As he did with Ochako, Katsuki turned off his quirk and offered his hand to the redheaded boy.
Kirishima smiled at the bomb boy's manly gesture of sportsmanship.
He figured that Ururaka must have been shaken up from her fight with him, that she must have misheard some of what he was saying.
However, when he took his hand, Bakugo got right up in his face, a furiously annoyed expression clear to be seen on his.
"Maybe now, you'll get the message, fang-face. I don't need friends, especially you!"
Bakugo took his foot off of Kirishima, rather forcefully. "But hey...thanks for making me look good." He began to stomp away, leaving behind a bewildered redhead to mull over his harsh words.
Kirishima looked back up to the bleachers of his class, seeing Itsuka tending to a still traumatized Ochako, looking at him before turning away with a look of disappointment on her face.
All the hard-skin boy could do was pick himself up, dust himself off, and head back inside.
Nezu applauded along with the rest of the UA alumni, slapping his tiny paws together when a familiar scarecrow looking figure sat in the seat next to him.
"Ah, Toshi! I was wondering where you got off to. I see you decided to take Recovery Girl's advice, and forgo the nachos?"
Toshinori gave a small chuckle. "No, I still indulged myself... Don't tell Chiyo." The man quickly pleaded.
The principal shook his head. All this time and Yagi still couldn't do as he was told.
He then noticed the slight frown on his old friend's withered face. "Is something wrong, Toshi?"
The deflated number one hero came out of his thoughts and turned to the intelligent animal, releasing a sigh. "It's nothing. I... I thought I saw someone I met before..."
"An old friend?" The principal asked in curiosity.
"No...just, someone I hoped to meet again..." The shrivelled symbol of peace answered wistfully.
Nezu looked at his friend in concern but ultimately turned back to watch the rest of the games.
A vibrating in Iida's pocket drew his attention from waiting to be called for his match in the waiting room.
He stood and pulled out his phone, seeing his mother's name on the small screen, and found it rather odd for her to be calling at a time like this.
He figured she just wanted to wish him luck in the rest of the tournament. The class president silently hoped that his older brother was watching.
He was most of the reason why he wanted to become a hero in the first place. To carry on his legacy would be nothing short of a joy and an honour.
The spectacled speeder picked up the call and brought the phone to his ear. "Hello, mother. Is everything alright? How's Tensei? Is he watching the festival?"
The sound of muffled sobs and garbled words met his ears, as Tenya Iida's face fell into utter shock and horror.
"...What?"
"Due to a family issue, Tenya Iida has dropped out of the tournament. Shoto Todoroki moves on to the final round!" Present Mic announced over the small speakers in La Brava's laptop.
"Our next match will be Fumikage Tokoyami verses Katsuki Bakugo!"
"Oh, dear..." Inko worried for the poor spectacled boy. She hoped that whatever was wrong with his family wasn't anything too bad.
The small levitation woman had been growing more and more anxious as the festival went on.
She was silently hoping that the games would finish quickly.
The sooner they did, the sooner she and Mitsuki would head to the police station and talk to the detective about what she found in her missing baby's room.
She was then brought out of her thoughts by her bombastic best friend, cheering for her son as he made his way out into the ring.
The sick feeling that Inko would get every time she saw the ash-blonde boy came back once more.
It had been growing bigger and bigger every time she saw him, with that disinterested snarl on his face.
The distraught mother didn't have the strength to say it out loud, much less admit it to herself...but she was starting to think that Katsuki might have had something to do with her Izuku going missing...
La Brava helped herself to a bag of chips as she watched the events on screen while making sure that no anti-viruses had detected her yet.
Her attention was then drawn to a loud 'clang' in the ventilation shaft she entered through, hopping up on her little feet and readying herself for anything.
A few moments of banging and shuffling later, and Gentle's moustachioed face popped out of the hole in the ceiling. "Greetings, my dear!"
"Gentle~!" La Brava cried out in joy, as the man attempted to pull himself out of the vent...only to realise he had a problem.
"...I appear to be stuck." The thief lamented.
"Don't worry, my Gentle! I'll save you!" The tiny hacker scurried over to her beloved and lept up to grab him, only succeeding in snagging the pride and joy on his face.
"Not the moustache! Not the moustache!" The elasticity man wailed as his cohort yanked on his facial hair, focusing more on getting him out as she used what little bodyweight she had to try and pull him out of the shaft.
With a little manoeuvring and a lot of pulled hairs, Gentle came tumbling out of the vent and onto the floor, thankfully missing his partner in crime.
Are you okay, Gentle?" La Brava reached for him in concern."
The flamboyant thief covered his moustache, fearing to have it ripped off all the more, but kept up his jolly demeanour. "O-Of course, my dear! A fall like that is nothing to me. Ready to go?"
"You bet!" La Brava nodded as she headed back to her gear and packed up her things. "I'm successfully inside the school's system, and I haven't been detected yet. That new cloaking malware Deku and I designed is working like a charm!"
"Splendid, my dear!" Gentle congratulated, even if he didn't understand what she was saying.
As La Brava was about to close her laptop, she looked to see that one of the students, the hard-skinned redhead if she remembered, was fighting that psycho explosion guy.
Her eyes narrowed at the ash-blonde bully, remembering what he did in his last match.
"What's the matter, my dear?" Gentle walked up behind the girl and spotted who she was watching. "Oh...him."
The two of them scowled as he unleashed his blasts without restraint on his opponent, who was standing a better chance with his quirk than the gravity girl, as guilty as admitting that made them feel.
They took some time to watch the match, hoping that the bird boy would be able to tank his attacks and defeat him.
Unfortunately, that didn't come to be, as the bomb boy pinned the shadow wielder to the ground, ready to flay him if he dared to move.
Reluctantly, the bird boy admitted defeat.
"I hate that guy..." La Brava spat bitterly. Memories of her life at school came back to haunt her as she watched the ballistic bully look down on his opponent, only to walk away with his hands in his pockets.
"That boy does indeed need a lesson in chivalry," The elasticity man commented. "But we can't let ourselves be distracted. We have a job to do. Deku is counting on us!"
La Brava nodded and acted quickly to pack her things, leaving behind a few wireless USB chips plugged into the hard drives.
Once she was done, she headed back over to her beloved and gave him a nod.
Gentle grinned at this and activated his comm. "Deku, my boy! We're all set!"
"Now, all you have to do is get those medals!" The flamboyant thief declared enthusiastically into the gree hooded boy's ear.
"That's great, Gentle. Thank you both for all your hard work." The young villain praised with a friendly smile... until it shrunk a little, turning bittersweet.
"And... I'm sorry."
Gentle grew confused at this. He turned back to face his young accomplice, who also shared in his confusion. "W-What do you mean, my boy? Sorry for what?"
The crowd cheered and hollered around Deku, demanding for the final match of the Sports Festival to begin. "I haven't been completely honest with you...any of you."
"Not honest...what are you talking about?!" The elasticity man cried out into his ear.
"We're not here to steal any medals...we're not here to steal anything." The teen analyst explained, having steeled himself for the big reveal to his cohorts in crime, as well as for what he intended to accomplish next. "It's more like...I'm here to take something back."
La Brava cut in, her voice desperate and quivering. "You're not making any sense, Deku! Take what back?!"
The Quirkless boy's smile was gone as he stared forward.
"My dignity."
"...W-What?" That was the only thing La Brava could say after the boy's vague response.
"Thank you for everything...and I'm sorry. again" With that, Deku cut the feed and turned to walk back inside, disappearing into the doorway's cast darkness.
