Chapter 7 - Magic(2)

'Once they start practicing magic, mages will see their mana quantity improve before refining itself. There are ten stages of refinement, each one coming with their benefits(see AN/1 at the end). Each time someone makes a breakthrough in their magical knowledge, their mana level and mana density will increase. Very few being can attain godhood by obtaining the final refinement stage due to their short lives. There are several possible methods available to rapidly increase someone's mana core quality, but most of the time they involve making a deal with a 'higher existence' or being involved with the dark arts, a forbidden branch of magic.'

As I finished reading the section about mana, I flipped a page and found the second chapter. It was simply called 'elements', and just from the title one can understand its content. I thus started reading

'Everyone can wield the elements. However the degree of proficiency can vary from one person to another. Someone could have an extremely easy time conjuring a powerful tier 5 water spell, but could be struggling to conjure a tier 1 fire spell. Not everyone is blessed equally by the elements. The elemental affinities are decided when one awaken his mana core, or any organ serving a similar purpose. Elemental affinities are engraved deeply into the soul of a person and only through rigorous training could one better his understanding of the laws of the world.'

'Fire is an element used mostly for destructive purposes; however it can also be used passively to defend or heal oneself. It burns with a fiery passion and is very hard to stop when unleashed. Most of the time, peoples with a strong fire affinity will have a very passionate personality.'

'Water is an element mostly used to heal and support; however, if one is skillful enough, it can be used for destructive purposes. It is an element which is soothing and implies a collected thought process. Usually, peoples with a strong water affinity will have a very cold personality.'

'Water and fire are two side of the same coin. They are weirdly bound together by their perfect contrast.'

'Air is an element mostly used for free spirited movement; however it can also be used to restrict someone else. It is an element which is extremely hard to restrict, and is therefore very hard to manipulate. Peoples with a strong wind affinity will be free spirited and will be troublemaker due to their nature.'

'Earth is the contrary of air. It is an element used to restraint or protect; yet it can also be used to easily move through the use of platforms. A strong affinity with the earth element implies a very rigid thought process, as well as a will as strong as granite'

'Earth and air are also bound by the same relation that fire and water have together.'

As I finished reading these sections, I felt my brain melting, so I decided to go eat before coming back to the library to ask a question that has been on my mind for quite a while.

AN/1: AN: Benefits of mana refinement will be explained during a future arc so be patient ^_^
