As I decided to go to the library the next day, I finished eating and went back to my room.
My room had a very traditional feel to it, as it was furnished with a desk facing the windows, a tea table and two nightstand surrounding my four poster bed.
I wrote my day in the brown journal with silver sides. I always have my journal with me, and each one has around four-hundred pages.
I only write on one side of the page so that it will last with me in my long life. I already have eleven journal and I am nearing the end of the twelfth journal.
After I finished writing about my day, I start to feel the fatigue of the day kick in, I put out the candles out and jump over to my bed.
'I need to study hard to impress my future tutor. I can't become a failure even in magic. It is my only way to make a redemption from all of my past failures.'
As I steeled my resolve, I felt my pupils become heavy and before being able to think anymore, I slept in the big, comfortable bed clad with red pillows.
The next day, I woke up and stretched after getting out of the bed. The dark wooden floor creaked under the pressure that my foots pressing on the carpet generated.
I felt invigorated and started getting dressed up. I decided to wear some classy clothes.
I then headed to the dining room where I had a breakfast made up of soft boiled eggs, bacon, sausages, lettuce and toasts.
After having a lovely meal, I once again entered the corridor and I started going to the library to ask question to Hecate and to start researching the basics of the many fields that composed the umbrella term that "magic" is.
I stopped in front of the library and pushed the door as the scent of old books started attacking my nose.
I went to the desk and found Hecate at her desk, per usual. All of the sheets of papers that she was working on yesterday were still in the same place and she was absorbed in her book.
I quietly started going to the shelves containing the books about magic and i hesitated before picking up a book named 'Magic for dummies'
I opened the book and started reading the first chapter named 'mana'.
'Mana is a force that every living being is born with. From insects, to dragons. everything has a mana core but not everyone can properly harness its true power. Depending on the species, they will have to undergo a ritual or simply wait until they are a certain age before the core awaken, therefore unlocking the usage of magic'
'Oh, so that is why even after reading some spell-book I am unable to cast even the most simple of spell? Interesting'
I quickly started reading the rest of the book.
AN: Sorry if this chapter was a bit late. I will start actually posting at a decent hour from now on. Have a great day.
The next chapters are going to be a bit of an info dump, so prepare yourself. Oh and btw what do you readers think of my writing style? Should I describe in more or less detail?
If you are hyped but feeling kinda down due to the lack of chapters, don't hesitate to pin this to your library and come back in a few months so that you can properly binge this novel of mine.
