Rain was busy revising and preparing for the next stage of the competition. It was barely a month away. Helen had told her she was ready to venture out into her own so she had planned to use the last month to finish her understudy and then continue with the competition. It was turning out to be a really stressful period and unfortunately her favourite person, Darryl, was busy at work.
She rarely saw Leroy these days. It appeared he was always in one meeting or the other or finishing up with other projects. She had expected her brother to be weird about her dating Darryl, but strangely enough, he had been pretty cool about it. Thinking about Darryl, even fleetingly reminded her of how much she had missed him. One week had gone by already. She was hoping the second week would fly by much quicker than the first had. She sent him a video message and got back to work.
A few minutes later, she heard a knock on her door and saw her mother’s head as she opened the door.
