Mr Baker, his wife and his family members were all seated in the living room talking.
"Mabel, you said Damien is coming over today right" Mr Baker asked her for the third time
"Brother.... Calm down he's on his way here" Mabel assured her brother.
"That's what you told me the last two times. I am very worried about this Damien guy. Are you really sure he wants to marry you" Mr Baker asked Mabel concerned.
"Yes brother. He was very busy the last two times. But he has assured me he would be here" Mabel convinced her brother.
Soon after, Damien arrived with two 5litres of palmwine, two Eva wine, Mr Baker had a conversation with him about his sister and the marriage. After an hour, Mr Baker handed him the traditional list of things to get for the marriage with the dowry amount when he was sure that Damien was ready for the marriage and taking care of his sister. Mabel was all smiles throughout till Damien left. She was going to get married in the next two weeks.

May was not at rest throughout the week in school because she felt like Mr Obaro was watching her every move, she didn't tell her Mom because she didn't want to add to the stress her Mom was facing already. Throughout the week in school, she had been contemplating on whether she should talk to God or not because she didn't believe in him which people didn't believe because her parents were very spiritual.
Unfortunately her parents knew and talked to her repeatedly but all of their efforts was futile. At some point, she was hoping Mr Obaro would forget their conversation but apparently he was still interested in her. Her thoughts were interrupted by someone who tapped her hand as she sat down on a chair in the cafeteria
"Hi"
"Hi" May responded half mindedly
" I'm talking to you so you should listen to me" The guy told her more like ordered. That was when he got her full attention.
"I'm Nate and you're May" He said and tried to shook his hands with May who was more than confused and refused vehemently.
" I don't know you. So I'm wondering why you are sitting on my table" May asked impolitely
Nate smiled and May noticed his manly features; his build, beard, pink plump lips, long eyelashes, really dark hair and small brown eyes.
" Stop ogling May. I could be yours if you want. Or you would like to take a picture?" Nate teased May
" Nope. Thanks. But can you please go? I am really busy in my thoughts" May asked with an embarrassed face.
" You can share what's eating you up May, you never know how free you'd be because you have never tried it over.
" No thanks. I have gotta go" May picked her handbag and left the cafeteria. Nate was still smirking while she walked far from the cafeteria.
While going home, Mr Obaro sent someone to call her to his office. She came to his office twenty minutes later.
" You sent for me sir" May tried to be polite
"Sit down May" Mr Obaro asked May
"Thanks"
"Sure, I can only be nice to you" Mr Obaro said
" I don't understand that sir...
"I'm talking about Nate. Are you interested in him? Is that why you don't want to do what I want?" Mr Obaro asked angry obviously triggered by Nate visit to May
" I seriously don't understand. I just met Nate and even if I were interested in Nate, I don't see how you should be concerned about that" May responded with a raised voice
"Young lady, I think you're forgetting who the boss is here. If you don't agree to be with me in the next five days. You can forget passing your exams because I would fail you" Mr Obaro threatened.
"It doesn't matter anyways. I hope you are still sane and healthy by that time" May threatened back and left his office angrily. It seemed like she had reached a conclusion in her mind, she was going to have a discussion with her family's Almighty God and see if anything could come out of it. Soon she got into a taxi which took her home, her sister Felicia would arrive the following week because of her auntie's marriage. At least her sister knew this Almighty God more than she did, she needed Mr Obaro to leave her alone

"Obaro, you're messing with my girlfriend. Are you?" Nate said and smiled, twirling the knife in his hands for a minute
"Nate, which girl exactly?" Mr Obaro asked Nate even if he knew that already.
"Are you questioning me? You know say I no dey like repeat myself(_i don't repeat my requests)_. The next I see you harassing my girl, Obaro you know me... I no dey cap(_i dont just talk, i do them)_- your family go receive your dead corpse" Nate threatened, Mr Obaro was flinching in his seat in his office, feeling uncomfortable but tried to put up a bold front.
"I am watching" Nate said with a smile and left Mr Obaro office.
Mr Obaro was mad, he banged his hand on his table loudly and threw the books off his table. He was going to get his hands on her with or without Nate.
