn't even strong enough to retain such a complex manual of soul fusion. Should a mortal like him even read such a heaven defying technique, the moment his eyes laid upon the runes the technique was written in, his brain would explode. Even a single word written in the manual of the soul fusion technique contains an uncountable number of years of information, a mere mortal couldn't even gaze upon it without dying. She has seen many gods attempt to understand it, only to die and have to be resurrected after.

So the only thing she could come up with…someone put her here.

The Goddess of Blood would have to be the main suspect, but why would she do this?

'Could she see this as giving me punishment? But why? What have I done to her? But if it wasn't her, then who else would've done this? I saw that this boy named 'Xi Heji' had a girlfriend with the same red eyes and hair as her, but there was no way that would be the Goddess of Blood, they didn't even look the same as they only shared the same features. Could it be she was reincarnated? But even if she was, she couldn't have retained her memories until she achieved godhood, so who did it? Is there some other god in this world? This mortal planet shouldn't be able to handle a god merely gazing at it, much less a god appearing in it. Whatever this is, this boy is my way out. The only way he could separate our souls is to be able to understand the soul fusion, but that wouldn't be possible unless he ascends to godhood.'

She thought to herself further.

'Even if he had all the time since existence was created, he would never become a god. His talent is so poor, it doesn't seem as if he has any special element either. The only other way is if I raise him as a spirit, but as I am right now, I can't.'

Remembering the condition and constitution of his body, she widened her eyes in her head.

'I could have him adapt to inherit my pure energy! That way he could cultivate with all known Qis in existence, and with my primordial energy, will adapt his body to withstand his ascension to godhood. Only then could we separate, as I have no other option in this world.'

She looked at Xi Heji.

"I have a proposal for you, one you would find especially intriguing."
