We both lost the cheery atmosphere, and was replaced by tension and seriousness.
I got up without a word and went to my belongings in the living room. I took my jacket and put it on.
I didn't notice Gab followed me, and then she grabbed my arm to make me look at her. "Eat first before you leave," she said thoughtfully.
"It's fine. I already ate at the resto earlier, so just eat what I cooked." I lied. "I need to go back to the Dome." Expressionless, I said, then I gently removed her grip on my arm.
She still blocked my way by spreading her arms. "I'll let you leave but give me a sec. I'm going to pack some food for you so you don't have to cook and can eat as soon as you get home." She was waiting for me to answer, and I knew she would not allow me to leave if I disagreed.
"Gabriella!" Lara called again from outside while knocking.
I sighed. "Hurry up."
Her face lit up with joy, and she hurried to the kitchen to pack me some food.
